I will say this: the match wasn't half as exciting as Germany vs Uruguay. 0-0 for the most part, and Spain won with just the one goal, as opposed to a 3-2 score? Man.

But the ending scenes were passionate enough that I'm willing to let that slide a bit. And even the waka waka song has grown on me a bit, I'll confess-- it's quite the earworm. Hooray Spain \o\

On the down side, this will likely be among the most-watched soccer/ futbol games in the US history, and what a disappointing show it was. FIFA really needs to grow a pair and clean up the game.

During the entire World Cup, I watched ~3 minutes of play time total. These ~3 minutes included the goal that decided the final.  :]

Although from what I can tell from the loud noises coming from the living room, this match once again showed why I don't like competitive football even when I ignore the media hype and the economic and political aspects.

Also: Nederlands should have won for several raisins.

And for Paul the Octopus, I still stand by my statement that his decisions were based on the high percentage of red and yellow in the flags, making him choose Germany over everything but Spain and then Spain over Nederlands.
