Buying from Japan - import fees?
« on: November 05, 2009, 01:20:30 AM »
I'm buying Touhou games from Paletweb, and have a few questions.

(1) I'm going to be using Paypal.  From what I can see, there's no real way for me to rescind my payment; has everyone's experiences with Paypal been good?

(2) I assume I'm going to have to pay some sort of import taxes at some point.  How/where do I do that?

Paypal is good, just make sure your account is really ready and that you have funds in it before you buy. Bank account transfers may not be immediate, so be aware of that.

Worry about import taxes later. You'll be notified, if you need to pay them at all.

You don't need to have a Paypal balance to buy.  Just transfer from your credit card and it'll be fine.

Now I don't know where you live, but I've never had to pay a tax importing into the U.S.--just the price and shipping.
