The Story So Far:
You are Elly, an ex-shinigami who has broken ties with the Yamas, and now serve under Yuuka Kanzami, the flower master of four seasons, guarding the gate to the Dream World, which in turn keeps you safe from the retribution of the Yamas, as the land is beyond life and death.
Yuuka gave you some time off, and sent you to Gensokyo to do whatever you felt like, because you hadn't fought for a while. Eventually, you decided to start up an incident to get revenge on Reimu for bargeing into your house. You gathered several notable figures to aid you, such as the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Nue and Mamizou, Tenshi, and Eirin, and working together, you managed to outwhit and eventually defeat Reimu. You also found a strange tree youkai, who was later revealed by Yuuka to be the one which your scythe is made from.
However, Komachi found you almost right afterwards, and used her distance manipulation to take you to Higan, to face judgement by the Yamaxandu. Eiki gave you the chance to fight for your freedom, as the Celestials got to, but instead of fighting a reaper, your foe was her. After a long battle, with help from Yuuka, your scythe was imbued with some strange powers from Eiki's stand, and you managed to fufill the condition of injuring the Yama, before Yuuka went too far and outright defeated her.
A few days later, you were guarding the Dream Portal, which shifted to a different dimension than Yuuka's. Curious, you went to investigate, and entered a strange world. After talking to some strange orbs, you flew towards the moon in the sky, and have come across a strange, maid-like figure.
>Let's tip our hat a bit, gotta be polite. "Name's Elly, this here fine piece of work is Malus. I actually keep an eye on the portal from the other side. I guess you could call me a gatekeeper."
>Sigh. "The big problem though, is that there's only one portal, and I can't get in touch with Boss if the portal's connecting here instead of her world. And even though she's pretty strong, I still worry about her."
> "Ah, so you're here because of duty on the other side, eh?" Mugetsu says, with a small smile.
> She pauses for a few moments.
> "Truth is I hoped someone would investigate. I opened the portals as a cry for help. My sister is getting out of hand, and risks this whole dimension's stability if she continues."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "So lemme get this straight, you need someone to knock your sis back into line, right? Tell me what exactly got her goin' off like she's been, I might know how to set her straight."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "So lemme get this straight, you need someone to knock your sis back into line, right? Tell me what exactly got her goin' off like she's been, I might know how to set her straight."
> "Yes. That is the case. The fact that she is the most powerful being in this dimension has gotten to her head, she thinks nothing can stop her, and she can do what she pleases. I cannot stop her, and I am second in power only to her." Mugetsu says.
-
>"Well, I'll give you a hand, then."
>Given that Yuuka previously said she's anywhere that there are flowers, is it possible to communicate with her through flowers? If so: "Hey, are there any flowers around here? I can talk to my boss through 'em, and she's always up for a fight."
-
>"Well, I'll give you a hand, then."
>Given that Yuuka previously said she's anywhere that there are flowers, is it possible to communicate with her through flowers? If so: "Hey, are there any flowers around here? I can talk to my boss through 'em, and she's always up for a fight."
> "Thank you." Mugetsu says.
> "There are no flowers here."
-
>"Hmm. Sounds pretty dull."
>"Alright, do you know where's she's at?"
-
>"Hmm. Sounds pretty dull."
>"Alright, do you know where's she's at?"
> "Well, there are not flowers on the moon, so why would there be flowers here? I've grown up without them."
> "I don't know exactly, but I know how to make her come to us." Mugetsu says, before she breathes in.
> "Yo, Gengetsu, there's something I wanna show you!"
> You feel a pressure in the air, as the moon starts to turn all wavey, distorted, before it returns to normal, with an angelic figure appearing before it.

Gengetsu
Demon that takes Angelic Form
-
>"Hi."
>"How's the weather here?"
>Beware of surprise attack.
-
>"I'm Elly, the gatekeeper of the dream world." Lift your hat slightly.
-
>"Hi."
>"How's the weather here?"
>Beware of surprise attack.
> "Hello."
> "The same as usual. Cloudless moonlight night. Why do you ask?"
>"I'm Elly, the gatekeeper of the dream world." Lift your hat slightly.
> "I am Gengetsu, mistress of this dimension, and sister of Mugetsu, who you are with. What I wonder, is why is an outsider in my realm?"
-
>"Well, youkai have different tastes when it comes to weather, just thought I'd hear your opinion on it.
>"There was a portal leading out to my boss's dimension. I came to investigate."
>"Out of curiosity, I've heard you're real powerful with destruction, ever tried creation?"
-
>"Well, youkai have different tastes when it comes to weather, just thought I'd hear your opinion on it.
>"There was a portal leading out to my boss's dimension. I came to investigate."
>"Out of curiosity, I've heard you're real powerful with destruction, ever tried creation?"
> "Interesting. However, that doesn't explain why the portal is open, hmm?"
> "Oh yes, I've done plenty of creation. I made this realm. I'm just bored of it now."
-
>"Your sister tells me that it is she who opened the portal. She said that she fears for the stability of this realm, and opened the portal as a 'cry for help', as she called it."
>"I'll be honest: your sister thinks that you are somehow destabilizing this realm. I, on the other hand, do not know enough to make any judgement. I don't know the nature of this realm, or what things might affect its stability. I don't know what power you and your sister have, either. It strikes me as unlikely that you would destabilize this realm, given that you were the one to create it, but your sister worries that this is happening. She asked me to help, but first, I need to know more."
>Turn to Mugetsu.
>"If I've learned one thing over the years, it's to not be too quick to judge a situation. There's a chance your worries may not be justified, after all."
-
>"Your sister tells me that it is she who opened the portal. She said that she fears for the stability of this realm, and opened the portal as a 'cry for help', as she called it."

> Gengetsu closes her eyes, and red cracks begin to appear in the sky.
> "Is that so~ Sister..." she says, as the cracks spread. "You don't trust me when I say I'm reshaping the world because I'm bored of it?"
> There is a massive splintering sound, as the islands start to break apart too. White liquid starts flowing from the crescent of the moon.
> "Well then... well then... well then sister, you go behind my back and betray me... do you know what this means!" Gengetsu roars, as waves of red energy come from her, and the previously purple moon turns blood-red.
> She looks different to the composed angel she looked before. She looks far more demonic.

>"Woah woah woah! Can we, like, not immediately start fighting? 'Cause it sounds to me like this may just be a misunderstanding."
-
>...Bollocks. This might not go as well as the last big brawl if she insists on a fight.
>"You could just redecorate though, no need to break the whole place. Just reshape it."
>Doesn't boss rework and reshape her place when she gets tired of the same old same old?
-
>"Woah woah woah! Can we, like, not immediately start fighting? 'Cause it sounds to me like this may just be a misunderstanding."
> "A misunderstanding? The evidence that proves it is stalking to me right now! Why else would she have let you in if not to try and stop me?"
>...Bollocks. This might not go as well as the last big brawl if she insists on a fight.
>"You could just redecorate though, no need to break the whole place. Just reshape it."
>Doesn't boss rework and reshape her place when she gets tired of the same old same old?
> "In dimensional terms, you can't redecorate without breaking a few things."
> Yuuka doesn't really get tired of the same old, because the flowers constantly change, they do not live long, so are replaced with slightly different flowers as they spread seeds. Besides, Yuuka has Gensokyo that she lives in at the same time as well.
-
>"Pretty sure she was just intending for someone to help talk you out of destroying the place. For someone like you, it should be easy to just reshape without destroying the place. You like a good challenge, right? Then try to reshape the place without destroying it, that should be a good test of your skill, right?"
-

> "Creation and destruction are a cycle. To create, there must be things destroyed, what I want to change requires it. How can I change the skies when these ones already exist? How can I change the ground, when there is one in the way? I cannot 'change' things. I can only 'create' and 'destroy' things."

