You know, I feel Yukari was supposed to be playing the same role as Shaft in SoTN.

EDIT: And Meiling's voice was SO adorable! I also just found out that the seiyuu who voiced Sakuya also voiced Momohime in Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

I thought Mei Ling was supposed to be a bad ass Gate Keeper, but she sounds way too nice for that.

Probably nothing new but I like how the game intentionally wants you to die each and every time. Easy and Normal mode are enjoyable for the regular platformers. Hard mode suddenly because pain horror and tears. God damn Youmu like Drake said.

Meiling's still a lean, mean, butt-kicking machine (at least when she has to be). JAOOOOOOOO! Though I agree with you; her voice is very endearing. I daww'd a few times.

Hmm...I felt this one was way easier than the first. Stage wise and Boss wise easier. Youmu gave me a little trouble but it wasn't hard at all. Yuyuko was tricky since that butterfly was stalking me.
But TV2 felt shorter and easier than the first one. But still better than the first as well. All the new subweapons and most especially voice actors \o/
I mean i don't know many if any doujin series with professional voice actors tbh. This is the first touhou game i'v seen with voices. The only other doujin game I've seen with voices was eXceed 2nd REX: Vampire.
The voices in this are amazing @_@. I don't know many of the animes that they are from but I love em. Specially Remi, Sakuya, Flan, Alice, and Yukari. But really i love em all.

I wonder what the story of this thing is....I get the feeling that Yukari kidnapped Remi to...do...something...involving Yuyuko and the Saigyou Ayakashi. I've no idea. I can't wait for the translation

Also, even though I do like Meiling's voice in this, I kinda wish they used the same actor who voiced her in the M-1.

I dunno, not a particular fan of Meiling voice... she sounded a little too silly, but that's just my biased opinion (prefer a semi-serious meiling). Loved Ran and Youmu's voices a lot though.

Just finished up Marisa on Hard, Youmu on Hard was ridiculously easy for me for some reason, successfully killing her the second time I faced her, I guess it was mostly just because I didn't eat her dash slash like a moron, and after observing how the gaps work of that move it became rather easy. Marisa was a bit of hell though, mainly because she doesn't leave you with much time to attack her, that's until I figured out that Dagger spam at the end of Master Spark did tons of damage :V

So I finally got it, and I can safely say this kicked the first one in the face. The music was about the same in quality, but the gameplay and art improved immensely. Can't say much about the story, since I had no idea what in the green hell was going on, and I hope the English patch comes out soon so we can find out. The stage selection that the 1.01 patch gives is a great help, so you don't have to play the game all the way through to get to a particular place, and the omakes look like they'll be really interesting. And I'll admit, I was surprised at how well the voice actors fit. For once they had a Sakuya voice that I actually liked, and even Meiling fit in her own way. It was a great decision, and it really adds to the game. Only problem I had was that

had almost no dialogue or real plot involvement from what I could tell.

As for difficulty, I think it was good. Not too hard, not too easy. Youmu was a pain in the ass, though, and it took me forever to figure out how to get to the safe spots for

In any case, I hope we can get the English patch soon. And the official art. Banpai Akira is a god.

I think Naut and co said that if you fly, your hitbox becomes smaller :V (around her breasts? )

I thought Yuyuko was the easiest fight in the game, personally.

Also, I did it on normal with 20 lives. Had to continue on the last boss, and by the time I was done on my first time through I went from 20 lives to 2 on the second phase.

Oh wauw, they really improved a lot from the original. This is really awesome.

Normal mode didn't give me much problems. Might try Hard mode later.

Anyone know where all the 1-ups are? Is it a one per stage deal?

Beat Hard Mode.

Wasn't too bad. I found Chen to be the hardest thing in the entire game. :V

Stage 2's can be found in the room with the spinning platforms(3rd room before the boss, the one with the mini-dragon). On the set where the dragon appears, fall under the last one and hit the area underneath.

Stage 7's 1-UP happens to be in a jar above one those tree enemies with a girl that shoots out leaves while the tree whacks at you with its limbs (I think the one right before the boss at the end or very close to it?). You'll need to fly up to it.
