You know the Windows Touhou Title Screen themes all have a certain melody that goes into all of them right? The one that goes (in a natural minor key) 1 4 5 7 5 4 (in A Natural Minor it'd be A D E G E D), with EoSD, IN and 10D having slight variations in that theme.

My question now is this. Has this melody ever appeared anywhere in the PC-98 games? I'm quite sure it's non-existant in any PC-98 title themes.

Speaking of which, anyone found a part of SoEW's title theme to sound like Oriental Dark Flight?

The melody never appeared in the PC-98 games as far as I can tell, but there is a FM version of the song included as a bonus on Akyu's Untouched Score vol. 5

Uh, one more thing. Is It worth downloading an English patch for EoSD? I have a disc, so can you even download it?
Im worried that if i do download it it will mess something up or give my computer a virus. Or maybe throw of the graphics or somthing... :wat:
And can anyone give me some tips on fighting Patchouli with Reimu A on normal....pweeze? :3

The English patch won't mess up anything and most certainly won't give your computer a virus. Get it if you want it,

Oh yeah, Silk Road Alice. It still predates EoSD so i guess that's most likely where ZUN came up with the melody.

So I found another mystery. touhou wiki states that Rikako has the longest boss theme in the series, with the music not looping until 4:57.

Is this really true? I'm listening for example to Fate of Sixty Years and it goes on for 8 and a half minutes, I think. Someone checked which original track is the longest?

Fate of Sixty Years is only 8 minutes long when looped twice. Without looping it's only 4 minutes and 15 seconds long.

I'm sure you've all heard the email ZUN said about the Touhou characters being about as tall as teenage schoolgirls (Link for those who haven't). I've been trying to combine this, a Japanese height/weight survey from 2007 that I found (I'll cite that when I actually do this), and the character sprites from the Touhou fighting games to see if I could get a rough estimate as to how tall some of them are. I'm pretty sure somebody's done this before, but I figured I'd put some math into it.

But since I can't view giant spritesheets or unzip files on a Wii (I'm using a library computer ATM), I can't get much of an idea on the last piece of data I mentioned. As such, I'd like to ask you guys something that's probably gonna take a while to get:

How tall, in pixels, are the girls in the Touhou fighting games when standing their tallest (MP Suika notwithstanding)?

I say it's gonna take a while because finding the sprite that best does it for each character and not counting things like geta or Reisen's ears. I know this is quite a mouthful for the Misc. Questions thread, but I'd rather not make a whole thread on it until I'm done with all this stuff.

I always wonder, when we faced against the boss they of course using danmaku to kill you, right? Then why not a playable character also use danmaku to kill them?

You are using danmaku to hit them. Just that in the perspective of the games, it's visualized differently.

Also, no one is trying to kill each other in the Touhou Project games. Danmaku is non-lethal magic. The enemy and the player are basically trying to win a contest.

I don't think it exists. IIRC it was shown at a live event and never released.
