One the things that I thought needed to be in Touhouvania 1 was Komachi. After all the grim reaper is one of the mainstays in Castlevania so It is good that the touhou grim reaper is in this game.

Chen means Orange. When put through a translator, that's usually what will come up instead of Chen.

Yukari occasionally has the same problem with purple/violet.

2. I have to say, Yukari is somewhat surprising. Her design just looks...off, though. Maybe it'll improve by the time the final game rolls around.

I see what you mean, Yukari doesn't seem dark/evil enough. Still we don't know what the bottom half of the outfit looks like and especially how it's colored so there is hope.

Alright, I checked out the voice actors, and here are my opinions so far.

Sakuya's fits, I guess. I've always thought she should have a somewhat more mature voice, though; this one sounds more fitting for Reimu.
Remilia's fits perfectly.
Couldn't find a sample for Patchouli.
Oh shit Flandre is perfect.
Couldn't find a sample for Meiling.
Reimu's good, but I feel like she and Sakuya should switch.
No sample for Marisa.
Same with Alice.
Yukari could grow on me. I think she had a good choice.
Yuyuko fits too. I was surprised, honestly.
No Youmu sample.
Same with Ran.
....Chen and Marisa are the same person. I'm kind of worried about this.
...and Komachi and Alice are the same person. See above.

I'll save my reservations until the game actually comes out, but it looks sufficiently promising so far on the VA front.

That new art is AWESOME. And Yukari looks much better than expected.

I hope they release the full portraits like they did with Sakuya. That art is too good to just have a chest-up picture.

Beat me to it. Got a kick out of Komachi's admittedly predictable role, but I remember the boatman from SotN being a whackjob with a nervous, heavily overacted voiced, just like everything was in SotN.

Also liked getting a brief, tiny glimpse at Youmu, Ran, and Yuyuko in-game. I'll be readily anticipating the portraits.

Squid, Miyuki Sawashiro has a huuuuuge range. I have no doubt she'll be able to play Sakuya very well.

I'll be honest, I've never found a Sakuya voice that I felt fit perfectly. The closest to a perfect Sakuya would be whoever sings as her on Innocent Key's songs.

The rest of the cast, at least that I've heard, sounds great. But Sakuya's voice is something I'm very finicky about.

Wow, I'm really impressed with what i've seen of this game! I loved the first one and I really thought the Poe-esque art was awesome so I'm glad they kept it the same for this one. Also, Sakuya and Meiling being playable is just fantastic. Fantastic.
