All real relationships require shared resources. So Moriya will provide Hakurei, with worshipers, faith, and actual gods. Hakurei will provide Moriya with... I dunno additional land. Merger? More like takeover, sorry Reimu.

Then Utsuho would be very, very happy. Everyone else, considerably less so, especially Cirno and Letty. Reimu would set out to figure out whodunnit and probably beat up a few youkai before getting tired and falling in the lava. Utsuho'd probably be the only survivor so Touhou 14 would be about her and... uh... ...hrm. Well, Touhou 14 would probably be a very boring game. People would get kind of upset over that and ZUN may receive a few angry letters demanding their money back for a game with nothing but Okuu flying over lava. Naturally some people would consider it a pretty darn innovative idea, because some people will support just about anything. We may end up seeing the emergence of a new sub-genre of games where "nothing happens" as a result.

In conclusion, this would be a very boring idea. Let's not flood Gensokyo with lava; indie gaming can only suffer from it. :/

...That or Yukari would be like, "LOL GODMODE BITCHES!" and manipulate the boundary between hot and cold to make everything okay again.

Your character would stay at the bottom firing Tetris pieces upwards, trying to make squares with the oppenents pieces causing them to dissapear and not hit you. All the qhile trying to barricade your opponents to prevent them moving.

EDIT: Edited my answer, because I mistakenly thought the Lunarians invaded Gensokyo, when it's actually Yakuri leading an invasion to the moon.

The rising importance of the economy would force youkai into getting jobs. Then again, Sakuya does mention people from the human village making the mansion's furniture in IN, so there's probably some sort of economy in Gensokyo already. And other shops than Kourindou. I guess Rinnosuke just sucks as his job.
