I thought it was implied there would be subsequent papers after the "First one" when Icedfairy answered that the first paper would be easy to write since there's not a whole lot of knowledge about the demons to go around. You'd probably get another round of 26 Weeks, with a higher Research value needed to finish Patch's second assignment.

Yes, i read this game often. I just suck at planning, and have nothing to contribute.

For some reason, I recall the initial time limit for the Patchy research being 26 weeks.

Since we've done that already, does the game end after week 26, or does she drop a new assignment on us?
New assignement, though I very much doubt you'll take so long as to need to worry about it.

Also, I think we should cast Demonic Summoning on Ferra again and get her to create tools for Heather (because of the income bonuses) and Elspeth (because we might get an extra special action).

Also, if we end up finishing Fire Mastery and we have a bit of research left over, pour the remnants into Razorvine.

Apparently, Thomas the Tank Engine isn't one to take crap from anyone.

Your harvests have been increased for a little while, granting you more income.  It's possible that could aid special actions related to growing things, but you've maximized your profits pretty well earlier.

Research the improved defense tower. If there are any points left, pour them into any spell that is NOT Break 4th wall, If Break 4th wall is the only available spell, pour the points into it.

I question building the Tower right now, as I don't know that we need +50 Mana so badly that we're willing to dump all of our wood on it. I think I'd rather converserve wood by building something small (a defense tower, maybe the office) or building nothing at all, and saving up for a couple of turns until we have the iron to get our Mansion. I am very curious to see what it unlocks.

EDIT: The 50 Mana from the tower would be good for +80 Wood per turn after Create and Transmute with Gems...eh. We're not doing a whole lot with our mana these days anyway, so this wouldn't be as much of a bonus as it could be if we were still naming devils.

I think I would rather build the office, as we can recover 400 wood in 2 turns with Sakaki alone, and that should be enough time to get the iron for the Mansion.

Serela, apply your mathemagics to this. Presuming we keep converting gems and such, how much is that extra mana from the tower going to help? About the only thing we need it for is converting gems to other materials. And with gems as our bottleneck, especially given how so many things need them, how much would it slow us down on certain things?

That depends highly on how newly unlocked buildings from the mansion will cost. With the gems we're producing, they're no longer a bottleneck at all unless there's a lot of high gem cost structures after Mansion as well; mana is our bottleneck. Well, being limited to one build per turn is our real bottleneck at least for the moment, but, you know.

I'd say it's safe to assume there are going to be high cost things from the mansion unlock, so the Tower at the least isn't not going to be helpful. We won't be able to build the mansion next turn or anything with a tower build now, but we definitely won't miss out on a building phase with gem transmutation magic, so it's fine. It's probably better, too, since having the extra mana earlier means we get start using it earlier too for higher production rates.

Soon Yuki found herself sinking to new lows of humiliation.  Apparently the item Elspeth had asked for was the motherboard to a massive "fox computer."  Which meant now Shiki was looking down on the two in Mai's ridiculous outfits from a giant screen.

"You've been doing well for yourselves." She said casually.  "In fact there's some talk of you being almost the local nobility in the area."

Both Yuki and Mai twitched at that, they could just imagine Yumeko sharpening her knives in the background.  "Uh, that's surely an exageration."

"So humble," Shinki said with a smile.  "Well I hope you're still taking care of all my little devils.  I felt some weird things from two of them, but I figure that one of those magical residue things right?"

Yuki looked over at Mai who shrugged and returned the questioning gaze.  Could Shinki really sense what happened to ALL of her creations?  Finally Yuki stated, "We haven't felt anything, but we'll have Marie take a look to see that they're all still healthy."

"That's good to hear.  Well anyway, I won't take up any more of your time.  I'll let you go back to whatever you two were doing."  She winked, "Though I hope you let the devils join in too sometimes."

Yuki flushed deep crimson as the moniter went off.  "She has to know about the secret identity thing right?  I mean how else does she have the channel right?"

Mai shrugged.  "So Joan and Ruby are in trouble?"

Yuki frowned.  "Maybe...."

Elspeth nodded.  "I have supplies ready for your journey."

"Chevron 6 locked!"

Yuki glared at the imposing structure.  "What was Ferra thinking?"

Mai just shrugged.

The gate opened.

Yuki dodged a bolt from the Staff weilding guardsman and set him afire.  There was a return bolt, then an explosion as the rest of Yuki's spell kicked in.

"You done with those fishmen?" she yelled back to Mai.

Mai snapped her fingers, then nodded as the monsters shattered into a million pieces.

Suddenly a great weight slammed into Yuki from above.  She tensed as a knife pressed against her neck.  Then a familiar voice said, "Oh!  The Black Cat!"

The knife and weight disappeared.  Sitting up Yuki found Ruby standing there in torn clothes, with a startling array of weapons strapped on.  "Sorry about that.  My friend and I got trapped here."

"Apparently there are two alien groups sharing the space.  One of them tried to kidnap me a bit a go and we're gunning for revenge after messing with my sister Hibachi.  The others are trying to turn Joan into some sorta guard drone, though fortunately that can't work since we're bonded to Mistress Yuki."

In the hallway she could hear Apophis calling to her companions, "Come on you two, why do you keep glaring at me like that!?  It's disturbing.  Especially coming from you Joan!"

"Very bad," Yuki muttered.
Event:It was a loooooong day.  Involving aliens.  With an Egyptian fetish.  Served by Fishmen.
Gained 14 stress from the morning shock, 4 stress from combat.  Joan was hurt but recovers quickly.
This weeks work caused 4 stress.
Joan is wounded, but has fast recovery
Sakaki is restless.

Enhance Devil - 50 mana - Doubles Devils effectiveness at the cost of a week of exhaustion.
Devil Trigger - 200 mana - Doubles Devils effectiveness
Demonic Summoning - 50 mana - +1 special action.  Activated devils can act again.
Empower Gem - 1 gem 100 mana - Gives you 50 mana to use later.
Money Tree - 1 gem, 5 mana - Ads 5 income
Planar Portal - 10 gems 50 mana or 15 gems 100 mana - Creates a portal to a location inside/outside of Makai.

Special Actions - Maximum 7 - Limit one per devil/magician
Stress Relief - Helepolis.  Removes d10+5 stress.
Grind levels - Ruby.  Helps (slowly but safely) level Ruby and gets random drops.
Dance Party - Requires Dancer, Bartender.  Devils do not become bored at the end of the week.   Morale may be gained, and stress may be gained or lost depending on RNG.  This party costs d4 * 4d10 in cash.  Butler can decrease the multiplier.
Forge Tool - Ferra.  Once per devil spend $1000 and 5 gems to gain a level.
Support - Elmina.  By using her action one special action automatically succeeds.
Fight Crime - Mai.  This weeks event is canceled and reduces notoriety.  Mai and Yuki may be injured.

Obvstuff:Build Wine Cellar, 20 Gems into Iron, research Wood Mastery (or Earth if people want it more), have Mai and Eskarina help with the research.

I think we can build the mansion next turn.
