Am I correct in my guesstimation that incubators are the best use for coins?  With them you can at least choose the tier of bonus you get, to avoid wasting your efforts on the vermin pokemon.

I want to play this so bad, but everyone in my family has a Windows Phone, and only my parents have unlimited data.

If I'm getting a new phone, I'm getting an Android with an external battery pack.

Yeah, what my friend is doing is he's mooching power off me, because I have three external batteries in my bag, and he's getting a BLU R1 HD off Amazon. Apparently it's really cheap for a good phone. Interestingly enough, Amazon installs ads on the lockscreen, and an ad widget on the Home Screen, but both can be removed.

The lockscreen can be replaced with one off of the Play Store, and the widget...
Can be deleted.

That's been my operating assumption, yeah. My one significant experience with mooching off an Attract Module from a whale was actually pretty profitable though, so maaaybe those are worth it too?

Honestly even the trash pulls from eggs aren't that bad since they translate into a bunch more experience from evolving more Pidgeys with a Lucky Egg on.

Hmm. Yeah, I guess that means occasionally Lucky Eggs might not be bad buys either.

I notice the game gives out some free copies of all of the IAP items upon level up, but I don't seem to have gotten any in a while. Are those freebies all concentrated at low levels to try to hook players on whaling or are there more free incubators and things available at higher levels too?
I made a PADHerder. It's probably out of date though.

Today's Adventure:
- Chased a Jynx for about 30 mins before it disappeared. I can only figure the Red Team fuckers camping the Gym near my apartment took her, because suddenly they had a Jynx on their roster.
- Went and stole their gym multiple times, because they kept taking it back. Man, sitting there in a car is fucking cheap. :(
- Walked the rest of my 10km to hatch... a fucking Magmar. Lame.
- You know you're havin' a real fuckin' neato night when Weedles, Spearows, and Pidgeys will pop out of their balls on GREEN, and run away.

I went out on a Lucky Egg run and got from Lv. 13 to allllmost 15. The server fared a LOT better now, since there's a lot less traffic around 3:00 AM EST; too late for the states, too early for Europe.

I thought Lucky Eggs were the best buy? Being Instinct means you get almost no gym profit tho, so it barely matters to me.

I've noticed that turning AR off makes for a much smoother, less buggy experience, but it is quite a bit less exciting to play. But when you play almost exclusively at night anyway, it's not a very big deal since you'll only see Pokemon floating in darkness anyway.

Hatched a ~300 Bulbasaur today. Almost caught another one that randomly showed up at the end of my grind; it ate like 10 well-timed and razzed balls and then fled, then my game froze. Ok.

Trained up a gym like 20 times, enough that I could get a ~300 Raticate in there. Plopped the Bulbasaur in a different open gym. Just realized I could cash Defender bonus right away, derp.

Lv11 now, but the Evolvening is happening soon. 170 Pidgey Candy, 130 Weedle Candy, 150 Rattata Candy. With just a bit more I'll probably get to 15.

By the way I really hate how unresponsive, clunky, and buggy the battle system is. It took me forever to not get wrecked at that gym from stupid animations and timings.

Was getting pretty bored of all the Weedles, Pidgeys, and Ratatas everywhere, even though I keep catching and transferring them. But on the bus ride to work today I caught a Fearow, and then caught a Gastly at my desk at work. I take this as a good omen for the rest of the day.

Thinking of taking the city bus to the edge of the suburbs and back to finish hatching this 10km egg I picked up, too.

Also, the gym at Harpa Concert Hall takes an interesting turn:

One thing to point out, when a pokemon shows up for one person, it'll show up for everyone. Noticed that with the Dragonite encounter that a person with multiple accounts was able to see the same dragonite, maybe with different stats.

Also feels like pokemon tend to spawn and move around rather than stay in one spot sometimes before you make them appear

I thought that was known. Instance of pokemon is per user, but appearance or tracking goes for everyone. This is why everybody rushes.

So learn your spots for rare pokeymanz and track them frequently.

Oh and pray for no-freezes

I feel like it's incubators, with the occasional lucky egg to keep leveling and poooossibly a little item space. If you live by enough stops then it wouldn't be good to buy incense or lure modules because people just do it for you, and while I realize you can stack the incense and lure module, my experience is that you will probably freeze up long before you catch every pokemon that appears unless you're lucky, and maybe even forget to spin the stops in the process.

Nevah
Probably in a couple of days. They release the game to a country or two or three every day. Today is Central Europe, yesterday was the UK, day before was Germany.

What does it actually take for them to release it in a region? Translating to a different language, or is it a legal thing?

Pokemon Go is getting frustrating because everytime I try to catch a pokemon it keeps freezing. It did it five times in under twenty minutes. Missed out on a Squirtle and Horsea because of it.
Most of the time it freezes on catch, so wait for it to do the pokeball spin twice before restarting.  Then check your box.  It's not 100%, but it's better then losing a pokemon.

Still pretty annoying though.

Probably mostly legal and infrastructure; distance to server farms would be a concern but it may be a simple matter of allocation.

Oh and all the bank transfers from the previous roll outs and sales have to clear or loans have to go through.  I suspect IAP is going directly to new servers still.

I transferred it already, but I'm pretty sure I had a 23 CP Fearow show up just yesterday. Took it a while to cross the Atlantic!

I just had my first actual awful experience with pogo.

Went to the gym the other direction I normally walk on my main street, found that the first pokemon was something I could reasonably take on over and over again, and just as i'm about to get the last battle that would level the gym up and let me put a pokemon inside after an hour, some lv18 jackass in a white car pulls up, assumedly beats everyone in there, and stuffs his shitty Lapras in, leaving it about 2000 from the next level up and I was out of potions. Didn't even bother to run the gym again so that I could put my stuff in there.

It seems like a constant that other people always almost all the time usually only exist to be obstacles and bring me down in real life video games.

He didn't even camp. He was there for all of three minutes because I assume he used some 2000CP pokemon or something I couldn't see and just wiped everybody, dumped some shit reserve pokemon, and left.

If I ever have to use my car to do this shit, I will make sure there's extra room for at least one more person before I leave. It's not called Team Valor for nothing.

So I've been sitting here with my phone on and plugged in, and I've come to believe the game spawns Pidgeys and Rattatas as a kind of incentive to pay attention to it.  None of these appear on the radar but they just keep popping up.  Then again my workplace has 2 grass patches on the map so it may just be the effect of those.

I was at the mall, trying to capture a gym. I managed to wipe it out (fuckin' Team Red is such an epidemic here), but before I could get my buff as fuck Vaporeon in there, they took it over again, and whenever I tried to take it back, as soon as the battle would start, it'd take me back to the gym menu.

I call cheating shenanigans. :matsuriscowl:

Same. Really don't know why that is.

Although I admit I find some of the cross-team trash talking on social media hilarious. #mystic4lyfe

I had this also happen after the jerk put his Lapras in the gym, so I couldn't even try to boost the prestige up any more even if I wanted. Never heard about this glitch until today.

i really need to scope out the town more seriously to see what team to choose.

(okay the actual answer is 'none, because fuck you there are no accessible gyms near you' or 'red because boobs')