> "Well, your logic is as inpenetrable as these floor tiles..."
> Create bunker of floor tiles around self and Gengetsu.
-
> "Well, your logic is as inpenetrable as these floor tiles..."
> Create bunker of floor tiles around self and Gengetsu.
> "Logic? Nah. This ain't logic, this is how I work. Besides, even if it wasn't a fact of existance, I'd still destroy... I'm a demon after all!"
> You create a bunker around yourself and Gengetsu. The latter just vanishes.
> "I should have explained this sooner. Both me and Gengetsu can teleport short distances." you hear Mugetsu say, before you hear the sounds of a clash outside.
-
>"That complicates matters somewhat."
>Retract front tiles so we can see what's happening.
>If they're fighting, throw Gengetsu's bunker at her in a whirling cloud.
-
>"That complicates matters somewhat."
>Retract front tiles so we can see what's happening.
>If they're fighting, throw Gengetsu's bunker at her in a whirling cloud.
> "Yes, but if me and her try and warp to the same position at the same time, it stops us warping, and stops us doing so for a few minutes. Problem is I have to know where she's going to." Mugetsu says.
> You retract the tiles, and you can see the sisters fighting. Gengetsu is overpowering her sister, from the looks, lashing out with claws.
> You hurl the tiles that made Gengatsu's bunker at her in a whirling cloud, however, she just wraps away from her sister to evade it.
> "That's not very nice... interfering in a sister's argument."
-
>"Well, the way you're goin', she's gonna end up in need of major medical treatment."
>Sigh. "'sides, don'tcha think you're overreacting a bit?"
>Fistpalm, and set a full field of tiles to floating all over the immediate area. "Say, since you can create stuff, have you ever tried your hand at making flowers and the like? I bet you could come up with some pretty good ones."
-
>"Well, the way you're goin', she's gonna end up in need of major medical treatment."
>Sigh. "'sides, don'tcha think you're overreacting a bit?"
>Fistpalm, and set a full field of tiles to floating all over the immediate area. "Say, since you can create stuff, have you ever tried your hand at making flowers and the like? I bet you could come up with some pretty good ones."
> "Doesn't a traitor deserve worse than need for medical treatment? Like a tombstone?"
> "Over-reacting to the one being I know not trusting me? My own flesh and blood?"
> "Maybe, however, I don't know what a flower is. Even then, I would need to destroy to create from the energy released. It's how my power works."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "You don't know what a flower is? Okay, we're all gonna put a hold on this fight so I can get you set straight on flowers, 'kay? I know a fair bit about 'em. A friend of mine really loves 'em y'know, so I ended up picking up quite a bit on that subject."
-
>"Also, can't you just use waste material to destroy then instead of bringing an entire dimension down?"
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "You don't know what a flower is? Okay, we're all gonna put a hold on this fight so I can get you set straight on flowers, 'kay? I know a fair bit about 'em. A friend of mine really loves 'em y'know, so I ended up picking up quite a bit on that subject."
> "I can just cross dimensions to find out at my pleasure. Besides, this is hardly a fight between me and you. Yet."
>"Also, can't you just use waste material to destroy then instead of bringing an entire dimension down?"
> "There is no waste material. I must destroy to create, my power handles the cycle of matter. Nothing goes to waste in this world."
-
>"Fine then, but isn't it at least slightly risky to eradicate the entire dimension, even if you rebuild it afterwards?"
-
>"Fine then, but isn't it at least slightly risky to eradicate the entire dimension, even if you rebuild it afterwards?"
> "Oh no, I won't break EVERYTHING. I'll keep an area safe so we're safe. Then I'll destroy that part later and re-make it."
-
>Let's look to Mugetsu. "And why precisely are you worried about all this again?"
-
>Let's look to Mugetsu. "And why precisely are you worried about all this again?"
> "Because I don't WANT this world to be destroyed. Besides, what if she goes too far? What if she can't fix it? What if doing this ruptures the dream portal? Who knows what could happen then, to other worlds!"
-
>Wince a bit. "Ooh, yeah, that is a problem."
Anyone else got any ideas on how to resolve this problem?
-
>What do we know about dream worlds? Would the damaging or destruction of one have an effect on others?
>"You said you created this world. What did you destroy in order to do so?"
-
>What do we know about dream worlds? Would the damaging or destruction of one have an effect on others?
>"You said you created this world. What did you destroy in order to do so?"
> Only that they are all connected by a central dimension to the real world, the Dream Portal, but only one route can be open at a time. You guess if something dirupted the portal, then the other worlds, and the real world, could be in danger.
> "Good question. I destroyed the world that already existed here... and it's inhabitants. This used to be someone else's dimension. Then I came along and... well."
-
>"Therein lies the problem though, if you aren't careful, the portal will be damaged, and who knows what'll happen as a result. I'm thinking a multi-dimensional implosion or something."
-
>"However, you said you destroyed and recreated this world once already. Did anything happen to the portal or other dream worlds back then?"
-
>"Therein lies the problem though, if you aren't careful, the portal will be damaged, and who knows what'll happen as a result. I'm thinking a multi-dimensional implosion or something."
> Gengetsu shrugs. "Wouldn't mind it if the moon got imploded.
>"However, you said you destroyed and recreated this world once already. Did anything happen to the portal or other dream worlds back then?"
> "I dunno. There was no portal back then. It just... appeared when I re-made this world. My theory is when I destroyed the world, it ceased to be a 'real' world, and my new world was one in the realms of 'dreams' and 'fantasy'."
-
>"So... the old world... existed... in reality... and this one... is a dream? OK, then..."
> Think ruefully that some of those painkillers from Kourindou would be great for that headache you just got.
>"A good idea, i think, would be to destroy most of it, but leave the portal and anywhere within 3 square miles alone."
>"That way, there's almost no risk of damage to the portal, and you still change the world to suit your liking."
-
>"A good idea, i think, would be to destroy most of it, but leave the portal and anywhere within 3 square miles alone."
>Don't say that part. Instead, say: "A good idea, I think, would be to leave just the portal area alone."
-
>"So... the old world... existed... in reality... and this one...
> "I think so. Not sure. Portal appeared after I re-made the world." Gengetsu says.
> You don't even know what Kourindou is.
>Don't say that part. Instead, say: "A good idea, I think, would be to leave just the portal area alone."
> "I don't think you understand. That's not fun. Besides, the portal shouldn't even be here, this is my world, my creation. Whoever put something in my world so others can interfere was asking for it!"
-
>"That's just it, the moment you remade this world, it became a Dream World. And thus, is bound by the same limitation all Dream Worlds have, they have to connect to the Dream Door. And it's my job to keep watch over it, and make sure nothing happens to it."
-
>"That's just it, the moment you remade this world, it became a Dream World. And thus, is bound by the same limitation all Dream Worlds have, they have to connect to the Dream Door. And it's my job to keep watch over it, and make sure nothing happens to it."
> "And it's my job to watch over my world, and shape it how I see fit. Why does it matter to me if something happens to other worlds?" Gengetsu says.
-
>"Cause and effect, cause and effect. It's like pulling a loose thread in a tapestry, if you pull wrong, pull hard, or sometimes even pull at all, the whole thing comes undone in a mess of threads."
-
>"If you destroy the portal, it's possible you might destroy everything. It's also possible that doing that will make the entire dream realm, including this world, cease to exist. And if that happened..."
> Let the sentence trail off.
-
>"Cause and effect, cause and effect. It's like pulling a loose thread in a tapestry, if you pull wrong, pull hard, or sometimes even pull at all, the whole thing comes undone in a mess of threads."
> "Except chaos is lovely!"
>"If you destroy the portal, it's possible you might destroy everything. It's also possible that doing that will make the entire dream realm, including this world, cease to exist. And if that happened..."
> Let the sentence trail off.
> "How would you know that would happen? Has it happened before? Clearly not, since your standing here now!"
-
> "How would you know that would happen? Has it happened before? Clearly not, since your standing here now!"
(This line deleted because i thought we'd passed the point of no return and hadn't.)
>"Think about it. If you destroy the dream portal and it wipes out the realm, you'll destroy yourself! Is that something you're willing to risk?"
-
>"If you really don't want there to be a portal to your world, you could always simply just isolate the portal area, cut it off from the rest of your world. That would prevent damage to the portal and other worlds, while at the same time preventing others from truly entering your world."
-
(Guys, we're going to eventually hit a fight. She's going to be obstinate until we stop her, i bet.)
-
Most likely, yes.
-
(In that case... why try stalling any longer? It's clearly not working. We might as well hit the starting bell.)
-
I think that's about to happen.
-
[Not got time to actually update, but I'm popping in to say you *can* still resolve this peacefully, however, it's significantly harder since you angered her by making her think Mugetsu betrayed her, and even before then, convincing Gengetsu would have been hard. When things go past the point of no return I usually post a fight theme.]
-
Well then, how do we go about this then?
-
Well, for starters... *modifies post attempting to kick off fight because he didn't think it could be resolved peacefully*
We could see if there's a way to convince her not to touch the portal. Tough, but might be possible.
We could also call Yuuka's cutting over here... Unless she can't come for some reason.
We could try selling her on the natural order of things <---- Not even if Higan froze over would this one work.
Try dragging along Cirno and letting Gengetsu use her as a punching bag <------I get the feeling attempting to leave would spark off the battle.
Try seeing if Malus can somehow get the point across <------ Not likely, but worth a try
>"If you really don't want there to be a portal to your world, you could always simply just isolate the portal area, cut it off from the rest of your world. That would prevent damage to the portal and other worlds, while at the same time preventing others from truly entering your world."
I don't think this will work. She's already made it clear she hates the very thought of it being there. We'll need to find a way to completely isolate her world from the portal. Otherwise, we're gonna have to fight it out.
-
Um... that's exactly what that command is saying.
-
It sounds pretty fair to me.
-
>"If you really don't want there to be a portal to your world, you could always simply just isolate the portal area, cut it off from the rest of your world. That would prevent damage to the portal and other worlds, while at the same time preventing others from truly entering your world."
> "So... you're saying, I could lock away the portal?"
-
>"Possibly. We should probably get a third opinion from someone I know who also rules over a Dreamworld, she'd know a bit more than me. Being the Keeper of the Door only does so much before you have to consult someone wiser."
-
Gah... I'm being paranoid, but won't that imply her to be subordinate to our third opinion?
Sure, she is, but that's not what she'll want to hear. She thinks she's almighty and stuff, and she's clearly unstable.
Not that I can think of anything better though.
-
Well, boss is the best person we know when it comes to dreamworlds. And this sort of matter could use her knowledge and input, since if it doesn't work right, it'll affect her too.
-
>Would Yuuka know more about this than we do? On;y say the line about asking her if she does.
No point in bringing her up if we don't think she'd know more tha we do.
-
>"Possibly. We should probably get a third opinion from someone I know who also rules over a Dreamworld, she'd know a bit more than me. Being the Keeper of the Door only does so much before you have to consult someone wiser."
> Gengetsu floats quietly, the shaking in the realm stopping.
> "Fine. If you know someone who knows about these realms, get them. I'll let my sister open the gate to the right world."
>Would Yuuka know more about this than we do? On;y say the line about asking her if she does.
No point in bringing her up if we don't think she'd know more tha we do.
> You are about 98% sure Yuuka knows far more than you do.
-
>"Let us head to the portal, then. I would advise you not to enter her world with me, though. She... may not react well if anyone aside from me enters it."
>Meaning Yuuka'd take them for the night, but they don't need to know our boss is someone like that.
>To the portal!
-
>"Let us head to the portal, then. I would advise you not to enter her world with me, though. She... may not react well if anyone aside from me enters it."
>Meaning Yuuka'd take them for the night, but they don't need to know our boss is someone like that.
>To the portal!
> You decide not to define 'reacting well'. The sisters take you to the portal.
> "Well... I dunno what world I need to open it to, so I'll just let you go through, then let it shift back to default by closing it, since you gotta have a way to see your own boss, and open it again in a little while." Mugetsu says.
-
>We should be able to re-dial this world from our side, shouldn't we?
-
>When alone, say "Sure hope Boss is in a good mood today..."
>Call Yuka up however we normally do.
(I say Yuka instead of Yuuka. For the reason why, go play Touhou Mother.)
-
>We should be able to re-dial this world from our side, shouldn't we?
>When alone, say "Sure hope Boss is in a good mood today..."
>Call Yuka up however we normally do.
(I say Yuka instead of Yuuka. For the reason why, go play Touhou Mother.)
> The answer to the problem is simple. Once the portal closes from Mugetsu's end, the portal goes back to default, which happens to be Yuuka' realm, because, in your theory, it is because Yuuka's interest in Gensokyo is greater than any other dream world, so the gate just defaults to her realm.
-
>Well, let's head through the portal to find boss.
>When we find her, if she isn't too busy; "Heya boss, I got wind of a little problem that could use your knowhow on dreamworlds, would you mind helping out with that?"
-
>Well, let's head through the portal to find boss.
>When we find her, if she isn't too busy; "Heya boss, I got wind of a little problem that could use your knowhow on dreamworlds, would you mind helping out with that?"
> You head through the portal end emerge outside Yuuka's dream mansion. Yuuka isn't outside, so you head inside and look for her.
> A short while later, you find Yuuka in one of the rooms filled with Sunflowers. You don't know how or why she grows them indoors, you blame it being her dimension.
> "Hmm? Know-how on Dreamworlds? Well, I guess something would have come up eventually that required me to tell you more about the gate." Yuuka says.
-
>Summarize the situation.
>"I came up with the idea of Gengetsu simply isolating the part of her world the gate is in, but wasn't sure if that would affect the gate any. Also, Gengetsu's destroying and remaking that world, which may also cause damage to the gate. I said that leaving just the portal area alone would probably be enough to keep it from harm, which is when Gengetsu said she doesn't want it there in the first place. Which is why I gave her the idea of isolating it."
-
>Summarize the situation.

Which is why I gave her the idea of isolating it."
> Yuuka listens, looking mildly interested.
> "I'm not too sure about how there is a reaction between what happens on one side of the gate and another, but there is a simple way to test. Let's go to the gate Elly, I'll use my power to grow flowers around the gate, and then try and grow them through the gate, on the other side. You tell me if it works."
-
>Nod. "A'ight, let's go try that."
>Let's roll, and see if her theory plays out.
-
>Nod. "A'ight, let's go try that."
>Let's roll, and see if her theory plays out.
> You follow Yuuka to the gate, and then walk through.
> A few moments later, flowers begin to sprout around the gate, but they almost instantly wither and die as well, so Yuuka's flower field doesn't proceed more than a few centimeters.
-
>Poke our head back through. "Yeah, they grow out, but they don't go any more than a few centimeters before crapping out like they hadn't been watered for years."
-
>Poke our head back through. "Yeah, they grow out, but they don't go any more than a few centimeters before crapping out like they hadn't been watered for years."
> "Interesting. That means one of two things, either they go through, but the power is weakened so they die, or they go through, but since they come from the Dream World, they die because they don't belong." Yuuka muses, before adding, "Weirder yet, this doesn't apply to myself. I don't weaken when I leave here, or instantly die, nor does my cutting."
> Yuuka thinks for a moment. "How about you try throwing some tiles through from your end, let's see how it works the other way. I have a couple more things I want to to try afterwards."
-
>"A'ight, better step to the side so I don't hit you though. Gotta be courteous after all."
>Once boss steps to the side, we'll pull back through, and fling a set of three tiles through.
-
>"A'ight, better step to the side so I don't hit you though. Gotta be courteous after all."
>Once boss steps to the side, we'll pull back through, and fling a set of three tiles through.
> Yuuka stands aside. "Not like they'd hurt me, but we can't test if I'm in the way." she comments.
> You fling tiles through the portal. Yuuka sticks her head out afterwards and says "The tiles are fine, well aside from smashing when they crash landed. Now, do it from this end, and I'll go your end."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "Arrite, let's try it that way."
>Let's go through, then wait for boss to move out of the way, then fling another set of three.
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "Arrite, let's try it that way."
>Let's go through, then wait for boss to move out of the way, then fling another set of three.
> You go back to Yuuka's dream world, while Yuuka goes to the outside, before you fling some tiles.
> Yuuka walks back in. "The tiles disintergrated into dust before they could even go a meter. It seems powers going through the portal from the Dream World are ruined, although they do have a slight effect for a few moments."
-
>Frown. "So if they bust the portal on their end, it'll bust it on my end too, huh?"
-
>Frown. "So if they bust the portal on their end, it'll bust it on my end too, huh?"
> "At the very least, it'll damage it." Yuuka says, after thinking, before adding, "I'm not sure how destruction would resonate through the gate anyway. At least, we know all of Gensokyo won't be in danger, but it might destroy the network between the Dream Worlds, and lock all the inhabitants inside their worlds."
-
>Frown. "Yeah, that's not something I can let happen, since it'll cut you off too. We'll need to get Gengetsu to see sense. Possibly by smacking her around."
-
>Frown. "Yeah, that's not something I can let happen, since it'll cut you off too. We'll need to get Gengetsu to see sense. Possibly by smacking her around."
> "I don't particularly want to be cut off either." Yuuka says. "I'll go with you, and shut down my portal for now. You know what it looks like when these two have their world open, right? You're my guide."
-
>Nod. "Yeah, it's a swirly pink-n-blue mix. Let's go."
>Let's head out, and when the portal shows that it's keyed to Mugetsu and Gengetsu's world, we'll head through with boss.
-
>Nod. "Yeah, it's a swirly pink-n-blue mix. Let's go."
>Let's head out, and when the portal shows that it's keyed to Mugetsu and Gengetsu's world, we'll head through with boss.
> You leave Yuuka's dreamworld, and Yuuka flinches for a moment, as if she focuses, and the portal changes to something that looks like a red face on a black background, which is distorting it's dimensions slightly as it sways left and right. It seems disturbing.
> A few minutes later, the pink and blue portal returns, and you go through it.
> Mugetsu and Gengatsu are waiting for you. Mugetsu is standing on the ground, and Gengetsu is flying around aimlessly.
> "What a drab world. No flowers." Yuuka comments right away.
-
(...Giygas? Okay then. I won't question Yuuka's taste in locking mechanisms.)
>"The one that's flying around is called Gengetsu, she's the one wanting to destroy and remake this world. The one standing around is her sister, Mugetsu, and the one that jacked the portal to get some help."
>Let's head down to Mugetsu with boss. "I'm back. This here's my boss, Yuuka Kazami. She knows a lot more about dreamworlds than I do, and is the leading expert on anything to do with gardening."
-
>Leave out the gardening part. It's not important, and we don't want to distract them from her knowledge of the functionality of dreamworlds.
-
(...Giygas? Okay then. I won't question Yuuka's taste in locking mechanisms.)

