Has anyone actually leveled a Pokemon to 100 without rare candies?
I have, and I was all the more powerful for it.

I used to EV train to Lv100 for a living.

Oh goddammit. Now that's it's winter, Clerk Trisha has left me :colonveeplusalpha:

What about 13 minutes?

I don't think an additional minute would've helped me remember the remaining 69 Pokemon in the Unova region :ohdear:

So... I wanted to check something on my Ruby cartridge. The game was working just fine last time, which was about a month ago.

The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played. However, clock-based events will no longer occur.

...The hell?! It was working fine, I swear it was! And it's not even 10 years since I got it! JUST. HOW. Oh wait, what about Yellow and Crystal? If this thing's battery is dead, those two must be gone by now too. Or should they?

Yellow's battery is fine. It still loads the last file I had fine. Crystal? It asks to set the time up, but otherwise the file loads fine, complete with me having a red sprite for the female character due to trying a glitch for that. But if the file's still in it, and IIRC, unlike Ruby the save file depends on the battery too, so that means it hasn't run dry.

Then, how in the world do these two still work, while Ruby's only powers up the clock and has less YEARS since buying it?! HOW?! :V

Seems like I'll have to practice my soldering. But I'm afraid of killing the cartridge if I replace the battery myself.

Yeah my Sapphire battery is also gone, so I guess the ADV ones aren't as long lasting

It sounds like this problem. Nintendo did release a patch for it, although I don't know how easy it would be to get nowadays.

All my second generation Pokemon games died a few months ago. ;-; I bet my Ruby game is gone also. I guess Nintendo figured by the time the internal batteries ran dry they wouldn't already have the next generation out and nobody would care anymore.

:<

As for why Yellow still works, it's probably because it doesn't have an internal clock that constantly sucks the internal battery even when the game is off.

Baity: For a moment, I thought you broke 1.1billion. Upon looking at my score.dat, I can assume that you destroyed the score that is my failed (first!) 1cc attempt on my first day of playing. Congratulations.

Not exactly, but thanks.

When a game has this glitch, you don't get any message at startup. Time simply stops, and you can check on the Space Center, where you will get a silly amount of successful rocket launches. Not to mention my game got the patch for that when downloading a Jirachi from the Colosseum Bonus Disk.

Actually, from the very link you provided:

Quote from: Bulbapedia
Games afflicted by the glitch will not display the following message upon start up: "The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played. However, clock-based events will no longer occur." This message is displayed when the internal battery has run dry.

So... This is more like the battery is dead for real. :ohdear:

As for why Yellow still works, it's probably because it doesn't have an internal clock that constantly sucks the internal battery even when the game is off.

That would explain things. Wonder how long it'll last, tough...

If you're talking about B/W, you can get a free Heart Scale per day in Driftveil City, in the house directly to the west of the Pokemon Center. All you have to do is show the lady a Pokemon with a specific move.

Apparently you can get them if you fish in the whirlpool spots that come up.  You can find 'em in Driftveil Town, Route 4, Undella Town, and Undella Bay.

Apparently, Thomas the Tank Engine isn't one to take crap from anyone.

Okay, I found two Luvdisc and tried using Thief. Nothing.

Am I doing something  wrong?

Apparently, there's a 50% chance it'll be holding a heart scale.  It should be fine if you keep trying.

The best part is you can play as much as you like.

That kind of kills the whole deal, since the fanboys are gonna just keep voting for their favorite and completely throw off any sort of balance :P

Actually it seems pretty balanced so far. I see some stuff like Zekrom vs Squrtile and I assumed Zekrom would be dominating but it was 50/50

On the subject of event Pok?mon... Anyone happen to have an event Regigigas? Still on a Gen IV game?

I'd like to unlock the Regi trio in Platinum, but could never get one of those. As for what I have to offer, I have any of the Crown Beasts (the ones that unlock Zoroark in BW), the Gamestop Celebi (Unlocks an event in HGSS, also Zorua in BW), and the "Pikachu colored" Pichu (Unlocks Spiky-Eared Pichu in HGSS).

Keep in mind that my timezone is GMT -06:00, and I can only do the trade during the evening.

Pok?mon Global Link is up. You may game sync and tuck a Pok?mon in to access the Dream World.

Keep in mind that, apparently, some people are having issues (possibly due to server load). Also, no idea how to claim the Eeveelution you get from the breakout game.

This isn't directly related to Pokemon, but I've been playing an insanely hilarious map on Warcraft 3 called Pokemon Defense.

It's... pretty well-made from what I've played of it, just needs some balance changes. Some of the Pokemon appear as they usually do, in other words custom models - this applies for some Legendaries like Jirachi, and some of the older Pokemon like Squirtle et. al.
