I know, I know. But, she fought for us, defended us to her captain. She deserves a hug.
Incidentally, did anyone want to do anything between now and tomorrow morning? I was thinking of simply timeskipping after we're done with Neu and Chisato here, to save time. Fewer posts between this and whatever new complication awaits us then.

>Let her go, and back up a couple steps.
>"Sorry, sorry. After the days I've had... Well." Give her another smile. "Means a lot to have someone on your side."

I have nothing in particular, but then again I still haven't caught up, and won't have the chance to until the weekend.

>She nods slowly. "I... do understand that. I hope we can help you get what you need to in time."

>"Gotcha."
>Give Neu another grateful nod, and an answering smirk to Chisato, then depart the ship in search of foods.

>Time-Jump to the morning.

>You nod appreciatively at Neu again, then flash Chisato a smirk of your own and make your way off the ship in search of something to eat.

>After all the trials of the day, you decide you're in no mood to cook your own supper, so you just drop in at the nearest restaurant you pass which smells good. You end up having honey pork and fried rice at a bustling joint not far from the harbourfront. The food itself is satisfying and reasonably priced, but you find yourself feeling antsy; something seems wrong about sitting here, doing nothing.
>You finish up your plate then take to the streets, wandering about aimlessly in the hope of working off some of your nervous tension. In this, you are only partially successful. The sky starts to dim while you walk and a cool dampness settles into the air; evidently time has continued passing while your mind was absent. As you look up at the clouding sky, you feel a leaden weariness seeping into your limbs. You're more worn out than you'd expected, perhaps more than you'd even noticed; as busy as you've been today, you're still not in peak form from your ordeal of a few days ago. Maybe you should just go home and rest. The moist air tickles the inside of your nose as you draw a deep breath - will it rain tonight, you wonder?
>Eventually, you abandon your wanderings and cross back to the part of town that you know best of all. Almost unconsciously, you find yourself back in front of your own door; elsewhere in the neighbourhood, you can hear a few voices engaged in cheerful conversation - some of them you even recognize. For a brief moment, you think back on your apprenticeship and all the eagerness with which you had anticipated what you've now become. It seems so much longer than a week ago. You pull the small key out of your pocket and slip it inside the lock.

>As you open your door, you notice a small folded note on the floor, just inside your room.

>Sniff and look for signs of an intruder.
>If none present themselves, read note.

>You pull a kunai out of your pack.
>Then you take a good sniff of the room. Cheese... rotten cauliflower... You turn up your nose slightly at that, but it mostly smells like home, really. There are no obvious foreign scents, outside of a trace of ink on the note itself.
>Everything seems normal, so you bend down and pick up the note. It is little more than a piece of plain writing paper, folded in two. The handwriting on it is a little wavy, but otherwise unremarkable. It reads:

>"Nazrin, someone named Chisato came by the guild looking for you. She said to head back to the Blue Maiden right away. Apparently it's important. Naoki."
>You recognize the name as one of the Seeker apprentices.

> Mental note: Dispose of the rotten cauliflower once we're back home.

>You already threw said cauliflower in the trash this morning. You simply hadn't taken the trash itself out yet. You remind yourself to do this once you return.

>Musta slipped the note under the door.
>Back to the boat!

>That does seem likely.

>You leave your apartment, nearly as soon as you've arrived, and head back to the port. The sky continues to shed its light as you walk, the sun finishing its slow retreat beneath the horizon. The district has lost some of its earlier bustle with the coming of dusk, but the traffic here never truly stops. Further to the north, you can hear the oni quarter starting to take on its nighttime character, drunken revels replacing daytime industriousness.
>In contrast with the surrounding harbor, the Blue Maiden is busier than you've yet seen it. Several people are moving about on deck, including one or two that you don't recognize, and Murasa is in the middle of them, seemingly calling out orders of some sort.
