ULIL-styled Last Word for everyone
« on: September 09, 2016, 08:42:59 AM »
As we all know, only 15 characters were playable (16 if you count Reisen in the PS4 version) in Urban Legend in Limbo.

So the main point of this question is: if characters other than those 15/16 were playable in ULIL, what sort of urban legends/conspiracy theories do you think they will reference in their Last Word? Doesn't have to be a Japanese UL/CT.

Here's one of my ideas:

Murasa: The Philadelphia Experiment
How the attack goes: Upon casting this LW, arcs of electricity appears around the enemy with no apparent source, hitting the enemy 40 times. Five seconds later, a huge shockwave occurs followed by a massive naval battleship (the USS Eldridge) appearing all of a sudden and falls stern first onto the enemy, hitting her another 40 times while it is falling. The battleship then disappears afterward.
There's nothing inscribed on the dog tag...

Yukari Yakumo: The New World Order.
How the attack goes:  Upon casting, the whole surrounding become dark and the opponents became disoriented until a bright light came from above. The opponents then being forced to push upward toward the light by countless building and skyscraper, before it's revealing to be a rotating triangle with the "All-Seeing Eye" in the middle. The eye then firing a massive beam of light that take out the opponent and the surrounding building.

Kaguya: Hollow/Spaceship Moon
A replica of the moon is summoned, and then it opens up to reveal a laser cannon inside charging up and aiming at the opponent.  The rest should be obvious.

Komachi Onozuka: Short-Lived! Warranty Timer
The in-game timer is reduced by a set amount and each number is thrown at your opponent for damage.

Keine Kamishirasawa: Horrifying! The Cow's Head Tale
Keine transforms and gives you several headbutts that'll make you forget (lose occult balls).

Utsuho Reiuji: Mayhem! Pocket Neutron Bomb
Utsuho rides a giant nuclear bomb which stops suddenly and sprinkles red dust. Any dust that is touched by your opponent explodes.

Nue Houjuu: Mind Bending! Choose Your Own Reality
The background distorts and your opponent's controls are randomly switched around for a set amount of time.

Rumia could very well use Slenderman.

Do Conspiracy Theories count?

If so:

Utsuho: "jet fuel cant melt steel beams you stupid sheeple !!!!!"

Summons a Airplane which she flies across the air multiple times, and drops down hot jet fuel onto the ground.

Just thought up of another one.

Eirin Yagokoro: Moon Landing Hoax
How the attack goes: The LW creates a simulation of the Apollo 11 rocket launch, putting the opponent directly underneath the afterburners or directly above the tip of the rocket. Either way, the original countdown to ignition voiceover (as in the countdown from 1969 in real life) can be heard before the rocket's liftoff sequence hits the opponent and does massive damage to her. Whether the opponent is hit by the afterburners or the rocket itself, the LW ends with the rocket crashing back down on the opponent.

I have my favourite local urban legend but I'm not sure who should receive it. Here it is anyway:
Quote
THE YELLOW VOLKSWAGEN OF KARAK HIGHWAY
The Karak Highway is widely regarded to be extremely haunted. This is due to its dubious reputation of having the highest accident rate in the country. Whether it?s ghosts creating the accidents or the accidents creating the ghosts, it?s a question that can never be satisfactorily answered. Amidst the general feeling of hauntedness surrounding this highway, there are several supernatural stories that stand out.

Among them are the reported sightings of a mysterious yellow Volkswagen driving along the highway. You can only see this Volkswagen at night, and if you do see it ? be extra careful. Otherwise, you may become another accident statistic ? or worse!

The story goes that if you encounter this yellow Volkswagen, it will be blocking your lane. It would be moving very slowly, forcing you to overtake it. Once you have overtaken it, you will notice that a short while later, your headlights will show that you are approaching a yellow Volkswagen that is being driven very slowly. If you overtake it again, a short while later you will see that you are approaching a yellow Volkswagen that is being driven very slowly - again!

And if you look closely enough, you would see that there is actually nobody in the driver?s seat! Most motorists are warned to not overtake the car or it will keep appearing in front of you. Although, sometimes when you are overtaking it, the little car will speed up and disappear into the darkness.

A Hellcat went down the Hell's Highway after the Battle for Caen, "Byou". - Hannibal

Rockets don't have afterburners; those are components of jet engines. What you're probably looking for is rocket nozzles.

Here's some more...

Sakuya Izayoi: Die Glocke
How the attack goes: Sakuya begins by simply pulling out and activating the Luna Dial. But what comes next is far from simple- The eponymous bell-shaped object literally pops out of thin air before it spawns a singularity that sucks the opponent (and the arena itself) in. We then see the opponent (frozen in her "getting hit" animation) flying through a black void while Die Glocke flies past her several times. The LW ends with Die Glocke crashing into the opponent which causes a bright white flash to occur.

And someone you probably didn't expect...

Yumeko: Jack The Ripper
How the attack goes: Yumeko causes the arena to become pitch black. She then disappears into the shadows. The screen then focus on the opponent standing in the middle of the pitch black screen for a short while before they start hearing what sounds like footsteps coming closer to them. The camera zooms in closer to the opponent for every four footsteps. On the fourth zoom-in, the opponent's face pretty much occupies over half the screen, and it is at this point that the footstep sounds are replaced by the sound of a sword being unsheathed. The LW ends with Yumeko suddenly emerging from the darkness right behind the opponent (with the camera panning left or right depending on which direction the opponent is facing) and delivers a series of rapid-fire slashes and stabs (the hit counter will register 80 hits within 3 seconds just to demonstrate how fast it is). For bonus points, this Last Word will mute the background music for its entire duration.

Eirin Yagokoro: Moon Landing Hoax

Given Eirin's speciality, I would've gone with Operation INFEKTION.  Kinda dark, but Eirin is one of the darker characters...

(Great pick with the Philadelphia Experiment though!)

Thanks, mate!

More from me! Maybe I'm just too interested in conspiracies...

Alice Margatroid: Project MK Ultra
How this attack goes: On casting, the background is replaced with that of a modern city street complete with pedestrians and cars of all sorts, with the opponent standing smack in the middle of the crowd. Everything seems normal at first as the pedestrians and motorists mind their own business... until some of the people stops all of a sudden and slowly approaches the opponent. These people (actually Alice's dolls in modern street wear and human-sized) are revealed to have completely blank white eyes, and they all pull out modern firearms of all sorts and fires at the opponent non-stop for several seconds. The camera slowly pans back to reveal a tape recorder with the label "CIA" scratched out, and then snaps back in a flash to reveal that the tape recorder is held by Alice, who is wearing a black trench coat and fedora along with sunglasses.

Yeah, I know Alice should've been associated with something British, given that her character drew inspiration from a British fairy tale. But MI-6 doesn't seem to have their own equivalent of MKUltra, so I went with the above.