>Let's head down to Mugetsu with boss. "I'm back. This here's my boss, Yuuka Kazami. She knows a lot more about dreamworlds than I do, and is the leading expert on anything to do with gardening."
(Yes, Giygas, but no, that had nothing to do with Yuuka locking the door, it was because the default realm was shut, it defaulted to another, which happened to involve Giygas because... I'll let you speculate.)
>Leave out the gardening part. It's not important, and we don't want to distract them from her knowledge of the functionality of dreamworlds.
> You introduce Yuuka. Gengtsu doesn't seem to care much, although starts looking at her as she flies around, Mugetsu introduces herself and welcomes her, before explaining the situation again.
-
>Let's sit back until Mugetsu's finished filling boss in on everything. "So that's the speed of things chief, your thoughts?"
-
>Let's sit back until Mugetsu's finished filling boss in on everything. "So that's the speed of things chief, your thoughts?"
> Yuuka grins.
> "There's one way to find out if things that happen to the portal itself effect the other end. Stand on the other side of the portal Elly."
-
>"Okay then, just be careful."
>Let's head to the other side of the portal, and be careful just in case she plans to fire a master spark through it.
-
>"Okay then, just be careful."
>Let's head to the other side of the portal, and be careful just in case she plans to fire a master spark through it.
> "Don't worry. The only way these demons could do anything to me is eraseing the entire dimension and everything in it, including themselves." Yuuka says.
> You pass through the portal, and, a few moments later, see a crack form in the side of it. Nothing else happens, just a small chip.
> "Anything on this end?" Yuuka asks.
-
>"Just a small crack, nothing more than a chip. Still has me worried though, just what'd you do on that end?"
-
>"Just a small crack, nothing more than a chip. Still has me worried though, just what'd you do on that end?"
> "I jabbed the gate hard enough with my parasoul to create an identical chip." Yuuka says.
-
>Nod. "Alright, so anything that happens on that side happens to this side too. That just confirms what I was afraid of."
>Sigh. "We'll have to knock some sense into Gengetsu or something, because her antics could cause trouble for a lot of folks. I'd say being in control of an entire world's gone and went to her head. With you, it's justified because you're just that strong. But her? I doubt it."
-
>Nod. "Alright, so anything that happens on that side happens to this side too. That just confirms what I was afraid of."

> "Yes, but it's not my job to do that. You are the Guardian of the Gate, are you not? It's what I've hired you to do, protect the gate. Besides, I could take her in my sleep, she's not *that* strong. I think you could take her if you had to, especially with her sister backing you up." Yuuka says.
> "Of course, explain what you've found out if you wanna. I'd personally just bash her face in, but you're not me."
-
>"Hmm...I can just explain, then bust her head in."
>Grin, and give Malus a little flourish. "After all, you've taught me that when push comes to shove, might makes right."
>Sigh, and grin amusedly. "YOu're really startin' to rub off on me Boss, how long d'you think it'll take before I'm almost as bad as you are?" Let's have a laugh!
>Then head on through the portal.
-
>"Hmm...I can just explain, then bust her head in."
> "Yes. The law of the world is the strong survive. The winner is the one who writes the history, not the loser. The strong stand at the top." Yuuka says.
> "Being as bad as me is impossible." Yuuka says frankly, before admitting, "Unless you are a demonic youkai with as long a life, lack of morals, experiences, and power as me."
> You head back through the portal. Mugetsu is fretting over the chip in it, while her sister has vanished.
-
>"The gate still functions normally. That sort of minor damage isn't enough to affect it."
>"Okay, so it looks like isolating the gate in this world won't affect it elsewhere, but destroying the gate will. If Gengetsu is willing to settle for isolation, there shouldn't be any problems."
>"It may also be worth noting that if nobody here wants anyone else to enter, the gate won't open to here on the other side. The portal will still exist here, but if those here don't want others to enter, it will be exit-only."
>"WHere is Gengetsu?"
-
>"The gate still functions normally. That sort of minor damage isn't enough to affect it."
>"Okay, so it looks like isolating the gate in this world won't affect it elsewhere, but destroying the gate will. If Gengetsu is willing to settle for isolation, there shouldn't be any problems."

>"WHere is Gengetsu?"
> "That's a relief."
> "I'm not sure if she will settle for something that's not what she wants so easily."
> "Personally I'm fine with being isolated."
> "She flew off to rest on the island two to that direction." Mugetsu says, pointing in the moon's direction.
-
>"There's not much downside. It's even reversable if she decides at some point that she doesn't want to be isolated any longer."
>"Also it wouldn't destabilize and collapse all the dreamworlds like destroying to portal is likely to."
>Let's go, then."
>To Gengetsu!
-
>"There's not much downside. It's even reversable if she decides at some point that she doesn't want to be isolated any longer."
>"Also it wouldn't destabilize and collapse all the dreamworlds like destroying to portal is likely to."
>Let's go, then."
>To Gengetsu!
> "Yes, but try to get that logic through to my god-complex sister..." Mugetsu says.
> you and Mugetsu fly a couple of islands away from the portal to find Gengetsu standing on one of the islands, which has massive fault lines in it.
-
>"Woah. WHat're you doing?"
>"Okay, so isolating the portal will work just fine."
-
>"Wow, and here I thought boss could cause some destruction."
-
>"Wow, and here I thought boss could cause some destruction."
(I have a feeling that'll tick Yuuka off...)
-
She's not here.
-
>"Woah. WHat're you doing?"
>"Okay, so isolating the portal will work just fine."
> "I got bored. So I made an earthquake rupture this island."
> "Really? Well, I thought I told you. I don't want it isolated. I want it gone."
>"Wow, and here I thought boss could cause some destruction."
> Neither sister replies for a few moments, until Mugetsu speaks.
> "You were not in our world when she gave off her demonic aura, telling us not to mess with her. She could easily have defeated both of us together without lifting a finger."
-
>"And that's where we run into a problem. Anything that happens to the portal on this side, carries over to the other. Now, you know my job means I can't let anything happen to it, right?"
>"So the best thing that'll work for both sides is to split the portal off into a sorta sub-dimension that's separated from this one, but still kinda connected."
>Look to Mugetsu. "Now, you can do the same stuff as your sis here, right?"
-
>Don't say the 'my job' part.
-
>"And that's where we run into a problem.
>Don't say the 'my job' part.
> "Ah, so you're scared of what would happen if I destroyed the portal. Well, what your boss confirmed for me, is that it CAN be destroyed!" Gengetsu says.
> "But that's not as fun as destroying things!"
> Mugetsu shakes her head. "No. My powers differ from my sister's greatly. Instead of being able to destroy and re-create things, my power is to create powerful illusions, for example; this."
> Mugetsu is replaced by Yuuka. If you were not told that this was an illusion, you would have been fooled. It looks like Yuuka, smells like Yuuka, and has the same pressure Yuuka gives off.
-
>Stubborn one, isn't she?
Looks like the only thing this twerp'll listen to is getting smacked around.
-
>Stubborn one, isn't she?
Looks like the only thing this twerp'll listen to is getting smacked around.
> You conclude Gengetsu is stubborn.
> "My illusions are powerful enough to fool anyone, provided they don't know it's my doing, or they have some way to tell an illusion." Mugetsu continues, dispelling the Yuuka illusion.
-
>"Not bad. Almost had me going there for a minute too, if it wasn't for you tellin' me it was an illusion."
>Sigh. "She must really like destroying things though."
-
>"Not bad. Almost had me going there for a minute too, if it wasn't for you tellin' me it was an illusion."
>Sigh. "She must really like destroying things though."
> "My power is to create 'perfect illusions'." Mugetsu says.
> "Yeah, she's a demon after all. Demons tend to like primal urges."
-
>Hmm...'Perfect Illusions'.....There's gotta be a way this sorta thing can help. But how?
>Sigh. "Yeah, I know that pretty well."
>Maybe there's something else we can find to substitute...
-
>Hmm...'Perfect Illusions'.....There's gotta be a way this sorta thing can help. But how?
>Sigh. "Yeah, I know that pretty well."
>Maybe there's something else we can find to substitute...
> "Well, Yuuka's a youkai, not an actual demon. Although I guess Youkai are the earth equivalent." Mugetsu says.
-
>Chuckle grimly. "Boss is a real piece of work, even compared to other Youkai. Used to be a Shinigami y'know, so I can tell you that she hits all the vices. So even compared to other Youkai, she's as nasty as they come."
>Laugh a bit. "But hey, she helped me out of a big jam quite a while back, so she's aces in my book."
-
>"Why is it that you want the portal gone? DO you simply not like seeing it? Or is it something more? Is it that you want this world cut off, want it just for yourself and your sister, with nobody else able to enter?"
>If she doesn't like seeing it: "Well, it seems that your sister can handle that. She could easily form an illusion that nothing is there, could she not?"
>If it's others being able to enter:
>"You don't need to worry about that. As long as you don't want people coming into this world, they will not be able to. The portal acts based on the desires of those within the dreamworlds, only opening to a world if that world's inhabitents want it to. As long as you desire for nobody to enter, nobody will be able to enter. I'm kind of surprised it's still there at all, given how strongly you seem to want it gone, but even while it's there, nobody can use it to enter this world if you two don't want them to."
>If it's both, then say both things.
-

> "Interesting." Mugetsu says.

> "Illusions don't work if you know they are one, especially when you are the sister of the caster. She'd have to cast it without me knowing at all, or having a way to find out."
> "I know how the portal works. It's the fact it exists, that it appeared in my world with no right, that annoys me. At least I can destroy it and turn it into something useful in a new world."
-
>"And therein lies the rub. When you destroyed and remade it, you ended up turning it into a Dreamworld, which automatically caused the Dream Door to put a portal here too. That's just how Dreamworlds are."
-
>"And therein lies the rub. When you destroyed and remade it, you ended up turning it into a Dreamworld, which automatically caused the Dream Door to put a portal here too. That's just how Dreamworlds are."
> "Huh?"
> "She's saying you created it, just indirectly." Mugetsu says.
> She pauses.
> "Wait. If you destroy this world again, even if you destroy the door... won't that just make another one appear as you re-create the world, like last time?" Mugetsu thinks.
> "Uh.... I never thought of that."
-
>"Exactly. So there's no major reason to destroy it, since this world's been marked as a Dreamworld. You could use your abilities in a different way though, if you really want to change things up."
>"Now, hear me out, but you could leave the base foundation and the portal as is, and then rework everything else. It's kinda like taking a doll, and giving it a new outfit. The base skeleton's still there, but the appearance is new."
-
>"Exactly. So there's no major reason to destroy it, since this world's been marked as a Dreamworld. You could use your abilities in a different way though, if you really want to change things up."

> "So... the gate's existence is beyond my control then. Well, I guess I could go to the other side and destroy the one there, outside the dream worlds, but if there's people as strong as that Yuuka out there, I don't fancy my chances." Gengetsu says.
> The demon sighs.
> "I guess I got no choice. No point wasting energy destroying something that'll just come right back."
-
>Nod. "I don't blame ya, I've seen boss in action firsthand. She's a real nightmare. I've often wondered if she's more than just a Youkai, because no way could a normal Youkai have that much power. I'm thinking that her time as ruler of her own Dreamworld might have done a lot more for her than just having a place to have to herself."
>Sigh. "And yeah, there's other folks who are pretty damn strong too. There's one person who I used to work for prior to becoming a Gatekeeper who could really give her a good fight. And to be frank, I don't think you'd stand a chance against her, what with bein' a Demon and all. She hits harder the more sins you've accumulated y'know, so it's a pretty frightening prospect, even to me. I only barely managed to squeak out a win, and even that was because of an agreement we'd settled on prior to the fight."
-

> "..."
> "What is it sis?" Mugetsu asks.
> "You know, maybe this 'Gensokyo' is more fun than I thought. The gate serves a purpose, I guess. I won't remake the world for fun. I'll have a whole new one to have fun in!" Gengetsu says.
> "You don't mean you'll visit 'Gensokyo' and cause trouble..."
> "With all these strong people there? Of course I will!"
-
>Facepalm. Oy, this kid with the troublemaking already. "I'd wait a little while if I were you, they only just got done with an Incident."
>Grin a bit. "After all, it's no fun kicking folks when they can't fight back, right?"
-

>"You want to have a good time, right? Now, if boss is anything to go by, you want them to put up a good fight, yeah? Which means you should wait about a day or two before going around and picking fights. Then they'll be able to provide a satisfying enough fight."
-

> "Yeah, but I don't know who's around my power. At the very least I can kick em while they're down and see who has fighting spirit!"
-
>Who do we know of that would be a good fight for her aside from boss?
-
>Who do we know of that would be a good fight for her aside from boss?
> You imagine, if you had to pick someone out of who you've met and didn't fight, and therefor isn't worn out, that Sanae night be a good candidate, if she's around Reimu's power level.
> From what you know of vampires from Kurumi, Remilia's probably already recovered as well. As a gatekeeper, you imagine Meiling is fine too by now.
-
>"Hmmm...There's a couple people who've probably already recovered, or just plain didn't get involved. But I dunno if you'd want to fight them, they'd give even me a run for my money on a good day."
>Fistpalm. "Also, the moment you step in there, you can't properly exercise your full power, you gotta use Danmaku and Spellcards. But for folks like us, I've found they match stuff we've already been known to do in a fight, like my Boomerang Scythe technique, or my Tiles. It's actually a pretty fun way to fight really, because you get to have a rematch with folks you know are strong."
-

> "Eh, sounds more and more fun by the second. I already know how to use danmaku. Is there a purple haired shrine maiden and a witch in Gensokyo? They got dragged into our world once when Mugetsu was testing what the gate actually did, and we fought because we thought they were invaders. They were strong."
> That explains what happened on that day after Reimu and Marisa fought Yuuka.
-
>Nod. "So that's what happened back then..."
>"Well, she's not purple-haired anymore though, but she's around, both of 'em are in fact, and then some. I had a good brawl with Reimu- That's the shrine maiden y'see.- a few days back, so if you wanna fight her, I'd wait another day or two."
>Grin. "Would you believe she's dyed her hair a blackish-brown?"
-

-
>"Last time I saw her before that was when she showed up causing a ruckus at Boss's place, then she ended up in this place with you guys. She seemed pretty neutral towards the whole purple-hair thing back then, so I guess she just thought it was embarrassing one day."
>Nod. "But anyhow, I'd chill for a day or two, and wait for the stronger folks who did get involved to recover fully. This way, you'll be able to have a good time. If I can finagle some time off, I could probably even show you around."
-

> "But..." Gengetsu starts.
> "You still have to either fix this world to reformat it however you want, and that will tire you out either way." Mugetsu says.
> "Hnn... you're right."
-
>Nod. "This way things work out for everyone. The world here gets reworked how you like, Mugetsu gets to chip in her two cents on how it should be done, the portal stays intact, and you get to find some strong folks to fight after all's said and done. Pretty much everybody wins."
-

> "Except the people who lose to me!" Gengetsu says.
> "Wow, she actually has something else to think about other than destroying this dimension to redecorate." Mugetsu comments.
-
>"Glad we seem to have everything worked out."
-
>"Glad we seem to have everything worked out."

