I'll wager that they are "funny-looking" because they have a terrible disease or something.
Anyway, 7. Sucks to be the boss, yes.

I probably could have done a less bloated job of stitching them together but I added the myths and other background to the second post of the thread. Even the one we just got the full myth for, because I remembered that I have virtual machine savestates so I backed it up and then passed up the event we're on and then restored my backup so we're right where the thread left off. :V

Is it actually his religious duty to betray us? If so, 2. Can't fault him for doing his job.

And then just give them Iskalli's cows 7

And keep Mosdorl because he's beginning to be really fun :D

... we had a tie for where to start (and this event I'm pretty sure only allows one).

<ArashiKurobara> @choose 5 or 7
<Keine-tan> ArashiKurobara: I choose...7! ^_^V

Welp, after that cow hit I don't think I wanna sac more this year. >_> Thankfully exploring our own turf doesn't take the Dark season penalty! (Unthankfully, I forgot to screencap the "send off explorers" screen. Not like it's any different than any other time we've explored our own turf. =P)

As your people explore your tula, you find many unusual features. One of these is a cave. The cave is inhabited by large, armored rodents with huge mouths filled with teeth, each as sharp as a needle. The creatures swarm out of the cave and attack the carls who found the cave, injuring several of them. The people are worried that these creatures will cause more harm.

1. Block the cave entrance.
2. Have Mosdorl lure them away with trickster magic.
3. Find outsiders to exterminate the creatures.
(p.s. this costs goods)
4. Order your weaponthanes to exterminate the creatures.
5. Shrug and go about your business.

The weaponthanes say this is a matter for the carls to deal with. They are not rat-catchers. (1)
(Yeah OK get better already you useless fuck.)
We need some kind of magic solution to this infestation. (2)
Why risk getting bitten ourselves, when we can find someone else to do it for us? (3)
The carls say that this is a killing matter, and thus the responsibility of the weaponthanes. (4)
These things are called Rubble Runners. They multiply like mad and are very dangerous. The only way to get rid of them is to kill each and every one of them. (3, 4)
We should send them over to the Zethnorings. They'll recognize them as their kin, I'm sure! (2)

FUCKING RUBBLE-RUNNERS.

Anyway. With this event, every option has a chance to get rid of the rubble-runners for good, but it's pretty slim. As in, we will see this again, nearly guaranteed. Since using a trickster is basically the best way to deal with it (blocking the cave pisses off the carls who have to do it, making the weaponthanes do it pisses them off, doing nothing pisses off everyone, hiring dudes costs money), unless there's some sort of strong opposition to this decision that was basically unanimous to start with, I'm just going to do that every time they show up. 'K?

Oh hey I remembered to screenshot this time.

We find absolutely nothing except some chump bandits we kick into last week. (There's probably still plenty of stuff. Arengee is just displeased with us for some reason.)

Warriors of the Zethnoring clan burst into the stead of Orlkensor, one of your prominent carls. They beat him severely and slash him with their swords. They also hurt his wife, Karendra when she tries to intervene. They flee before other defenders can be roused to fight them. Karendra says that they are taking vengeance on Orlkensor for beating one of their clan-mates after a drunken meeting in the forest lands outside your tula.

1. Encourage Orlkensor to sponsor poetic revenge.
2. Encourage Orlkensor to sponsor violent revenge.
3. Launch a legal claim against the attackers.
4. Launch a punitive raid against the Zethnoring clan.
5. Persuade Orlkensor to forswear vengeance.

The nastiest revenge is not always the bloodiest. (1)
( >=| )
They must pay for this! (4) (... dude you are the worst Chalana Arroyan. Except for that one dude in Haifisch's LP.)
Left to his own devices, Orlkensor will pursue violent revenge.
Orlanth undermined the Bad Emperor with scathing kennings. The Emperor heard Orlanth's verses sung by his birds and mooed by his cattle. This is why all the Emperor's minions helped Orlanth when he came to rescue Ernalda. (1)
The people want to see Orlkensor's attackers pay for what they have done. (2)
This situatio ncalls for the grey-beards. And the brown- and blonde- and red-beards too. (3)

Beards are the answer to everything. (Unless violence is. Then beards are even more the answer.)

Poetic revenge is the best revenge.

Hopefully we can do it and legal revenge, too, because both are good. But poetic is just slightly better and all our ancestors needed.

Poetry: making fun of your enemies for fun and... well I guess usually not profit. Especially because come on man Iskalli should actually be a damn good poet, hire us for it.

The omens from the year's start proved true...

... so let's get some cattle from these chumps instead.

Elkenvali patrols: useless pieces of shit since at least 1331.

This dude, it turns out, is only Very Good at Combat, so play it a little safe.

Flawless victory!

Blah blah insert further Elkenvali warrior snark here..

Engarna, we lost ONE GUY and it's Storm season anyway. Also, yay random farmer chick?

And thus, it is again Sacred Time.

Heroquest options and their available rewards, now that we have something safer than Elmal's!
The Making of the Storm Tribe: gain Orlanth's blessing for tribe-making (even though
Spoiler:
we can't form a tribe until our reputation maxes anyway
, improve our reputation or political abilities, or make the quester a strong leader.
Elmal Guards the Stead which fuckno we totally aren't doing yet because it's a really hard one but just for completeness's sake: strengthen our defenses, gain fine horses, strengthen our leaders or the quester, ward against chaos, or reconcile the weaponthanes.

You've got lots of time to put in specific heroquest opinions, since Orlanth's heroquests are best performed during Storm season, but if you've got an opinion, voice it!
