Is it possible to cut the vines close to where they are rooted without harming her?

Ladies and gentlemen, I feel the need to say that I've been thinking about this too much; so much so, I forgot something from a while back. Look what I found...

>The knife, supposedly, carries a similar power to Yuyuko and can invoke death from afar.

I had convinced myself that using the knife, in any way, was simply not acceptable and denied it ever being brought up in this quest.
However, what if...

>Could the Ayakashi Knife kill anything; even something like 'flowers' or 'vines from a youkai tree?'

It sounds stupid, and we don't know how much damage could be caused by using it in this way, but what if we ARE supposed to do this? Especially, if we take what Youmu has just said, that there is no other way out of here.

What do people think about this? Maybe wait on saying something till after Dormio has answered; gives us more of a discussion that way.

[Waits patiently.]

IIRC the knife is inside the bag too. So...

>Head for the bag.
>Come back with the bag.

Yes, we're testing the knife.

I said 'opinions' and 'what do you think about this,' with maybe a 'I had thought about such and such for a while' added to it.

Can we slow this down a little before jumping the action gun... please?

I've thought some more about this and I'd say the knife might actually work.
We do know the tree didn't like it, at all. This will most likely also apply to all parts of the tree (i.e. the veins). The only thing I'm worried about is how much it might affect Yuyuko, given that she was a part of the tree until a few minutes ago. But still, I think it's our best shot. We did already cut her free from the tree and she appears to have survived it, so I guess getting the veins out should be a minor issue in comparison.
It of course might backfire (if she's dependant on a connection to the tree and getting the remaining veins out completely severs that connection, she might die; but if that's the case, I don't think there's anything else we could do, anyway), but... I think we should try it.

Making her completely connected with the tree would be kind of evil, but still possible I guess.

The reason I made those actions was because we want to get the bag back eventually, whatever we plan on doing. Am I given the green light for at the very least this?

I see a green light; so I'm happy with that~

>"Youmu, please stay here; I'll be right back."

>Move to whichever room our bag was in and retrieve it.
>Check to see if the Ayakashi Knife is still in there.

>Then, go back to the room with Yuyuko & Youmu.