-
>"Well, technically Gensokyo isn't entirely my world either. I live in the same place as the Dream Door, which is in a sorta sub-dimension."
>Shrug. "But hey, home's where the heart is, as they say. I just hope she doesn't go too wild, some folks don't take too kindly to that sorta thing."
>Fistpalm. "A battle challenge tournament! This way, Gengetsu gets to fight strong opponents, and they don't have to worry about their places getting trashed in the doing!"
-

> "Eh, who cares." Gengetsu says. "All the same connected place to beat others up."
> "I don't think you can reign her wildness in. She did get us kicked off the moon..." Mugetsu says.
> "That sounds cool... but trashing places is fun too!" Gengetsu says.
-
>Sigh, and slump a bit. "I gotta wonder how you haven't gone insane over the years then."
-
>"Just be careful if you're causing trouble in Gensokyo. The shrine maiden and witch still make it their business to 'resolve incidents', and there's a couple others who often get involved, too."
-
>Sigh, and slump a bit. "I gotta wonder how you haven't gone insane over the years then."
> "I use my illusions on myself when she gets too annoying, to fool myself into thinking everything is OK. You ever heard of that 'My happy place' saying?" Mugetsu says.
>"Just be careful if you're causing trouble in Gensokyo. The shrine maiden and witch still make it their business to 'resolve incidents', and there's a couple others who often get involved, too."
> "Bah, what's the fun if there's no way to possibly lose."
-
>Sigh. "Just try to keep the collateral damage really low, some folks vacation there y'know."
-
>Sigh. "Just try to keep the collateral damage really low, some folks vacation there y'know."
> "But it's like a vacation for me! Don't worry, I won't destroy and re-make the dimension. I have this one!"
-
>Sigh and facepalm. "That's not what I'm worried about..."
>Let's give Mugetsu the sort of look that says 'I really feel for you man.'
-
>Sigh and facepalm. "That's not what I'm worried about..."
>Let's give Mugetsu the sort of look that says 'I really feel for you man.'
> "I'd still be on the moon if she didn't try and recreate that..."
-
>"True."
>Sigh. "It looks like we'll have to go out with her when things are set, so we can run damage control and keep the destruction to a minimum."
-
>"True."
>Sigh. "It looks like we'll have to go out with her when things are set, so we can run damage control and keep the destruction to a minimum."
> "If the people you mentioned out there are as powerful as you say they are, it shouldn't matter. I'll be with her anyway."
-
>"Well, might as well give everyone a heads-up about this."
>Head back to Gensokyo.
-
>But not without letting Boss know of course. She might even want in on things as they are, what with her love of a good fight.
-
>"Well, might as well give everyone a heads-up about this."
>Head back to Gensokyo.
>But not without letting Boss know of course. She might even want in on things as they are, what with her love of a good fight.
> You leave, and give Yuuka a quick update, before you start to head to Gensokyo.
> "Hey, Elly! What was all that fuss abou... ow... still hurting..." Kurumi says as you start to cross the lake of blood.
-
>"Y'mean the portal acting up? Turns out one of the folks in control of another dreamworld got bored and decided to raise a fuss, causing her sister to make the portal go weird in an effort to get help."
>Sigh. "Here in a few days, I'd hide somewhere if I were you, I managed to talk her out of busting up the Dream Door on her side, but she's gonna make for Gensokyo in a few days to find folks to fight."
-
>"Y'mean the portal acting up? Turns out one of the folks in control of another dreamworld got bored and decided to raise a fuss, causing her sister to make the portal go weird in an effort to get help."
>Sigh. "Here in a few days, I'd hide somewhere if I were you, I managed to talk her out of busting up the Dream Door on her side, but she's gonna make for Gensokyo in a few days to find folks to fight."
> "No, I meant all the fuss with you and Yuuka throwing stuff in there. She dosen't usually bother with the portal at all, you know?"
> "I'm a vampire. We can regenerate from as little as a single cell, and we can scatter ourselves into countless bats. I'm pretty much immortal except to my weaknesses." Kurumi says confidently.
-
>"Yeah, you'll wanna steer clear of this one regardless, she kinda doesn't know the meaning of 'restraint'."
-
>"Yeah, you'll wanna steer clear of this one regardless, she kinda doesn't know the meaning of 'restraint'."
> "Nor does Yuuka..." Kurumi complains.
-
>Shrug. "Actually, boss does know how to hold back, as much as you might not think. Gengetsu? She has literally no concept of it."
-
>Shrug. "Actually, boss does know how to hold back, as much as you might not think. Gengetsu? She has literally no concept of it."
> "I know she can hold back. That's what makes her SCARIER. She can cause that much pain and suffering, and enjoy it, and be holding back so much... it's not fair. I mean, Vampires are not weak, you know? They're among the strongest breed of youkai! That Remilia you mentioned sounded stronger than me, I'll admit, but I'm not weak!"
-
>Grin. "I was actually heading to Gensokyo to give everyone a heads-up, you wanna tag along? I was gonna swing part Remilia's place anyhow to let her know."
-
>Grin. "I was actually heading to Gensokyo to give everyone a heads-up, you wanna tag along? I was gonna swing part Remilia's place anyhow to let her know."
> "I can't leave this lake during the day. This lake's mist blots out the sun. Vampires disintegrate in sunlight."
-
>Do we know if it's morning in Gensokyo or not?
-
>Do we know if it's morning in Gensokyo or not?
> Technically, the Lake of Blood is part of Gensokyo, right on the border. It's hard to tell if it's morning or not by the blood-mists, which, as Kurumi stated is the reason for her being here, blot out the direct sunlight enough for it not to harm her. [Some still gets through, but the blood-mist heals Kurumi far far faster than the amount of sun getting through can damage her]
> However, you can tell it is some point in the day, as there is daylight, and the mists are thicker than at night-time.
-
>"Hmm...Well, I guess you could come with us when we head out, since I intend to delay her until the night, so she doesn't get any funny ideas about beating Remilia by using the sun."
-
>"Hmm...Well, I guess you could come with us when we head out, since I intend to delay her until the night, so she doesn't get any funny ideas about beating Remilia by using the sun."
> "Oh. Well, I think it's still about an hour until night-time. I'm pretty good at judging that~" Kurumi says. "Us Vampires are attuned to the night, after all."
-
>Shrug. "I guess you'll be fine then. Want me to leave a trail of tiles so you can find Remilia's Place? You can tell 'em you're a friend of mine, that should get you in the door somewhat."
>Grin. "I happen to have provided an means for her to have a little fun herself, she got involved in a little scheme of mine for the fun of it y'know."
-
> "Follow the tiles, eh?" Kurumi says, "And tell them your name."
-
>Nod. "That's the speed of things. I can call more than enough tiles to leave as markers for ya."
>Grin. "If you're looking to pit your strength against her, you'll be in for a doozy of a fight. I've seen her in action personally, she's good. Not as good as boss, but who is?"
-
>Nod. "That's the speed of things. I can call more than enough tiles to leave as markers for ya."
>Grin. "If you're looking to pit your strength against her, you'll be in for a doozy of a fight. I've seen her in action personally, she's good. Not as good as boss, but who is?"
> "Nonononono! I don't wanna fight her! I just wanna see her. See the difference between me and her."
-
>Shrug. "Whatever works for you, eh? I figured you'd wanna see how good she is for yourself. She sure was like that, wanted me to prove my scheme was worth getting involved in."
-
>Shrug. "Whatever works for you, eh? I figured you'd wanna see how good she is for yourself. She sure was like that, wanted me to prove my scheme was worth getting involved in."
> "H-How strong was she. You know how strong I am, after all." Kurumi says.
-
>"Hmm....Pretty strong."
>Does Kurumi even come close?
-
>"Hmm....Pretty strong."
>Does Kurumi even come close?
> "I guessed that. Even if I don't leave my lake much I've heard of the Scarlet Devil."
> No. You'd guess Kurumi would struggle to even beat someone a tenth of Remilia's power, unless she's been hiding her real strength in all your spars. That said, Kurumi claims she'd be stronger if she actually sucked live blood instead of drinking it from the lake, but she's too peaceful to do that, she may be an annoying brat of a vampire, but she's not EVIL.
-
>"If I had to be blunt, I'd say you'd have trouble with even someone about an eighth as powerful as her. Though the Spellcard System's a thing, so you might have a potential shot that way. Managed to beat Reimu at it, so you'd have a potential shot."
-
>"If I had to be blunt, I'd say you'd have trouble with even someone about an eighth as powerful as her. Though the Spellcard System's a thing, so you might have a potential shot that way. Managed to beat Reimu at it, so you'd have a potential shot."
> "I expected something like that, but my intention is far from wanting to fight."
-
>Nod. "Either way, I'll make that my first stop, and leave a trail of revolving tiles. Just bust 'em up as you follow 'em okay? Might need them in case I get in another fight."
>She can do that easily enough, right? Smashing a single tile every so often shouldn't be too hard for even her, right?
-
>Nod. "Either way, I'll make that my first stop, and leave a trail of revolving tiles. Just bust 'em up as you follow 'em okay? Might need them in case I get in another fight."
>She can do that easily enough, right? Smashing a single tile every so often shouldn't be too hard for even her, right?
> "Yeah."
> Vampires can easily smash tiles, even lesser ones.
-
>Nod. "Arrite, guess I'll get going. See you around!"
>Let's make for the Mansion, and leave a slowly revolving tile every so often, place far enough apart that they can be seen as waypoints of a sort.
-
> You head for the Scarlet Mansion, leaveing your tile trail as you go, by the time you get there, it is night-time.
> Meiling is awake at the gate. "Ah! You're alive! M'lady said you got taken by the Shinigami!"
-
>Grin a bit. "You think a little thing like that's gonna keep a fellow gatekeeper down? Used to be a Shinigami myself y'know, s'why I use a weapon like Malus here after all."
>Then sigh. "I actually came out here to give folks a heads-up on some possibly incoming trouble from a different dreamworld."
-
> "Ah. Well, the Mistress was somewhat worried about you. She doesn't like the Yamas messing with her moment of triumph. She also seemed to be curious if Yuuka is alright, seems she respects that youkai for some reason, despite being a Vampire. Never seen her respect any other youkai's powers except the Oni."
-
>Nod. "Yeah, boss is as lively as ever. And about your boss respecting her, it's probably because they're both strong. We know how it is, respecting someone strong enough to give you a good fight and all that. S'just how folks like us are."
>Grin. "Well, guess I should show her I'm doin' alright, eh? She probably won't be too happy about the incoming news, since she's probably one of the folks the trouble's gonna head for."
>Sigh again. "See, there was this other person from another dreamworld, she was fixin' to destroy and remake her dreamworld, despite her sister's protests. I ended up getting dragged into the middle of it and acting as a negotiator. Along the way, she ended up finding out about Gensokyo, and how there's a lot of strong folks here, so she's fixin' to head out and challenge folks for her own enjoyment, and to kill some boredom."
>Sigh yet again. "I like a good fight as much as the next guy, but she's almost as bad as Boss is when it comes to having a good fight."
-
>Nod. "Yeah, boss is as lively as ever. And about your boss respecting her, it's probably because they're both strong. We know how it is, respecting someone strong enough to give you a good fight and all that. S'just how folks like us are."

