I didn't think of that solution and yes, it is. It's pretty much perfect.

>Walk next to her and smile.

>"Then let us head out then."

>Let her walk forward first, before quickly picking up her Roukan blade; just the one sword.
>Follow her; try and make sure she doesn't spot we picked it up.

[More to your taste, Omba? This way, we have at least one sword we can hand to Youmu. And yes, I did think that too.]
>You give Youmu a reassuring smile.
>"Okay..."
>Youmu begins to walk forward.
>Before you follow her, you quickly pick up the Roukanken and hold it behind you, hiding it from Youmu's view as best you can.
>The two of you make your way to the Saigyou Ayakashi.
>"Yeah... It's definitely not as strong as it was before..."
>You eventually reach the tree, where Yuyuko is still sitting on the vines.
>As Yuyuko sees Youmu, you see a smile on her face.
>"Youmu, it's been so long! How have you been?"

> Watch Youmu for any peculiar reactions as we approach the tree.
>Youmu seems to be slightly discomfortable, but as far as you can see it isn't as bad as it was the first time.
>Youmu looks somewhat shocked.
>"L-lady Yuyuko? Is that really you?"

This is a completely serious note. If Youmu starts losing it while Yuyuko is hugging her, she won't be letting go. She's one with the tree. :(

>"I can't take this world! Everything is wrong, things shouldn't be like this! Where did everyone go? What happened to the garden? What happened to the sky?"
>"... And what happened to you?"
>Yuyuko looks rather taken aback as Youmu begins to shout. You're rather surprised yourself.
>"Lady Yuyuko, why did you abandon me for that tree?"
>"But I didn't-"
>"Yes you did! You left me alone in this world so that you could be with that tree!"

>"Am I not good enough for you? Is there something that that tree can do that I can't?"
>"Youmu..."

>Youmu turns to leave and you see Yuyuko reach out after her.
>"Wait! Youmu!"
>Yuyuko flies foward, arm outstretched towards Youmu. You can see a few vines detach themselves from Yuyuko as she chases after Youmu.
>"Wai-"
>Suddenly, Yuyuko goes limp. More vines extend from the opening in the tree and start going towards Yuyuko.
>Youmu turns when Yuyuko stops mid-sentence to see the vines reaching towards Yuyuko.

Okay, time to think carefully here. Cutting whatever vines are still attached to Yuyuko is an option; followed by running the f*** away, with Youmu repelling the vines if we hand her the sword.
We could also run now and leave Yuyuko behind to stay with the tree; but we may send Youmu into deep pit of despair because she'll think it's her fault once we get away.

Discuss~ I won't be back for another 4 - 5 hours.

Apparently, we've been given a chance to free her. Of course we're going to take it. Youmu seems pissed, but I think she'd still use the sword well. The problem is... I think she's too far away at this point. Actually...

>How far away is Youmu from us?

We definitely want to cut down those vines. The question is, what do we do after that? We have a monster tree that's going to go berserk, and something tells me leaving Youmu behind to repel it is a terrible idea.

Afterwards is simple: we get the hell away from the tree.

>We can't form a gap out of Hakugyokuro for whatever reason, but could we form a gap to another location within Hakugyokuro?

If we can do that, getting away is simple. If we can't, we'll just have to run for it.

Also, do remember that Youmu can move fast (200 Yojana in One Slash, anyone?). She could presumably get in, get Yuyuko, and get out really damn quickly.

I was implying that we might want to 'save Hakugyokuro' too. I guess this isn't a priority for Yukari, but for Youmu(/Yuyuko?) it is.

>You quickly take in the situation around you.
>You are roughly ten meters from the tree. Yuyuko is roughly eight meters from the tree, but the vines are beginning to pull her back towards the tree, as well as there being more vines extending from the tree towards Yuyuko. Youmu is about twelve meters from the tree.
>You are skilled with most common weapons, including swords.
>Youmu looks somewhat panicked. You think that she should still be able to wield a sword properly though.
>There are still numerous vines attached to Yuyuko. Whether or not you could cut through them all depends on how tough they are. If they were normal vines, you could cut through them with ease.

>How far away is Youmu from us?
>Youmu is roughly two meters further from the tree than you.

>We can't form a gap out of Hakugyokuro for whatever reason, but could we form a gap to another location within Hakugyokuro?

Okay, GymO has reminded me that Youmu, can indeed, strike very quickly; despite her being a little further away then us.
I've got the idea to call out Youmu, throw the sword to her, and tell her to cut the vines. The second she does, we need to be ready to...

A) Catch Yuyuko
then
B) Get moving asap.

Whether or not people think Youmu will react quick enough or not is for you guys to decide. We could cut it instead, but I have a feeling Youmu is key for this.

So, yes or no?

She'll definitely be doing a better job at it than us...

Also, we can fire danmaku. Don't know what the effect will be, but it's an option.

Yes, this is fine.

>You toss the Roukanken towards her, much to her surprise. Youmu fumbles slightly, but manages to grab the sword as you shout for her to sever Yuyuko from the tree.
>When you look at Youmu again, holding the sword, she looks calm and composed.
>Youmu then proceeds to disappear, reappearing in an instant beside Yuyuko, sheathing her blade. When did she draw it, anyway?
>Once the sword's hilt touches the sheath, the vines all begin to fall apart and Yuyuko begins to fall to the ground.
>You catch the falling Yuyuko, and the vines immediately begin to shoot towards Youmu and yourself.
>Youmu leaps back instinctively.

>After about you fire off two rounds of danmaku, it seems that you've managed to get far enough away that the tree's vines have stopped chasing you.
>You catch up to Youmu, who came to a stop after the vines had stopped chasing the two of you, when another surge of the tree's aura passes by the two of you.
