first, if you have irc, our channel is

you need to have wc3, patched to the latest version, as well as the newest map, http://www.mediafire.com/?1vc15am6kxvnx24
that's all you need.

If you want to be able to see the font and text, you'll have to install fontcraft, which is in the op. Just follow the explanation of how to install it and you'll be fine.

oh you'll also want to download and install an older version of Hamachi, so you can play over lan with us.

Newer versions of Hamachi gives trouble with Dots afaik. Uninstall and reinstall 1.0.5.0 (or w/e it was).

Also finished editing ALL girls on the wiki. Now you can easily back track info. How ever they are based on 0.952e and newest version is 0.953a orz

That is because you never played with us :V We all run the older version so it remains consistent. Perhaps the new map versions are better designed for latter Hamachi versions. I have no idea.

I tried playing the Chinese version once, back a few years. Didn't like it that much. Is there a reason to play this over DotA, other than the Touhou theme?

We play mainly chinese version because it is the most updated version.

Aside from subjective opinions, no.

Edit: on second reading, if you played it a few years ago, the character balance was extremely horrible I heard. According to several people it seems to be better now. As well as having a new bigger map and more girls being added.

I don't think there's any reason to exclusively play only one AotZ style game. while it belongs to the same genre of rts as dota, it has some different mechanics such as the point and power up system, faith system, creeps scaling and some other stuff. I don't know what the map was like years ago, but I don't think there's any harm in giving the newer ones a try.

as a clarification for the D skill, from what I have observed

The bonus damage for skills (or specifically her F) is calculated this way

The skill gives a passive 10/20/30/40 magic damage bonus as a base. The amount of bonus skill damage is just the percent multiplier times this number, so using her F skill would deal an additional 120 damage with level 4 of the first skill. When the D skill is activated, her base bonus damage doubles, so in effect all her percents also double, thus 240 bonus damage on her F.

As for the silence and the enemy girls under this effect taking additional damage, I don't think that's part of the skill. Her E skill seems to only last about a second. Is there any other interpretation of it?
