I have a Batallion's Backup but I somehow doubt that's worth paint. Seriously why can I never find good things.

The Medigun is a utensil that heals, and it is one of the most game deciding utensils in the game.
The Medic is German.
The German word for "victory" is "Sieg".
The German word for "Heal!" is "Heil!"

I think only Hats can be painted.

Unless they changed that.

If I get a name tag I'm naming my Kritzkrieg "Adolf Critler".  I'm sure I'll offend quite a few people with that.

I did see one medic who had his medigun named "SHUT THE FUCK UP I'M ALREADY HEALING YOU".  I understand his frustration.
Cheating? I cannot even wrap my head around the point of it. Wouldn't you know you had cheated? How on Earth could you maintain crisp certainty of your superiority to all others? And if you're unable to do that, what's the point of anything?

I saw someone using a Kritzkrieg with that name the week name tags came out.  If I can't think of anything better to rename, I think I may have to go with that. :V

I might do that...

I still laugh at "You're Eternal Reward" every time someone mentions it.

If I ever get my ultimate pyro hat (Unusual Vintage Merryweather, fire effect) it'll be named "Shining Vintage Merryweather" with the description "This hat of mine glows with an awesome power."

This is getting annoying, I've been getting a Steam Validation Rejected error when I join the first server after getting into the game. I simply just joined a random server first then go the the one I wanted to go to after the error. But now there is a 50% chance for me losing connection to the server 10 seconds after joining and if I try to join again I get the Steam Validation Rejected error. The I have to join a different server, then come back and hope I don't disconnect in the first 10 seconds.

These are the things I've tried that people have said to fix this:
1) Delete ClientRegistry.blob
2) Delete every .dll in the Steam folder
3) Defragment TF2 files
4) Verify integrity of files
5) Installed TF2 dedicated server
6) Added a file called steammapp_id.txt with 440 written in it on the source 2007 dedicated server/tf/ folder
7) Reinstalled game
8) Steps 1 through 4 again

Is there anything else that can fix this that I'm missing? I've done everything that comes up in a Google search

6) Added a file called steammapp_id.txt with 440 written in it on the source 2007 dedicated server/tf/ folder
That was intended for people running a dedicated server, not the client.  The closest analog for the client would be tf/gameinfo.txt:

Code: [Select]
"GameInfo"
{
game "Team Fortress 2"
type multiplayer_only
nomodels 1
nohimodel 1
nocrosshair 0
hidden_maps
{
"test_speakers" 1
"test_hardware" 1
}
nodegraph 0
GameData "tf.fgd"
InstancePath "maps/instances/"
advcrosshair 1

FileSystem
{
SteamAppId 440 // This will mount all the GCFs we need (240=CS:S, 220=HL2).
ToolsAppId 211 // Tools will load this (ie: source SDK caches) to get things like materials\debug, materials\editor, etc.

//
// The code that loads this file automatically does a few things here:
//
// 1. For each "Game" search path, it adds a "GameBin" path, in <dir>\bin
// 2. For each "Game" search path, it adds another "Game" path in front of it with _<langage> at the end.
//    For example: c:\hl2\cstrike on a french machine would get a c:\hl2\cstrike_french path added to it.
// 3. For the first "Game" search path, it adds a search path called "MOD".
// 4. For the first "Game" search path, it adds a search path called "DEFAULT_WRITE_PATH".
//

//
// Search paths are relative to the base directory, which is where hl2.exe is found.
//
// |gameinfo_path| points at the directory where gameinfo.txt is.
// We always want to mount that directory relative to gameinfo.txt, so
// people can mount stuff in c:\mymod, and the main game resources are in
// someplace like c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\<username>\half-life 2.
//
SearchPaths
{
Game |gameinfo_path|.
Game tf
Game |all_source_engine_paths|hl2
}
}
}

In any event you should really file a support ticket.

Also, check your connection logs in "team fortress 2/logs" and the console after you get kicked and see if there are any details.

I have a spare ushanka. I don't use it because I have the tough guy's toque which is totally awesome on him :V

I wish I'd find a hard counter though, that hat is pretty nice on heavy.

I don't have a Hard Counter, but I have the Pugilist's Protector. Though everyone says it has less value than other hats because you can get it in a crate.

I got lucky and had a Protector drop for me back when they were still on the Series 1 crates. Traded it for a Hotrod.

which is pretty dumb. If it looks nice, it's worth something. Even if you could get normal ze goggles in a crate, they'd still be the best medic hat regardless of what people say because it looks nice.

Yeah everyone values the max head and its crap ugly and doesn't fit in at all.
Hat value is stupid.

I'm sure soon every drop hat will be crated

Wouldn't crate hats have more value than shop hats? Isn't it better to pay between $2.50 to $10.00 for a shop hat than paying $2.50 for a 5% chance to get a hat?
