so apparently a trojan or virus has messed up the windows side on my macbook (can't even boot in safe mode anymore) so I won't be around til later this week.

on the bright side, it's a good excuse to make our hamachi network the same as the channel's name.

I noticed your name on the DS forums as well. Welcome.  Yes, our Hamachi channel is a bit full, but we got several solutions for that (like multiple channels :V)

We mostly hang around on ppIRC and time zones differ between GMT minus to GMT plus. Mostly around 15:00 or 19:00 GMT ( I think ) we got games going on.

this is for .949 weather. the values were changed a bit for some of them I think, but you can figure out the values just by looking at the numbers on the tooltip in game.

From left to right, top to bottom
Drizzle - 8 mp regen/sec for 80 secs
Scarlet Mist - 15% lifesteal for 80 secs
River Mist - 25 sec invis (not sure what the fade time is)
East Rain - -8hp/sec, 60 secs
Spring Haze - +5000 armor, 25 secs
Typhoon - 35% increased attack power, 60 secs
Snow - 15% slow, 60 secs

Also, I think it's reasonable if we ban certain effects (River Mist and Spring Haze for instance) at the request of players in our casual games.

I don't really think banning weather effects is necessary. You can counterspam them so that they go into cooldown and the other team can't get off the one they want. Or just regard them as map features like juke points, use them if you have the skill to.

I agree with you Pesco, and I'd like for us to incorporate weather as much as possible into our games, but some people just don't seem to like it in casual games. The skill required to deal with it is a bit higher than the skill required to use them sensibly, and our casual games aren't srsbsns, so I think it's reasonable if someone requests no weather.

I think it mostly stems from how difficult it is to avoid losing rax/towers against a good pushing team in spring haze if your team didn't want to play any magic users. While in a real game, it's your team's fault for taking a combination of heroes without considering the consequences, in our casual games I think it's not fun for people to be punished for playing what heroes they wanted to play (or randomed).

Of course it also has to do with how we never used weather effects (except for headcrabs) until very recently. Personally I find them extremely fair, but I think everyone enjoying themselves is more important. The same goes with stun bombing. We should discuss beforehand if we'll play with them or not.

anyway sorry for abusing spring haze last night, as well as bding the shrine whoever was in that game last night. I was indeed Patchouli.

The problem with Weather is that it can be an instant game-changer under the right circumstances.

In games where people are playing casually, this is a very huge deal because it completely ruins the fun for them.

I added all weathers and icons and tested out the effect in game. Think I got the effects right, except for the names. Feel free to modify though Trancehime. Because you are the only one who can :V

I suggest lumping weather effects and the various faith effects into one page (there actually is one in the misc section atm, but it has quite a few errors in it, and I think a Faith effects section would make more sense anyway)
or maybe just putting it under gameplay?

and also i fixed up the names for you. i like the names you put for some of the icons :D

This weekend - Saturday and Sunday we need some classic DOTS with Hime. Because we can barely play with him.

Aprox 13:00 GMT+1 is for Hime prime time to be online :V So be there for 4vs4 else get gungnired.
