Let's finish them up and season to taste.

> "It seems to be a running trend with birds. I wonder, if that crow in Akyu's most recent book ever comes to the surface if we could distract her with shiny." Keine jokes.

> You finish up the lampreys and give them to the customers, who eat quietly. Keine finishes first, but waits for the elder to finish.

>Chuckle. "If you ask me, Keine'd probably do a better job of it. I just want to sell my cooking to people who'll buy it and enjoy the meal y'know."

> "Every five years, little night sparrow, the people of the village vote about who they want to lead them. The time for that vote is in a month today. For the last twenty-five years, due to fear from youkai and nothing changeing the opinion of the people, the current Mayor has been elected every year, for his zero-tolerance stance. Humans even rarely left the village except for essencials." the old lady explained.

> She took a moment. "However, during these last five years, things have changed in Gensokyo. Very shortly after the last vote, the Hakurei Shrine Maiden introduced those spellcard rules, and forbade youkai from eating humans. Of course, it took a while for youkai to stop, and apparently the owner of the Scarlet Mansion has to perform non-fatal attacks on occasion to simply survive, unlike most youkai, but nowadays, it's just her, who does it out of requirement."

> Another pause. "Other things have changed as well. While technically not a youkai, that medic, Eirin, is not of this world. Yet she has earned peoples trust many times. The Mayor states she can come to the village, because she is technically not a youkai, but even then, I don't think the people care about her nature anymore, the childeren even ask about it."

> "There is also more reason for people to leave the village. There is that new Moyria Shrine, and the gods to be worshipped. However, they are on youkai Mountain, a mountain that before, everyone was deathly afraid of. One day, someone from the village decided to brave the trip up to the shrine to see it for themselves, and was aided long the way by the Kappa and Tengu. The latter we already knew a little about through Aya."

> "Be fair, no-one can stop Aya from getting in. She's too fast." Keine says.

> "Finally, there is that Myouren Temple, where humans and youkai have actually been interacting. Miss Hijiri comes and asks to discuss matters with the Mayor, but he refuses her time and again. Yet still, people go to the temple. They see for their own eyes youkai are not savage beasts. I myself was terrified when a karakasa popped up in the graveyard, but she seemed to have made it her home, and tries to surprise me every time. Nothing more, nothing less. She's no danger, she's just playful."

> "I do feel sorry for her. Even I know she's harmless, but she keeps coming to the village to surprise people, so I keep having to kick her out, often hurting her a bit." Keine says.

> "It's not your fault, many of the villagers are scared of her still." the olf woman says.

Keine decides to screw the rules and do so anyway

>"And plus, that also means more people are going to see how much of a stick-in-the-mud that old fogey of a mayor is."

> "They'll see for themselves when they leave the village for whatever need be." Keine says.

> The two go back into the village.

----

> Two Weeks Later, and business has been going smoothly. There have been curious humans, and Keine hasn't shown up to headbutt you, so you guess everything has been OK. You've also had some youkai come by, includeing Byakuren Hijiri after she was turned away from the village... again. She hurried back to the temple and didn't say much though, except how fish is OK on a Vegetarian diet, and she's not a vegan under her breath.

> However, today, a strange letter has appeared on your stand. It's decorated with art of cherry blossoms, and a tengu delivered it, calling it a reservation. Indeed, inside was a message:

"I will be here to sample this food at midday. Be sure to serve up your best~"

> It was left anonymous.

> You don't know about any link between your worst nightmare and cherry blossoms. You think Yuuka is more likly to use them, in all honesty. Still, you're cautious. It's not like Yuuka is any better.

> Your seasonings and lamprey stocks are fine.

> You see someone you know faintly in the distance, or, more specifically, three someones. You know them slightly, because you ran into one of them during the flower veiwing incident, and you also know them by their music. They are the Primsrivers.