>Sigh yet again. "I like a good fight as much as the next guy, but she's almost as bad as Boss is when it comes to having a good fight."
> "You've not seem Mistress when she smells a good fight, have you? She's a little less blatant about it, but why do you think a prideful youkai such as Mistress followed your plan against Reimu? She wanted an excuse for a good fight." Meiling says.
-
>Chuckle a bit. "Well then, guess I should head on in and let her know."
>Fistpalm. "Oh yeah, there'll be a friend of mine showing up to meet Remilia, her name's Kurumi, she's a vampire too. See those tiles I left? They're so she can find her way here to meet you guys."
-
>Chuckle a bit. "Well then, guess I should head on in and let her know."
>Fistpalm. "Oh yeah, there'll be a friend of mine showing up to meet Remilia, her name's Kurumi, she's a vampire too. See those tiles I left? They're so she can find her way here to meet you guys."
> "There's more vampires in Gensokyo? I wonder how mistress will react." Meiling says, before she pushes open the gate with her foot lazily.
-
>"She actually hangs out on the edge of Gensokyo, around the boundary between here and where I live. Seeya on the way out."
>Let's head on in.
-
>"She actually hangs out on the edge of Gensokyo, around the boundary between here and where I live. Seeya on the way out."
>Let's head on in.
> "Ah. Explains why we don't know of her, a lot is unknown about the border."
> You head inside, and see Koakuma, the assistant of Patchouli, flying around, directing some fairy maids.
-
>Let's head over. "Heya there wings, know where the big cheese is?"
-
>Let's head over. "Heya there wings, know where the big cheese is?"
> "She's with Sakuya and Patchouli in the Library, but they told me to leave them be and look after the maids." Koakuma says, before adding sadly, "An impossible request for anyone but Sakuya or Remi..."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "Need a hand whipping 'em into shape? I'd like to think I've learned a bit from boss on how to do that."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "Need a hand whipping 'em into shape? I'd like to think I've learned a bit from boss on how to do that."
> "No, it's impossible because there's so many of them. Sakuya can just do everything herself anyway with her time powers, and Remilia is the one housing all the fairies, so they actually listen to her. Anyone else, you tell one fairy what to do, and they'll do it... until you look away, and they'll fly off and start playing around."
-
>We know how to whip a group like that into shape, don't we? After all, boss has rubbed off on us enough for us to pick up a little of her traits to a point.
-
>We know how to whip a group like that into shape, don't we? After all, boss has rubbed off on us enough for us to pick up a little of her traits to a point.
> You might be able to scare the fairies into staying on-task longer than Koakuma can, which would be messing around as soon as she looks away.
-
>Grin in a slightly sadistic way. "You say impossible, I say possible. it just takes the right kinda 'pressure', if you know what I mean."
-
>Grin in a slightly sadistic way. "You say impossible, I say possible. it just takes the right kinda 'pressure', if you know what I mean."
> "I don't like that look~" Koakuma says, backing off a little.
-
>Chuckle a bit. "Just a little something I picked up from boss~"
>Now let's turn to the fairy that seems to be the leader of this little group. Fairies tend to gather to the stronger members of their kind after all.
-
>Chuckle a bit. "Just a little something I picked up from boss~"
>Now let's turn to the fairy that seems to be the leader of this little group. Fairies tend to gather to the stronger members of their kind after all.
> It's hard to tell which fairy is in charge until you and Koakuma look away, and they are clearly gathered around a blonde fairy with larger wings than the others.
-
>Ramp up the smile a to a shade below our best impersonation of Yuuka's. "Target located~"
>Let's see about trapping her in a cage of tiles.
-
>Ramp up the smile a to a shade below our best impersonation of Yuuka's. "Target located~"
>Let's see about trapping her in a cage of tiles.
> You cause Koakuma to shy away from you again, as you trap the lead fairy in tiles.
> "Hey! Lemme out! I'll beat you up good!" the fairy starts protesting from inside the tiles.
-
>Let's see about bringing the tile cage closer. "Now now, you wouldn't want me to bring out my little friend, would you~?"
-
>Let's see about bringing the tile cage closer. "Now now, you wouldn't want me to bring out my little friend, would you~?"
> "You'll let me out?" the fairy asks. Clearly it's tiny fairy mind misunderstands.
-
>Let's slowly make the cage shrink in on her. "I think you misunderstand."
>"But, if you can get the others to listen to Koa, then I think I can let you loose."
>Then open a small panel so she can see our Yuuka-esque smile. "Otherwise, we might be having a new kind of jam for dinner. And you get to be the ingredients~"
-
>Let's slowly make the cage shrink in on her. "I think you misunderstand."
>"But, if you can get the others to listen to Koa, then I think I can let you loose."
>Then open a small panel so she can see our Yuuka-esque smile. "Otherwise, we might be having a new kind of jam for dinner. And you get to be the ingredients~"
> "Hey! I'm gettin BIGGER! I'm so gonna stomp on your fairy-catching head!"
> "No way we'll listen to the Office Lady! She has as much charisma as a potato!"
> "Jam is nice~"
-
>Sigh. Silly fairies. "You misunderstand me again."
>Bring it up to full-on Yuuka impression, complete with holding Malus like she holds her parasol, and some pretty ominous killing intent. "What I mean is that you will become the jam~"
>Then bring it around by making the tiles actually contract around her like Yuuka sometimes does with her vines. "Well, are you going to listen, or will I have to make a messy example of you~?"
-
> The fairy seems to not get it until the tiles actually start hurting, at which point she actually says something half smart.
> "Go on. I'll respawn somewhere and I won't even have to work here anymore!"
-
>Smirk a bit. "Who said anything about killing you? No, I can easily cause enough pain that even your little fairy mind will crack from it all~"
>"After all, I've learned from someone even fairies don't forget."
-
>Smirk a bit. "Who said anything about killing you? No, I can easily cause enough pain that even your little fairy mind will crack from it all~"
>"After all, I've learned from someone even fairies don't forget."
> "I don't get it."
-
>"Don't tell me you don't know about Yuuka Kazami? What a pity, but it looks like I've found her a new plaything."
>Let's see about setting the tiles so one in an unprotected spot starts spinning in a way that won't kill, but will be sure to make her feel quite a lot of pain.
>But, not enough so that she passes out.
-
>"Don't tell me you don't know about Yuuka Kazami? What a pity, but it looks like I've found her a new plaything."
>Let's see about setting the tiles so one in an unprotected spot starts spinning in a way that won't kill, but will be sure to make her feel quite a lot of pain.
>But, not enough so that she passes out.
> "Ruuka Hamzami?" the fairy asks.
> "Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow this reminds me of that time I got caught in that water-wheel thing ow ow ow ow"
-
>Now make a few others start doing the same, but in opposite directions.
>"Oh dear. She certainly won't take too kindly to you messing up her name like that. Looks like I'll have to punish you a bit~"
-
>Now make a few others start doing the same, but in opposite directions.
>"Oh dear. She certainly won't take too kindly to you messing up her name like that. Looks like I'll have to punish you a bit~"
> "It's hard to make out hard names with these tiles -ow- in the way~" the fairy says, before you hear her wimper 'meanie'.
-
>Now set a few others to vibrate in a massage-like way. So she's getting both pain, and relief at the same time.
>Then slip a grin at Koa. "Boss loves this trick, mixing pain and pleasure."
-
>Now set a few others to vibrate in a massage-like way. So she's getting both pain, and relief at the same time.
>Then slip a grin at Koa. "Boss loves this trick, mixing pain and pleasure."
> The fairy is silent besides making weird 'hurururururururururrurururur' sounds.
> Koa is silent. She seems both horrified yet interested.
> For that matter, the other fairies have all flown off in panic by this point.
-
>Now set all the tiles to switch between spinning, and vibrating every so often.
>"Nice little show, isn't it? Too bad the others got scared off. We'll just have to round 'em up later."
-
>Now set all the tiles to switch between spinning, and vibrating every so often.
>"Nice little show, isn't it? Too bad the others got scared off. We'll just have to round 'em up later."
> W-W-ai-t-t-t... the others ran off?"
-
>"Tch, looks like it at least. Not much of a problem since I can just round up more later. I didn't have too much on my plate aside from being a messenger anyhow."
-
>"Tch, looks like it at least. Not much of a problem since I can just round up more later. I didn't have too much on my plate aside from being a messenger anyhow."
> "Then go deliver ya message and stop bullying fairies!"
-
>Smirk a bit. "I decided I'd help out a little and whip you lazy bums into shape."
-
>Smirk a bit. "I decided I'd help out a little and whip you lazy bums into shape."
> "Well ain't you just as lazy? You're not doing your job either! What right do you have to do this to me?"
-
>Set the tiles to vibrating, and just leave her like that while we go find Remilia.
-
>Set the tiles to vibrating, and just leave her like that while we go find Remilia.
> You hear the fairy bumping around the tile-cage as she gets battered about the vibrateing sides and base of the cage.
> You head to the Library, and, when you knock, the door opens.
-
>Raise an eyebrow, and head on in. "Hello? I came to deliver a little heads-up to you guys."
-
>Raise an eyebrow, and head on in. "Hello? I came to deliver a little heads-up to you guys."
> You can hear distant voices. You forgot how huge this place is. It sounds they are on the far side of the Library.
-
>We may as well head over there then.
-
>We may as well head over there then.
> You head over to the area where they are noises, and see Remilia and Patchouli. Remilia mentions a 'seal' before she notices you have arrived, and the two clam up.
> "Still alive, I see?" Remilia says.
-
>Grin a bit. "Yup. Used to be a Shinigami myself, before I quit that and became a Gatekeeper."
>"Anyhow, s'time to get to brass tacks. Earlier today, the Dream Door started acting up. it's only done that once before, back when Reimu and Marisa had just managed to beat boss a long while back. Turns out, there's two demons in another dreamworld. The younger one was making the door act that way as a call for help. As it turned out, her older sister was getting...Well, 'rowdy', so to speak. I managed to talk a little sense into her though, with the younger sister's help. Only thing is, now she's plannin' on visiting Gensokyo in a few days to pit her own might against the strong folks that live in Gensokyo."
>Sigh. "So I'm going around Gensokyo, giving folks a heads-up."
-
>Grin a bit. "Yup. Used to be a Shinigami myself, before I quit that and became a Gatekeeper."

>Sigh. "So I'm going around Gensokyo, giving folks a heads-up."
> "Ah... interesting. Might be some more fun soon then, eh, Patchouli?" Remilia asks.
> "Lady Remilia! Lady Remilia!" Koakuma says, panicing as she flies into the room.
> "What is it?" Remilia asks.
> "Another vampire showed up!"
-
>"Ah, that'll be Kurumi. I was telling her about the folks I met, and she wanted to meet you guys."
>Foreheadpalm. "I forgot to tell you about her Koa, I told Hong, but not you."
-
>"Ah, that'll be Kurumi. I was telling her about the folks I met, and she wanted to meet you guys."
>Foreheadpalm. "I forgot to tell you about her Koa, I told Hong, but not you."
> "Oh, I wondered how she got past China." Koakuma says.
> Kurumi enters the Library sheepishly.
> "Elly... why is there a fairy trapped in tiles?" she asks.
> Hearing this seems to not bother Remilia at all.
> At this point Sakuya appears holding tea. She seems not bothered by Kurumi's claim either.
-
>Shrug. "Figured I'd take a little time off to try and whip some of 'em into shape. They weren't really listening to wings here after all, and I was feelin' a bit impish." Gesture towards Koa.
-
>Shrug. "Figured I'd take a little time off to try and whip some of 'em into shape. They weren't really listening to wings here after all, and I was feelin' a bit impish." Gesture towards Koa.
> "Oh. OK. Seems like she was enjoying herself, she was bouncing off the sides." Kurumi says.
-
>"Well, I'll set it to change here in 5...4...3...2...1."
>Set it so the tiles spin painfully in a way that's sure to let bits of her screaming filter in from even this distance. But, not enough to force a respawn either.
>Chuckle. "See?"
-
>"Well, I'll set it to change here in 5...4...3...2...1."
>Set it so the tiles spin painfully in a way that's sure to let bits of her screaming filter in from even this distance. But, not enough to force a respawn either.
>Chuckle. "See?"
> It's not screaming, but 'ow's which are audible.
> "You spend too much time with Yuuka."
-
>Shrug. "Eh, it happens."
>Now set the tiles to both spin, and vibrate.
>And while we're at it, move the tiles so they carry their occupant to us.
-
>Shrug. "Eh, it happens."
>Now set the tiles to both spin, and vibrate.
>And while we're at it, move the tiles so they carry their occupant to us.
> "I guess you do spend time around your employer. I spend a lot of time with Mistress." Sakuya says.
> The fairy going 'uwauwauauauauauauawa' now floats into the room, encased still.
> "I feel dizzy..."
-
>Now add some wild rotation so she goes tumbling end-over-end as well.
>"How about a little experiment then? Let's see how much she can take before she loses it? She was the one behind the fairies not obeying, so we can consider this a little bit of a punishment game~ Punishment for her, game for us~"
-
>Now add some wild rotation so she goes tumbling end-over-end as well.
>"How about a little experiment then? Let's see how much she can take before she loses it? She was the one behind the fairies not obeying, so we can consider this a little bit of a punishment game~ Punishment for her, game for us~"
> "She was the one behind that group. Not all of them." Koakuma reminds you.
> "If I actually ate anything I'd probably be sick..." the fairy groans between 'ow's.
-
>Shrug. "Eh, either way you look at it, she was still behind some of 'em not obeying."
>Now set them to close in on her like wrapping paper, and have 'em keep doing the same.
-
>Shrug. "Eh, either way you look at it, she was still behind some of 'em not obeying."
>Now set them to close in on her like wrapping paper, and have 'em keep doing the same.
> You can't really turn a soild floor tile into wrapping paper.
-
(I meant for it to enclose on her, like we were wrapping her in them.)
-
(I meant for it to enclose on her, like we were wrapping her in them.)
(A floor tile is pretty large, I view them like those large garden patio tiles, although I guess Elly can summon smaller ones too. A fairy is also pretty small. Size of a five-year old at best. Tiles are also kinda... square/rectangular, so are a bit hard to make form-fitting)
-
>Let's swap the tiles for smaller ones, and then encase her in 'em as closely as we can.
>Then, set them to spinning, vibrating, and her to whirling in all sorts of ways.
-
>Let's swap the tiles for smaller ones, and then encase her in 'em as closely as we can.
>Then, set them to spinning, vibrating, and her to whirling in all sorts of ways.
> You do more than swap them, you make each tile split into four smaller ones. Swapping them would give her chance to escape!
> "Brbrbrbrbrbrbrbrbruuuuuuur" the fairy goes.
-
>"Heh, I can't think of anymore ideas. What do you guys think?"
-
>"Heh, I can't think of anymore ideas. What do you guys think?"
> Sakuya holds up a knife. "Usually I use disobedient ones as target practice."
-
>Grin. "I think I got just the idea then."
>We should be able to shoot the fairy up into the air, and out of the tiles, right?
-
>Grin. "I think I got just the idea then."
>We should be able to shoot the fairy up into the air, and out of the tiles, right?
> You would have to remove the tiles above the fairy, but yes, you just move the tiles to throw her up like a catapult.
-
>"I'll launch her like a catapult, and you peg 'er in midair. That sound good?"
-
>"I'll launch her like a catapult, and you peg 'er in midair. That sound good?"
> "It works. I can show you how accurate I am as well. No vital points, she needs to go back to work, after all, and not re-appear somewhere over the Misty Lake or something."
-
>Nod. "A'ight. On three?"
>"One...Two..Three!"
>Fire the fairy into the air the moment we hit the three count!
-
>Nod. "A'ight. On three?"
>"One...Two..Three!"
>Fire the fairy into the air the moment we hit the three count!
> The fairy gets shot up into the air, she looks happy to be free, until she notices Sakuya holding knives, before a three knives hit her in mid-air. One to her left knee, one to her right arm, and the third in her gut, but missing any organs. The fairy falls to the ground out cold from the pain.
> "That was amusing!" Remilia says. "Fairies who do not behave and do the work they are given in return for staying in my mansion earn what is coming, after all."
-
>Chuckle a bit. "I know, right? Nice aim by the way."
-
>Chuckle a bit. "I know, right? Nice aim by the way."
> Koakuma and Kurumi looks mildly bothered by the topic, but Sakuya, Remilia and you pay them no heed. Patchouli has her head stuck in a book.
> "I told you, I do not miss." Sakuya says.
-
>They must not like a little casual sociopathy then.
>"Ah well, guess it's about time I head to the other places and warn them too. See you guys when that nutcase wants to find fights. You behave yourself now, okay Kurumi?"
>Let's head on out to the gate.
-
>They must not like a little casual sociopathy then.
>"Ah well, guess it's about time I head to the other places and warn them too. See you guys when that nutcase wants to find fights. You behave yourself now, okay Kurumi?"
>Let's head on out to the gate.
> Everyone bids you farewell, except Patchouli, who seems to be mubleing about noise in the Library, although she does look up before you leave and nod curtly.
> You leave out of the front gate, Meiling sleeping, although it *is* nighttime.
-
>Sigh. "Well, this is gonna be quite the hassle. Hope they don't mind gettin' woke up to be warned."
>Well, let's make for the Mountain now, we can let Tenshi know if we can manage it too.
-
>Sigh. "Well, this is gonna be quite the hassle. Hope they don't mind gettin' woke up to be warned."
>Well, let's make for the Mountain now, we can let Tenshi know if we can manage it too.
> "Ummmm..." Meiling groans.
> You head towards Youkai mountain, with the main to tell someone who lives in Heaven about a demon coming.
-
>Try not to chuckle about the irony of it all. "Man...Today's been one hectic day, hasn't it Malus?"
>We'll warn the folks find on the way as we go.
-
>Try not to chuckle about the irony of it all. "Man...Today's been one hectic day, hasn't it Malus?"
>We'll warn the folks find on the way as we go.
> As you head up the mountain, a crow Tengu appears like a flash in front of you, holding a notebook.
> "Ayayayayayaya... so this is the stranger who got kidnapped by a Shinigami, and concucted that plan to beat Reimu." the stranger says.
-
>Chuckle. "Another tengu, eh? Fine by me, this save me time in spreading the word I guess."
>Nod. "But yeah, name's Elly. All that fuss was just my vacation enjoyment though."
>Beat.
>"Well, getting shanghai'd by teach wasn't part of the plan. But it all worked out anyways."
-
>Chuckle. "Another tengu, eh? Fine by me, this save me time in spreading the word I guess."

