After my two failed UFO Hard 1cc's (those things only come once in a bluemoon) where Hijiri kicked my ass twice, I decided to let out all my rage at poor SA and did that. Up to Orin zero lives lost; her stupid ghost wheels spell caught me off-guard with bullets that didn't dissolve through bombing entirely. At Utsuho I lost two more lives but eeeehhh, best result so far!

By the second you mean the post-momiji barrage right? That's pretty damn difficult yeah so expect some serious trouble there. If you want to make it easier on yourself you should stall Momiji until she's got 12 seconds left and then finish her off. That means there won't be much waterfall left.

That's not that bad. Your progress with UFO is close to that of Chirpy's. You can beat him to it eh? I'm sure the game must be hard on you but that is also likely the only way you are going to see some serious improvement. So go for that Hard clear eh?

As for SA, I'm surprised you haven't beaten that one already. If you can get to Byakuren then it should be a non-issue for you to clear SA Hard, especially with that ridiculous bomb-stock you get. Unless you are actually trying to clear the game without spamming bombs which I would highly approve of.

TD. Extra? Ask yourself: Do you think this game is fun? If the answer is no then it doesn't matter if you have cleared it or not. No reason to play it. It's not like there is some rule that says that you need to clear everything. Just look at me and MS lunatic, anything before LLS and PoFV Extra.

I don't know who told you to "spam" bombs, since it's harder to immediately regain Power in SA (outside of select spots) compared to MoF. But the basic concept is still there - bombing is better than dying. For a game like SA, you want to use bombs wisely, not excessively.

Yeah, you pretty much HAVE to use bombs in SA for stuff like post-midOrin Stage 5 Lunatic and midOrin Stage 4. These are stuff you're not going to accomplish without bombing, and if you do, it'll be a miracle, and miracles don't work towards showing off, which is what I am assuming your aim is. :V

No, but displaying sufficient skill to beat those parts without having to rely on miracles certainly do.  I generally advice against auto-bombing since it looks neither impressive nor will help you grow as a player.

Oh and that Stage 4 Midboss you are talking about is actually pretty damn easy to handle if you get there with max power. (At least with ReimuA)

Then 1cc Dai Ou Jou Black Label. It's first loop is quite merciful even if they only give you 1 bomb per ship. (You get hypers to compensate)  :V

I was naming the 'impossible' parts, you know, those you are very likely to die on even if you're good.

The midboss is easy with ReimuA and... a bomb. Even with the redirection+teleport tactic, you still have to go through a wall of bullets so you're still far from safe.

When the amulet guys come in, position yourself in between them and stream down slowly as they start firing. You'll be shooting at the midboss non-stop as she enters. Keep firing at her and you'll kill her before the bullets get's to hit you. It works consistently for me. (Though only if you have 4 power- if you don't, bomb it for score :V)

In other news, I decided to try Lunatic EoSD and made it to the fairies right before boss Sakuya. Died with bombs in stock in some places where I wasn't in the right place to do the right thing and such, so I can definitely go beyond that. ReimuA seems to work well except in those few spots in Stage 4. This might be possible...

omg. Did I just do that? Yes I did. After maybe a month or so of not playing Touhou (*sobsob*), I come back and manage to 1cc SA Normal on my first run! And not only that, I captured a few cards that I never have before o: Namely  Hell and Heaven Meltdown, and whatever Okuu's last spellcard was~ I had a few really stupid deaths (like one was in stage 6 where the crows shoot the blue kunai. I run upwards into a stream that I saw a long time ago), but yay fun times~

Huge, huge thanks to Zil for that replay. Even though it was blatantly obvious in retrospect.  :V

Once I knew how to do it, it was so easy that when I saw the blue "low score" text pop up, I promptly did it two more times just to clear that. Without getting hit once.

Now that just leaves 13 cards that are probably utter nightmares but whatever  :yukkuri:
