>Looking around, you can see a few that are larger. The largest, you think, has a pond, but you can't quite tell for sure at this angle.

>You fly toward it, and find that it is certainly a pond, its surface covered in algae and lily pads. You can barely see the water. It fills most of the clearing, with only a thin strip of shore visible from the air.

>You land by the lake shore, Mystia following your example. The forest here is dark and fairly tangled in places. You can hear the sounds of the night insects clearly, while shadows are everywhere. There are a two trails going south that you can see, a larger one and a smaller one, and a larger one going southwest. There is also a smaller one you missed going westward, and another large one leading north, on the other side of the pond.
>You can't tell if one is more traveled than the other, but you see no apparent signs of people.

Fightest: I'll give that a shot at our next available concentrated light source.

It's called the sun :V
We have a convex lens, we're entirely capable of getting a small, focused beam.

>How capable are we of enhancing our sense of smell?

Unlike just messing about with the shape of our eyes, we'd have to grow a whole new batch of chemical receptors. I imagine it'd be far, far more difficult.

>Mystia looks around before saying, "No, I'm not seeing anything that stands out. But the dirt's all hard here, so I don't think obvious things like tracks are going to be common."
>You start southwesterly.

>How capable are we of enhancing our sense of smell?

>You have never been able to get the knack for it. You think there's probably organs and stuff involved you don't really understand and have no idea how to create.
>You follow along the southwestern path. It winds and wends its way through the forest, turning this way and that, but never looping back or making too complex of a tangle. It is peaceful and quiet in the forest, save for the time with you disturb a snake resting close to the path and it slithers into the underbrush, provoking a surprised cry from Mystia.
>After some minutes of walking, Mystia says, "There's a faerie house," pointing to a log.

>You kneel down, reach into the log, and knock on the round wooden door. "We are donated!" comes a voice from inside.