>Beat.
>"Well, getting shanghai'd by teach wasn't part of the plan. But it all worked out anyways."
> "Vacation, eh?" the Tengu says, jotting furiously, before taking out a camera and seemingly taking shots from multiple angles at once [You get the feeling your skirt moved too for a moment, but on inspection it's in the same position as before]
> "Aya Shameimaru. Crow Tengu, fastest being in Gensokyo, and owner, reporter, publisher, and writer of the Bunbunmaru, Gensokyo's largest newspaper!" the Tengu says.
> You recall Yuuka mentioning the 'Bunbunmaru' before when it came to news, and someone called Aya.
[Announcement: I have my next plan in the works, however, this one will be a slower-paced quest, updating maybe twice a week, but should, if I can arrange things, have more effort put in from my end than simply text. I am aware that my quests update very quickly, so at times people don't get a say, it's because I get carried away with the story!]
-
I'd say not to do more than text for one of these.
>...She just took a panty shot almost without us noticing, didn't she?
-
>"Well, thought i might as well warn you... There's someone showing up from the dream world to cause havoc and another incident in a couple of days."
>Find some way to distract Aya, then look through her camera and delete any inappropriate shots as quickly as possible.
Distraction ideas:
"Hey look, a fight!" (Stealthily swipe her camera as she takes off)
"I heard you run a newspaper." (Try to get her to sit down, put the camera down, and then inspect it while she prattles on.)
Tell her about your entire vacation. (While you're talking, see if you can smoothly grab the camera and inspect it.)
Tell her more details about Mugetsu and Gengetsu. (See part 3.)

(Well, looks like we're going for distraction idea # 4, then.) :P
>"Well... long ago, when that lazy shrine maiden still had purple hair, and in a whole different Gensokyo with people who i bet you've never seen or heard of... Two interlopers busted into the dream world. They were the shrine maiden, and her partner in crime, the black-white magician. Except back then, she wore purple. Odd, because i've heard that those 2 were originally enemies. Being the guardian of the Dream Gate and all, i couldn't just let them by. So we fought. This was before the spellcard rules came into effect, so i could have been badly hurt. As it is, though, i'd just gone through a torture session with my boss, so i was weakened. Reimu beat the tar out of me, along with Marisa. Then, they headed into the gate to my boss's place. They also woke her up. She was not happy. Having just got out of bed and all, she wasn't at full power, or she could have turned them into grease stains on her walls. Instead, they gave her a pretty solid thrashing... TWICE. Not cool. On the way out though, something happened, and they ran into these two demons in another Dreamworld. Their names were Mugetsu and Gengetsu. Gengetsu seems half insane. She got them kicked off the moon because of her abilities to destroy things, and then create them anew in however it suits her. Bottom line is, they were sort of an unexpected fight, and the hardest one the shrine maiden had faced during that incident. And yeah, THEY'RE coming to Gensokyo."
>During this, try and pickpocket Aya's camera.

>During this, try and pickpocket Aya's camera.
[It would be outside Aya's character to not want to follow up on a scoop! Mentioning a story is going to get her interested.]
> You hear Aya furiously jotting in her notebook, and use the chance to try and get her camera as she does so.
> However, Aya's keen eyes note your movement, and, in a flash, a gale-wind blows around Aya as she does a pirrouette and jumps a few feet back. Aya is now holding a maple-leaf like fan in one hand.
> "Or maybe the attempted theft of my camera can take the front page?" she says. "Crows have good eyesight, and I wasn't kidding when I said I'm the fastest in Gensokyo. Even if I didn't notice you moving, I'd notice the camera shifting and react before you could move it a centimeter."
> Aya folds her arms. "Let's put it this way, they say that the half-ghost can cover 200 Yojana in the time it takes for her to slash once, and I've seen it with my own eyes. To do that in the time of a slash would mean she would reach speeds like this..."
> Aya claps her fan and notebook together.
> "Seventy times faster than that sound took to reach your ears. Put simply, my top speed is more than seventy times faster than sound moves. I could drop you dead before you even heard me step off the ground I'm on now if I wanted to."
> The crow smiles sweetly. "So let's not try to steal from someone who is myriads times faster than you can even comprehend."
[In theory, Aya is potentially one of the scariest characters there are. Especially since Force is linked to Velocity, so even if her actual strength isn't much, if she's moving at Byond Hypersonic speeds it doesn't matter. Makes you wonder if Youmu's swords are special or if it's the speed Youmu moves that makes the things she cannot cut so few.]
-
>"Okay, we'll do it this way, then: get rid of the... explicit picture you took of me, or I might just mention your name to the boss next time I see her."
-
>"Okay, we'll do it this way, then: get rid of the... explicit picture you took of me, or I might just mention your name to the boss next time I see her."
> "Where did you get the impression I did that?" Aya says. "I know I moved around taking photos faster than your eyes could track me and all, but no need to throw around accusations like that!"
> Aya looks confident, before saying "Maybe you couldn't see me moving, but you felt me moving... yes, moving at those speeds does whistle up some wind."
-
>Raise an eyebrow slightly, with the hint of a smirk. "Kinda pointed denial there, hm?"
>"I used to be a Shinigami y'know, and being a Gatekeeper means I have good perception. So I'd like to think I can pick up on the subtle things."
>If this little bluff pays off, we'll catch her in her own web.
-

>If this little bluff pays off, we'll catch her in her own web.
> "I'm a swift-moving Journalist of a realm where almost everyone wears a skirt. It's a frequent accusation." Aya says.
-
>"Well, if you really didn't take any, you won't mind showing me the pictures, then, would you?"
>If yes: Keep a sharp eye on her and make sure she doesn't try to skip past a picture.
>Skips a picture: Don't say a word, but make sure that the boss beats her up later.
>Doesn't skip a picture: "Huh. OK... i'd better get going."
>If no: "Well... guess i should probably get going. If i were you, though, I'd watch my back. I'll tell Boss to get your newspaper. She probably won't be too happy if she spots anything... untoward. Well, bye!"
>Head towards Tenshi.
-

>Head towards Tenshi.
> "I can't show you the pictures until they're developed..." Aya says, pulling out a reel of film from the back of her camera.
> As you leave, Aya sighs, and complains about 'Why does everyone treat me like this?'
> You keep heading up the mountain, until you reach the peak.
-
>"Oi, Tenshi, you awake?"
-
>"Oi, Tenshi, you awake?"
>What time of day is it?
>If Response Given: "I have something important i need to tell you!"
>If No Response: Find Aya and either tell her some more about our vacation, or pester her so that she knows how it feels to be being constantly nagged.
(I'll leave this choice up to everyone else, if there's no response. Or you could just ignore my ideas...)

(I'll leave this choice up to everyone else, if there's no response. Or you could just ignore my ideas...)
> It is night-time.
> There is no response, at least from Tenshi. A bolt of lighting narrowly misses you, followed by Iku's voice saying 'Go Away'.
-
>"Sheesh, I show up to warn you guys, and this is the thanks I get?"
-
>"Sheesh, I show up to warn you guys, and this is the thanks I get?"
> "When I came down to warn people a few years ago everyone tried to fight me." Iku says.
-
>"Well, I'll just let you know the deal then, okay?"
>"Fact of the matter is, there's gonna be some folks from another dreamworld showing up here in a few days. One of 'em is a bit batty, and she'll be looking for fights wherever she can get 'em. Especially if they're strong folks like you or Tenshi."
>Beat.
>"Oh yeah, tell her something for me, would you? Tell her 'Thanks for helping out, hope you had as much fun as I did'."
-

> "No-one can get up here unless someone up here lets them in, or they're a Shinigami." Iku says. "We're in no danger whatsoever."
-
>"With how batty that one is, I wouldn't be surprised if she broke open her own path. So just a little heads-up."
>"Well, cheers."
>Let's head back down the mountain, and see about stopping off at the shrine here.
-
>"With how batty that one is, I wouldn't be surprised if she broke open her own path. So just a little heads-up."
>"Well, cheers."
>Let's head back down the mountain, and see about stopping off at the shrine here.
> "If anyone is dumb enough to do that there is a small army of exceptionally powerful Celestials that can only die by the Scythe of a Shinigami, not to mention other beings, like me." Iku says.
> You start to head down the mountain, and stop outside the Moyria Shrine. There is a green-haired miko in white and blue outside the shrine, waving farewell to a couple of crow Tengu that are leaving.
-
>If only she knew...
>Well, let's head over. "Yo. So you're that other shrine maiden who could've gotten involved with things a few days back, huh?"
-
>If only she knew...
>Well, let's head over. "Yo. So you're that other shrine maiden who could've gotten involved with things a few days back, huh?"
> "Hmm? Yes, I am a Shine Maiden. I'm Sanae Kochiya, Shrine Maiden and Wind Priestess of the Moriya Shrine."
-
>"Name's Elly, I keep tabs on the Dream Door, a portal to other worlds known as Dream Worlds. I bet you were probably wondering what was going on a few days ago, right?"
-
>"Name's Elly, I keep tabs on the Dream Door, a portal to other worlds known as Dream Worlds. I bet you were probably wondering what was going on a few days ago, right?"
> Is this linked to Sakuya showing up and the weather?"
-
>Nod. "Yup. Fact of the matter is, it was all a little scheme to get Reimu motivated enough for a little spellcard duel. She beat me a long while ago, back when she was still just a purple-haired little kid in over-sized robes. So since I was on vacation that day, I figured I'd enjoy myself like the locals. By starting a minor 'Incident', if one could even call it that."
>Grin. "I gotta say, it was pretty fun gathering up the folks to make it a possibility. Sorry you couldn't join in the fun though, I didn't want any outside factors mucking things up, and with how there's more than one incident resolver, I couldn't really risk getting the wrong person drawn out."
-

> "Wait. Purple haired?" Sanae says. "I haven't been in Gensokyo for more than about three years."
> "If I was involved I'd probobly be on Reimu's side unless Kanako was the culprit..." Sanae says. "Even then, the UFO incident was technically Kanako's fault too."
-
>"Yeah, and I didn't want Kanako involved. Given her history, I didn't want to risk her hijacking it for her own ends."
-
>Nod. "And yeah, that brown's not Reimu's natural hair color either. Turns out that it's dye. Can you believe it?"
-
>"Yeah, and I didn't want Kanako involved. Given her history, I didn't want to risk her hijacking it for her own ends."
> Sanae does not respond in voice, she just sighs and nods a little.
-
(Missed a command there mate.)
-
(It seems you posted while I was, but I didn't get notification like you should when that happens :/)
>Nod. "And yeah, that brown's not Reimu's natural hair color either. Turns out that it's dye. Can you believe it?"
> Hmm... I have some trouble. Isn't she too poor to afford dyes?"
-
> "Maybe that's WHY she's poor. She spends all her money on dyes. Either that, or she's getting them without paying somehow."
-
> "Maybe that's WHY she's poor. She spends all her money on dyes. Either that, or she's getting them without paying somehow."

