Well quater finals are over and the brackets for the semi finals are up.

And I'm loving this!

Both pretty even matches!

Patchouli vs. Kogasa and Alice vs. Youmu

This could go in any direction now and will make for an interesting finals match regardless.

I was surprised to see Youmu win that last match. Didn't expect it to be so one-sided (not that I'm complaining, since I voted for her).

The semi-finals are going to be interesting to observe. But the most important question is: will Kogasa persevere and get in the finals?

Didn't see Nitori losing though, not sure how Patchy won that one. other than spite voting against Nitori for beating Remilia

Not worth it, there's not enough voters left to require more time.
Also a pain because the vote counter would have to change and the vote cookie would have to change (its lifetime is 24 hours)

I'm not. She got exactly as far as I thought she could and lost to a character I think deserves to win more. And she didn't lose by some ridiculous margin either. Youmu's got the naivety and the personality quirks that fit the bill for moe better than Yuyuko does. Item of choice just won't matter to everyone, either.

Honestly, it could be just the inverse for a lot of people. Kogasa's personality is directly geared towards being a cheerful and cute kid. It doesn't help that her ability has reached meta status and the poor thing gets beat up so much that it's just natural to pity her. Patchouli, on the other hand, is sedentary at best and reticent on a good day. It took fandom a lot of effort to force cute on her by milking stuff like catch phrases. I'd be willing to wager that

Also just noticed how the level 2 bosses seem to be geared to be the cute, rambunctious kid types. Cirno, Chen, Mystia, Hina (maybe not so much, but still cute), Kyouko, and uh...

Anyway, Kogasa fits the bill for that real well.

To me, this would be a much closer match if Nitori got through instead of Patchouli. As it is, Kogasa blows her away.
