I would imagine it's a contributing reason. The volume of Touhou content has been high in the Comikets over the last several years, from what I can tell. I don't remember when or where it was, but I also remember ZUN saying that he was worried that the amount of Touhou material was inconveniencing patrons who weren't interested in it.

but yeah, he must be disgusted when he sees the hentai comics, people making those stupid pairings that don't even try to make sense; though he shouldn't really be disgusted of the fan games and other harmless media (if that was the tone of it).

Now, some people think there's going to be some drama over him stating that he doesn't accept ideas from outside of Japan. Well, I think there will be too, but nobody should despair over that. Has anyone here ever sent him an idea? Guess not.

I've never heard of a game developer that quit a successful series just because they got fed up with the fanbase before, and I doubt I ever will.

As for ZUN hating the doujin scene, it's possible, but it seemed less hate but more "people are going to think there's touhou canon doujin and stuff" like the anime.

But seriously, I love this thing I see in the western community a lot where people seem to want ZUN to hate them.  I swear, it's real, like we all want ZUN to hate us or something.
