Re-Mai-Lia?!

I was having a quick run-through of Mystic Square last night, and I came across the witch Mai. Now, some of you may know her, some of you may not.


This is Mai. She is the Stage 4 Boss B of Mystic Square, the partner of Yuki, but also the quieter one. Do you know what struck me?


Look closely at Remilia Scarlet. Then look at Mai. Coincidence?
The have the same colour scheme: blue-ish lilac-ish hair, pink shirt and skirt, pink head accessory. Their eyes are different colours, but they both have wings. Not the same wings, mind, but still wings.

What do you think of this discovery? Discuss.

Mai actually does get very similar wings to Remilia if you choose to first beat Yuki. Mai then goes all out, with her lil' angel wings growing into large, white, bat wings (that look pretty cool on her sprite). This can be seen here at 6:12.

This is what I found in Mountain of Faith, stage 5. In Marisa's scenario.
Just after Sanae's music comes up, she says:
"Why don't I do the punishing for you, instead?"

Maybe retribution for Marisa leaving the occupation of Mima's underling? I think in Story of Eastern Wonderland.

Wasn't there a crack theory that stated that the either YuugenMagen (or Kikuri) was actually Byakuren in her 'sealed state'? I remember that being tossed around quite a bit back when the full release UFO revealed that we were going to delve into Makai again.
