MoF, though stated to be a "return to the origins", wasn't very close to SoEW, despite having a similar original name..

How much time do you guys think it will take for HM to be translated? Besides everyone's story modes and the whole menus, there's also the fact that the way HM's programmed is different from all other games. I bet it'll take two months.

lusvik: I don't mind about playing HM in japanese. The language of punching other people is international.

I think the Sanae's picture is a little odd...
1st, Cirno & Meiling are directing for right side, but this Sanae isn't.
2st, the hair accessories (screwing snake & flatten frog) was on the right side of her hair in MoF & UFO, but this Sanae's is on the left side.
3rd, she held her rod in the right hand in the lateset 2 works, but this Sanae did in the left hand.

well she puts the same thing on every day. maybe she felt like she needed a change :)

Whoa, too many subtopics... don't know what to address really...

It's a SWR expansion. You can tell by the name, as it's SWR's name, but with "soku" added to the end of it. Touhou Hisoutensoku
That make sense, according to Garlyle's post all the way back on page 2, Kanako says the big man-shaped thing is a weather phenomenon. For what I understand, it look like some kind of mirror mist-thing that reflects one' shadow... or something like that. It might not be a mech since Cirno sees some great youkai and Meiling sees a giant bird named Peng. Maybe another Celestial caused it... then again anyone could cause it.

I don't think those three are the only ones who'll come out. Seeing the expansion from IMaP to SWR the Touhou fighters roster seem to expand at a decent rate. I know Meiling wasn't in SWR but I thought they would add her in a later patch. Seeing as they were working this, that patch was probably discontinued. Then, again that's just a theory.

Also, curious though why Cirno's silhouette is on the cover...

And about gameplay(of fighting games) and whatnot:
Right now, I'm just happy that Cirno is going to be playable and that Meiling is returning. I'll save my judgement for when it actually gets released.

EDIT: And according to Pooshlmer only 4 SWR characters will be playable unless you already have SWR installed. In other words, it's confirmed as an expansion pack.

GJ, Tasofro. If 12.3 is actually balanced I'll laugh at the fact people need to buy SWR first to play it. :V

I'm going to guess that Cirno will be a long-range fighter, and that her Spell Card attacks might not work if your opponent is too close (yeah I went there).

God, are those going to be expensive later on...

I'm excited about the new game and characters, and since I'm a more casual fighter, I don't mind it being an expansion to SWR (although an option to turn off the weather would be nice). I'll be spreading the news around to my other buddies...

people are disappointed by the game (most likely) using SWR's engine, rather than being something different. (I've been thinking that the game, at the best possibility, would use SWR's character data files, add content to them, and then use them for a new engine, with different gameplay mechanics)

Since I had fun playing the single player mode of SWR I'll buy the expansion as well but I hope this acts as a patch and fixes a few things in the game. I would have bought it anyways even if I hated SWR since I'll buy every official touhou games(for windows).