-
>"Eh. Doesn't matter. What's more important is a heads up I'm spreading around so we won't be all caught off guard by the demon who's coming to pick a few fights just to have fun."
>Tell same narrative we told Aya.
-
>Shrug. "Maybe she makes it herself? I dunno."
>Fistpalm. "Oh yeah, remembered the other reason why I came here."
>"Here in a few days, Gensokyo's gonna have a pair of visitors from another Dreamworld. One of them, Gengetsu, is gonna be lookin' to test her might against people. And she's a real troublesome kid too, stubborn and willful to the extreme. The other one, Mugetsu, is her younger sister. She's probably gonna be coming along to help keep tabs on her big sister. I'll probably tag along too as added supervision."

> You tell Sanae about Aya.
> "She's always like that. She's pretty much the embodiment of a Tengu, strong and prideful, and not afraid to tell everyone else about it."
-
>Shrug. "Well, still wantin' to spread the word regardless. Given Kanako's record, I wouldn't be surprised if she sent you out to do her fighting for her if she got wind of all this."
>Nod. "Well, see you around sometime I guess. I've filled you in on the cause of the last minor 'incident'- The one behind it all was me by the way, though there were others helping out.-, I've passed along the heads-up, so my work in this little area is done."
>Fistpalm. "Oh, and if you run into that wolf tengu, Momiji, tell her about it too willya? I didn't run into her on the way up like last time I came through here."
>Okay, that's the Mansion, Bhava-Agra, and the Moriya Shrine warned. Where else are we missing...Well, Higan's gonna be safe, on accounts of how that wacky river works.
-

> "Ah, finally, I get a streight answer. Thanks for putting the Red-White in her place."
> "You ran into Aya, all of Gensokyo will know tomorrow. Momiji lives in the same village as Aya anyway, she's probably already aware."
-
>Grin. "Hey, she beat me up once, so turnabout's fair play after all."
>Nod. "Either way, folks are gonna be ready now, eh? Provided they actually pay attention to that newspaper though."
>Sigh. "But if she did snap any...'untoward photos', then I feel sorry for her."

-
>Raise an eyebrow. "Well, here's hoping she'll not fall back into old habits, eh? After all, if she was like that, she's probably got a collection or something going, and someone who isn't from gensokyo, like myself, would probably be quite the addition."
>Sigh. "Either way, here's hopin', eh? See ya around!"
>Let's fly off for the Hakurei Shrine now.
-

> "I doubt it. Lord Tenma's authority is absolute in Tengu Society. If Aya goes against it her position in Tengu Society will be completely compromised to the point she may be outcast or imprisoned. The Tengu are very strict with their rules." Sanae says.
> You begin the long flight back towards the Hakurei Shrine. It is worth noting that you'll cross the Forest of Magic on your way there due to the Geography of Gensokyo, so if you wish to visit Marisa, it would be reasonable to do so before going to the Hakurei Shrine.

>May as well then, eh?
>Let's stop by Marisa's.
-
>May as well then, eh?
>Let's stop by Marisa's.
> You fly to Marisa's house.
> You cannot see any sign of Marisa outside or around the house, so you guess she is either elsewhere or inside.
-
>Any lights on?
-
>Any lights on?
> You don't see any...
> There is suddenly a flash of light for a moment. Like a small explosion.
> "Boom! Da~ze!" Marisa says happily.
-
>"And what exactly was that for?"
>look annoyed, then, when she responds, tell her about Mugetsu and Gengetsu, and ask: "Don't suppose they ring any bells?"
>wait for answer
Ignore this next one.
Overused joke.
>Get arms from chest
I'm being ironic, as I want to punch the people who use this one after seeing it for the 50 billionth bloody time.
If anyone's wondering, this is being posted from my iPhone.

> Marisa is inside her house. You are outside, so she can't hear you complain.
> There is another explosion inside the house.
> When you mention Mugetsu and Gengetsu you hear Marisa. "Nope. Don't remember them, by name at least. Situation sounds kinda familiar though."
-
>Go inside
>"You sure you don't remember? They remember you. And Reimu. Back when you both still wore purple. And after you broke into my boss's place."
>Raise eyebrows
>"Ringing any bells now? One, i guess, might refer to them as the Extra challenge you hadn't expected."

> "Nah, my mind was still full of Yuuka's magic, I wasn't paying attention." Marisa says. She is holding some device which looks like it exploded in her face, judgeing by the black marks and ruined hair.
-
> "Nah, my mind was still full of Yuuka's magic, I wasn't paying attention." Marisa says. She is holding some device which looks like it exploded in her face, judgeing by the black marks and ruined hair.
>"What's that you're holding?"
-
>"What's that you're holding?"
> "Oh, I'm just tryin' to find any material I can use to make the Hakkero stronger, and more attuned to my magic. Explosions are good signs!" Marisa says.
-
>Chuckle. "Yeah, at the cost of your hair. Then again, you probably got a way to reverse that too. You always were the unpredictable sort."
>Nod. "Anyhow, those two will be dropping by Gensokyo in a few days. Gengetsu's gonna be looking for strong opponents, while Mugetsu's tagging along to try to rein Gengetsu in when she gets too rowdy. I'll probably be tagging along too, to watch the show, and help with damage control if she gets too rowdy."

> "Nah, I just wear my hat, ~ze." Marisa says, before she waddles around the room then finds it.
> "Uh... OK. Whatever you're saying sounds fun. I need to be able to make larger explosions, but a material needs to make a bigger ka-boom than this stuff. It needs to blow the roof off my house ~Ze!" Marisa says cheerfully.
-
>Sigh. "You never change, do you?"
>Well, boss might know something. Seein' as how she's the creator of the spark.
>How did she react to Marisa 'borrowing' the Spark for her own purposes to begin with?
-
>Sigh. "You never change, do you?"
>Well, boss might know something. Seein' as how she's the creator of the spark.
>How did she react to Marisa 'borrowing' the Spark for her own purposes to begin with?
> "Nope!" Marisa chirps.
> Yuuka doesn't care, she considers Imitation the best form of Flattery, and knows Marisa will never be able to overpower her.
-
>"Hmm...Well, how do you pull off that Spark you use anyhow? Since you use that thing, I'll assume it needs something to catalyze, right?"
-
>"Hmm...Well, how do you pull off that Spark you use anyhow? Since you use that thing, I'll assume it needs something to catalyze, right?"
> "I used the Mini-Hakkero, it's basically a magical reactor and magic particle accelerator! It refines and focuses magic, and turns it into almost pure magical energy! In my case, Love-Fueled Magic!"
-
>"Hmm...In that case, I'd say you need to either upgrade the Hakkero itself, or find a stronger love to use."
-
>"Hmm...In that case, I'd say you need to either upgrade the Hakkero itself, or find a stronger love to use."
> "I'm trying the first option. I already needed to upgrade the Hakkero to use it to fire the Spark in the first place, I'm looking to upgrade it again!" Marisa says.
-
>"So you're needing more efficient parts then? I might be able to talk Gengetsu into making those for you, she'll probably fall for it hook line and sinker if it means having a stronger opponent."
-
>"So you're needing more efficient parts then? I might be able to talk Gengetsu into making those for you, she'll probably fall for it hook line and sinker if it means having a stronger opponent."
> "Half the fun is finding stuff yourself and having stuff blow up in your face!" Marisa declares proudly.
-
>...
>"Right."
-
>...
>"Right."
> "What. Don't you agree? Oh wait scythes don't explode. Nor do Yuukas."
-
>"No, but the latter does produce some pretty damn good ones!"
-
>"No, but the latter does produce some pretty damn good ones!"
> "I can't say no to that, or else I wouldn't have hijacked her magic."
-
>Nod. "Anyhow, Gengetsu's got an interesting power. She can destroy and recreate on a whim. I'm thinkin' we can use her for your advantage. I talk her into making some better parts for your hakkero, and both of you get what you want. You get more bang for your effort, and she gets a stronger opponent. Everyone wins but the surrounding landscape."
>Beat.
>"...And any fairies who get caught in the crossfire."
-
>Nod. "Anyhow, Gengetsu's got an interesting power. She can destroy and recreate on a whim. I'm thinkin' we can use her for your advantage. >"...And any fairies who get caught in the crossfire."
> "The Hakkero needs to be attuned to me, I need to find material that resonates with me better than what the core of the Hakkero is currently made of. Or I need to increase my magical power. The effects are multiplicative anyway." Marisa says. "I don't think destruction and re-creation could help much, unless she knows the perfect material."
-
>Shrug. "Pretty sure you could figure it out between the two of you. She's almost as batty as you are after all."
>Come to think of it, they could easily bond over a mutual love for blowing things up.
-
>Shrug. "Pretty sure you could figure it out between the two of you. She's almost as batty as you are after all."
>Come to think of it, they could easily bond over a mutual love for blowing things up.
> "Batty? Maybe you should introduce her to Remilia's little... oh wait I'm not supposed to talk about her."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "Bats has a kid sister? If she's anything like Gengetsu, Batsy and Mugetsu would get along pretty great."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "Bats has a kid sister? If she's anything like Gengetsu, Batsy and Mugetsu would get along pretty great."
> "Aw I let it slip. Yeah, she has a little sister that she locks in the basement. Even I'm scared of Flandre. She's completely insane, and has the ability to destroy anything, as well as a powerful staff of a god, and fire based magic."
-
>"Yup, sounds like we should keep her from meeting Gengetsu."
>Chuckle grimly. "It'd be a real Meeting of The Minds, and not the good kind."
-
>"Yup, sounds like we should keep her from meeting Gengetsu."
>Chuckle grimly. "It'd be a real Meeting of The Minds, and not the good kind."
> "Yeah. Although it might help give me inspiration for new explosions." Marisa says.
-
>Sigh. "Yeah, I'm just worried about what'll happen as a result. I kinda like having my vacation place intact y'know."
-
>Sigh. "Yeah, I'm just worried about what'll happen as a result. I kinda like having my vacation place intact y'know."
> "... Good point." Marisa says, sounding a little disappointed.
-
>"It's not your explosions I'm worried about, it's the ones those two would make."
-
>"It's not your explosions I'm worried about, it's the ones those two would make."
> "Yeah, I can't make bigger explosions if I'm dead."
-
>Nod. "Exactly. Can't keep up with what you love if you ain't got life to do it with."
>"Well, I've already given you the heads-up, so I'll head for the Shrine to let Reimu know or something. Catch you later."
>Let's say our goodbyes, and head for the shrine!
-
>Nod. "Exactly. Can't keep up with what you love if you ain't got life to do it with."
>"Well, I've already given you the heads-up, so I'll head for the Shrine to let Reimu know or something. Catch you later."
>Let's say our goodbyes, and head for the shrine!
> "Yeah, I need to get back to explodein' stuff. Seeya. Maybe. I won't be stealing anything from Yuuka's mansion. Honest." Marisa says.
-
>Chuckle a bit, because sure she will. She's on the lookout for ways to amp up that spark after all, and Boss's pad would be the best place to look for that sorta stuff.
>"Right, I'll leave you to that."
>Let's make for the shrine already!
-
Seems like that except for rare occasions, i look at this thread, but Hanzo has constantly Ninja'd me.
-
>Chuckle a bit, because sure she will. She's on the lookout for ways to amp up that spark after all, and Boss's pad would be the best place to look for that sorta stuff.
>"Right, I'll leave you to that."
>Let's make for the shrine already!
> You just know Marisa will be putting her sticky fingers to good use.
> You head off for the Hakurei Shrine, and, when you arrive, you can't see Reimu. Instead, you see the drunken Oni you saw when you first came to the shrine again.
-
Oh hey, Hanzo hasn't Ninja'd me yet.
>"Oh, hi, Suika."
>Tell her about Gengetsu and Mugetsu.
-
>Waitwaitwait, do we even know this person?
>Is she conscious?
-
Yeah, she was here when we came through to start our little vacation.
-
Oh hey, Hanzo hasn't Ninja'd me yet.
>"Oh, hi, Suika."
>Tell her about Gengetsu and Mugetsu.
> "Uuuuwh? Oh, hi there red lady." the Oni says.
> The Oni appears to pay attention to your story. At the end, she just comments; "Is that a bedtime story Yuuka tells you?"
>Waitwaitwait, do we even know this person?
>Is she conscious?
Yes, Suika was here when you first came to the Hakurei Shine.
> Depends on your definition. How coherent does one have to be?
-
>"Nah, they're some folks from another Dream Zone who'll be showing up here in a few days. Gengetsu's lookin' for strong people to fight. Come to think of it, Oni are pretty strong ain't they? You might be able to give her a good fight then."
-

> "Dream Zone? Sounds like where I go when I drink too much." Sukia says.
-
>"Well, some folks call 'em Dream Worlds too, it's a pretty interchangeable term when you think about it."
>Nod. "But to sum things up, if you're lucky, you might get an opponent who'll give you a good run for your money."
-
>"Well, some folks call 'em Dream Worlds too, it's a pretty interchangeable term when you think about it."
>Nod. "But to sum things up, if you're lucky, you might get an opponent who'll give you a good run for your money."
> "Eh.... there ain't many foes who can stand up to me. There's... Yuugi... and... Yuugi... and... uh... uh... maybe Shikiiki?"
-
>"Well, she should still be a fun one, eh?"
-
>"Well, she should still be a fun one, eh?"
> "I find partyin' and drinkin' more fun than fightin'. Else I'd probobly still be rulin' over them Tengu."
-
(The funny thing being that Suika won't shy away from a fight if it promises to be a fun one. Like her intro in IaMP shows.)
>"Ah well, whatever happens happens, eh? Tell Reimu about this too would you? One of the Tengu already got the info from me, so it'll probably be all over the news. Which means I can head back home and rest. Seeya again sometime."
>Let's make for home.
-

>Let's make for home.
(Difference between not shying away and perfering something over it. In her perfect world, Sukia would be fighting while drinking at a party. After all, the whole point of her actions in IaMP were not to fight, but to make a massive party!)
> "Reimu's inside. Least she was. Yukari showed up to bug her. She could be anywhere when I think about it... just wait if you wanna talk with her, Yukari usually drops her off back here. Usuuuualllly." Sukia says.
-
>"Huh. Well, guess I'll just sit back here for a bit then."
>Let's find a nice place to sit back and chill. Today's been a pretty rough one after all.
-
>"Huh. Well, guess I'll just sit back here for a bit then."
>Let's find a nice place to sit back and chill. Today's been a pretty rough one after all.
> "Want a drink?" Sukia asks as you sit on the shrine's steps.
-
>"How strong is it?"
-
>"How strong is it?"
> Sukia sticks her goard under your nose.
> "Best way ta tell. I'm not sure what's classed as strong for you." Sukia says.
> The smell of alcohol is really, really strong. Also, it's clearly sake. You're more of a cider person on the rare occasions you drink at all [Which is a very uncommon taste for Gensokyo].
-
>Scrunch up our nose a bit, then blink a few times in quick succession with an expression that implies we just got our sinuses forcibly cleaned out. "Yup, bit much for me. I'm more of a cider person myself, comes with liking apples."
-
>Scrunch up our nose a bit, then blink a few times in quick succession with an expression that implies we just got our sinuses forcibly cleaned out. "Yup, bit much for me. I'm more of a cider person myself, comes with liking apples."
> "Cider?! I ain't heard of that stuff in years! I guess the last time I heard of someone who likes that stuff was... Lord Tenma I guess. Although Tenma drank anything and could give even us Oni a challenge, Tenma did like Cider more than anything else but... Wine I think." Sukia says, with a look on her face that screams 'Good ol' days'.
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "I figured Cider ware a rare taste, but man, the way you're actin' is like I just went and shoved the biggest keg of booze that ever existed right in your lap."
-
>Raise an eyebrow. "I figured Cider ware a rare taste, but man, the way you're actin' is like I just went and shoved the biggest keg of booze that ever existed right in your lap."
> "I already have that, the Ibuki Gourd never runs out." Sukia says, before she sighs. "Just thinkin' of Tenma made me miss the old days of the Big Four."
-
>Sigh a bit, in a somewhat content way. "Yeah, nostalgia's a great thing innit?"
>Man, all this talk of nostalgia really gets us to thinkin' about some of the rare good times we had with Teach, eh?
-
>Sigh a bit, in a somewhat content way. "Yeah, nostalgia's a great thing innit?"
>Man, all this talk of nostalgia really gets us to thinkin' about some of the rare good times we had with Teach, eh?
> "Yes, but looking at the past is a waste if you got something better to do, or something to look foward to. So I'll stop. You gotta look at the future. Most of the time." Sukia says.
> You recall the good times with Yuuka.
> ...
> ...
> This is harder than you anticipated. Most of her interactions with you are her showing off her power to convince you she keeps you safe, you being a plaything, or her bossing you about. Although sometimes she does get bored and you play cards of all things. Even more surprisingly is Yuuka doesn't cheat, and has a REALLY bad poker face, meaning you usually win.
-
>No, no, Teach as in Komachi. Seeing as how she was the one who used to mentor us back before we quit the gig.
-
>No, no, Teach as in Komachi. Seeing as how she was the one who used to mentor us back before we quit the gig.
> You think back even further. To the *other* one you can consider a teacher. Not the one who taught you how to do the gate keeping shtick, gave you self-confidence [You don't get how, in the past you were rather shy, you guess being her plaything was character building], and taught you several other minor things that help you along.
> Komachi back then wasn't *as* lazy. Not to say she wasn't lazy, but back then, she was a reaper Shinigami in charge of teaching you, not a Ferrywoman. Komachi was always laid back, and not a hard taskmaster at all, and frequently made jokes to try and lighten the subject of... well... reaping people's souls and death. Komachi was the only good thing about those days. Not enough to make you stay.
> You think Komachi became a Ferrywoman shortly after you left, and you think it was her choice to retire from Reaping, so she could slack off more in a boat. However, as she stated when you met her recently, the financial issues of Hell meant she had to go back to being a part-time Reaper, on top of her ferry work.
-
>Chuckle a bit. She always was like that, she enjoyed taking things slowly.
>"Man, I can agree with you on that. Shame the stuff you've got is a bit too strong for me though, otherwise I'd be drinkin' too."
-
>Chuckle a bit. She always was like that, she enjoyed taking things slowly.
>"Man, I can agree with you on that. Shame the stuff you've got is a bit too strong for me though, otherwise I'd be drinkin' too."
> "Eh. I guess Shinigami and Gatekeepers are lightweights. I have to see about China someday..." Sukia says.
> There is a loud crash from within the Shrine, and you hear a groan, before "Damnit Yukari did you have to drop me on my head!"
-
>Raise an eyebrow, and shrug. "Nah, it's just stronger than I'm used to. Better to build up a tolerance slowly, y'know? Not everyone's as resilient as an Oni after all."
>Then chuckle a bit. "Hear that? Sounds like something amusing."
>Let's wait a bit for Reimu to set herself straight, and step out where we are.
-

>Let's wait a bit for Reimu to set herself straight, and step out where we are.
> "Ain't no-one as resilient as an Oni!" Sukia says. "What it would take to get me tipsy would kill you five times over!"
> "You get used to it." Sukia says.
> You wait a few moments, before you poke your head into the shrine, and see Reimu rubbing the back of her head, grumbleing about 'Gap Hags' and 'Lazy Youkai' and 'Chen Obsession'.
-
>"Yo, heard you got dropped on your noggin. I decided to pop by, but you weren't around, so I decided to just wait until you showed up."
>Sigh. "I gotta admit, that was quite an entrance."
-
>"Yo, heard you got dropped on your noggin. I decided to pop by, but you weren't around, so I decided to just wait until you showed up."
>Sigh. "I gotta admit, that was quite an entrance."
> "You can thank a certain border-manipulating youkai for that. And half the crazy stuff that happens in Gensokyo." Reimu says.
-
>Chuckle a bit. "Well, there's gonna be a bit more crazy stuff goin' on here in a few days. Remember Mugetsu and Gengetsu? Yeah, Gengetsu's comin' to Gensokyo in a few days to find some worthy opponents. Me and Mugetsu are gonna tag along too to make sure things don't get too out of hand."
-
>Chuckle a bit.
> "... What's with everyone from that day coming to Gensokyo to cause trouble recently? What next, Yuuka's gonna stir up trouble herself?" Reimu says, after a few seconds of thinking.
-
>Shrug. "Who knows. She definitely got her jollies in over the last two days."
-
>Shrug. "Who knows. She definitely got her jollies in over the last two days."
> "Dosen't mean she'll not get bored and try something like covering every inch of Gensokyo in sunflowers."
-
>Shrug again. "At least it's better than her blowing things up, eh? 'sides, you folks got Marisa for that."
>Fistpalm. "Oh yeah, you probably already know this, but she's lookin' for a way to make even bigger explosions."
>Sigh. "Kid like that really takes after boss, doesn't she?"
-
>Shrug again.
> "Don't remind me of Marisa blowing stuff up. Please." Reimu says.
> "Marisa is ALWAYS doing that. When she's not stealing. And usually she's stealing for that reason too."
> "You've not seen Mima, her teacher. Marisa doesn't take after her at all except she likes to use stars and is somewhat morally questionable."
-
>Shrug. "Ah well, everyone feels like blowing something up at some point in their lives, eh? Marisa just happens to always be in that state."
-
>Shrug. "Ah well, everyone feels like blowing something up at some point in their lives, eh? Marisa just happens to always be in that state."
> "I kinda feel like blowing something up myself, seeing as I'm in a bad mood from Yukari fooling around, and now you bugging me..."
-
>Sigh. "Hey now, I'm just passing along what I've found out, And I was gonna be headin' back home pretty soon anyhow. Right now in fact."
>"Well, seeya!"
>Let's get the hell outta dodge, and get back home!
-
>Sigh. "Hey now, I'm just passing along what I've found out, And I was gonna be headin' back home pretty soon anyhow. Right now in fact."
>"Well, seeya!"
>Let's get the hell outta dodge, and get back home!
> "Good choice." Reimu says. It seems she's in grouchy Reimu mode. You're not sure what happened to change her into such a grouch over the years.
> You skedaddle, and head back to the Dream Gate.
> A few days later, Mugetsu and Gengetsu appear from it, with the aim of heading to Gensokyo.
[Note: There's not really anything else plot-wise now. This can end whenever wanted by the players]
-
I say let's end it here.
-
Sure, just make sure that we tagged along in the epilogue. It's gonna take more than just Mugetsu to run damage control with Gengetsu gets fired up enough.
-
You trail Mugetsu and Gengetsu as they go through Gensokyo. Gengetsu ends up getting in a couple of fights, one with Marisa, which she seems to lose, and one with Sanae, which ends in a tie. Gengetsu doesn't ruin anything like you were worried, and the pair go back to their realm.
This repeats every so often, until you don't need to make sure Gengetsu isn't going to go crazy and try and destroy Gensokyo. With that, your job goes back to normality, if a little less peaceful than before, guarding the gate alongside Malus...
-END-

Nice little ride this. Looking forward to more stuff like this.
Maybe a little Prequel Story as an early Yuuka? (Before she got so horrifically powerful.)

Nice little ride this. Looking forward to more stuff like this.
Maybe a little Prequel Story as an early Yuuka? (Before she got so horrifically powerful.)
Maybe, I need to plan out what side story I'm doing next.
Problem with a 'Young Yuuka' is that I'd need to create a supporting cast, especially since Yuuka pre-dates Gensokyo, as she is an ancient Youkai.
-
Well, we know Yukari would have likely been around, possibly as a young little scamp herself.
And for all we know, Mima could have been around as a non-spirit. And we know Shinki was probably doing stuff back then too.
-

And for all we know, Mima could have been around as a non-spirit. And we know Shinki was probably doing stuff back then too.
Except because we're not limited to Gensokyo... they could be anywhere in the world. Cooking up something like 'Adventures of Young Yuuka' would take a while, and frankly with my University Workload it would slow things down even more.
That said there's a few other characters that might be useable. Like Human Byakuren, and of course the Deva, and the underground races, like Satori [Species, not character]
Which is the main reason why I said the next quest will be slower-paced. Come Mid-November I simply won't be able to manage two fast-paced quests like I have been doing. One faster paced quest and another slower one is probably fine.
I'll think about it.
-
There's also something like using Yuyuko, or Satori herself.
For example, Yuyuko gets bored, and decides to leave Hakugyoukurou to mess with more people than just Youmu in order to alleviate that boredom.
-

I wouldn't imagine Satori around when Yuuka was young.
As for Yuyuko? She's be more sane than she is now back then, because her mental state is because she's been forgetting things over her 1,000+ years of being dead. Although newly-deceased Yuyuko could be interesting to use, I would see her as pretty much a totally different character, far less eccentric.
Just to put into context, if we're looking at 'Young' Yuuka, I'm thinking 1,000+ years ago. There's enough characters known to be 1,000+, like Byakuren and Yuyuko [Kinda]. The Taoist crew I think were around back then too.
-
Well, I was more talking about her as an alternative to a 'Young Yuuka' idea.
-
Well, I was more talking about her as an alternative to a 'Young Yuuka' idea.
Oh yes, there's always the option of other characters. However personally I don't think Satori is that interesting to GM [Plus Stuffman will be doing it *soon* in Purplequest anyway and why should we have 2 Satori Quests?]. Yuyuko is always a viable choice, as are most characters.
It kinda depends on the tone of the quest you guys want. If you want something more serious [Say, Young Yuuka], or some light-hearted fun [Which a Yuyuko Quest would more likely fall under]
And then there's things that could fall either way. I could see, say, a Nue Quest falling into either Silly/Fun or Serious.
-
Well, I kinda saw a younger Yuuka like how Youka was in that one fanmanga that revolved around her.
Uhh...I forget what it was called, but you can find it on danbooru.

Basically, a mini-Yuuka, but childish, inquisitive, kinda like early Rumia Quest's Rumia. I'll have to see if I can dig up the pool again sometime and PM it to ya.

When I thought 'Young Yuuka' I was still thinking Adult, just... young, not even 100 yet. She'd be less evil than present Yuuka, but still not 'good'.

Well, could do a young adult version. Kinda like she's just getting into things, but is more brash and impulsive than she's shown to be, somewhat like Marisa.
(Which would raise amusing implications for Spark-users like her.)

I'd love a Satori Quest, personally (the one there was wasn't very interesting, IMO), or a Nue Quest (Purvis' was far too serious for me).
