>Shouldn't he be dead now? Uh..

>Any human who has touched you before has seen their skin flame up and came down with quite a lot of poison. Dead, not quite; but with the pain they'd be in, they might as well be.

> "Wha--?!"
> Try not to freak out.

>Reita moves his hand away slightly as Keine rises to her feet; probably thinking the exact same thing as you. However, his hand looks relatively normal. In fact, it doesn't look inflamed in the slightest.

>"Erm... Sorry. Did I do something wrong?"

>You're not freaking out; Su-san is doing that for you. Trust me, she's completely lost it right now.

>He didn't do anything wrong. Just, you know, you don't let people touch you for that one reason. He seems fine though.

>"Sorry either way. Anyway Keine, she claims she isn't responsible for it."
>He has turned back to the silver haired girl.
>"I'm sure you've heard the phrase 'innocent until proven..."
>"I'm aware of it." Reita sounds pretty serious. "Doesn't help when I've got two people on this case and a couple more who probably won't listen to anyone else."

>As the two continue to talk, you attempt to calm Su-san down. It's working some what, though she still seems flustered; pointing at Reita still.
>Now that you mention it, his hair is turning blue; not the bright blue either. It's going pretty dark.

>For once, you really have no idea. No really; where there should be a hint of poison on him, you can't sense any. His hair is pretty much all blue now; yet Keine doesn't mention it.

>"If by those, you mean the maidens and the magician, I can see your point. But that doesn't change the fact she could potentially..."
>"I know this. HE knows this. It's why he told me to come see you. It's like he placed his trust in me finding her first."
>"Then why couldn't he have come here himself?"
>"Perhaps..."

>A scream from outside catches them both by surprise and the two rush for the door. Of course, you're slightly in the way.

>You jump out of the way as the two storm through; Reita first with weapon in front.

>You follow them through the corridor and out into the daylight again.

>COME BACK! COME BACK!"

>A very frightened and tearful woman (human) is looking to what is your left; holding her arm far out. She notices you three emerge.

>"She... She can't have... It's not... I..."

>She breaks down into a heap; nearby is another body with blood trickling down him.
>To say Keine and Reita are calm would be slightly false. Keine goes to attend to the lady whilst Reita looks in the direction she pointed at.

> Follow Reita out.

>Seems like no-body likes you today. Well, even worse than before it seems.

>You follow Reita out of the village; though for some reason he's walking quicker than before. He doesn't look back once, but you have a feeling it's a serious issue.

>Look at Reita
>"You. Explain."

>As you keep looking at him, and once you're quite a bit away from the entrance to the village, you demand answers.

>"That lady, Keine, is a guardian, of sorts, of the Human Village. Incidents in there are normally dealt by her. If humans are being potentially killed by something or someone, Keine will more than likely do what she thinks is best."
>He holds the still folded-up note in his left hand and sighs.
>"Well, that's what I know from what I have about her so far."

>"And uh, you know something happened to your hair, right?"

>Reita blinks at you and touches his hair. He pulls out a couple of strands and looks at them, before laughing a little.
>"Oh wow; and there I was thinking it would have worked that time. Seems I didn't take into account such..."
>He pauses and holds his weapon up before bringing the sharp curvy bit towards your neck and letting it linger there.
>"You tried to kill me, didn't you?"

Methinks we're giving this guy much too much of our patience, given he's done nothing but drag us around, spout accusations, and threaten us.

>Do we have control over people getting poisoned when they touch us?

>This normally depends on the person and how strong the sense of poison is. Even then, control is quite hard to maintain. But you can't sense any from him at all; which makes this scene worse. That blade is still there and he's not showing any sign of pulling it away either.

>"Wait, what? No! But, um, you touched me, and people who touch me usually get poisoned bad. Maybe that's it?"

>This is wrong. It's not your fault. However, Reita is not budging with this.

>"Maybe? At this point, answering 'maybe' isn't really the best response."
>You're not sure if that was a yell or him speaking in a slightly louder voice then usual.

>"What did you think was going to happen?"
>History reminder: did we beat Komachi during the flower incident? What about the Yama?

>He looks at you for a while before moving the weapon away from you and placing his hand on his forehead.
>"Yeah, I think I kind of looked past that one."

HISTORY LESSON #01

Medicine Melancholy was attacked by Komachi, a shinigami based along the Sanzu River. The intention was for her to be chased away, but Medicine over-came her; despite the poison not working to its full potential. She later took on The Yama herself; who Komachi works for. Despite her best attempts, Medicine was beaten; but not before she made The Yama aware that she could indeed control a great deal of poison, even in new surroundings.

>He un-folds the note and looks back and forth at where the village used to be and the note.
>He scrunches the note up and curses under his breath before pocketing it.

I imagine she can be both. Fair amount of stress since things turned on us at Eientei.

>To hell with him anyway; you'll have plenty to say to him when you see him again.

>Su-san comes off your head and floats near you again.

>Now where exactly would the red-white be? There's an actual forest up ahead now that you glance around you. Other then that, there's the mountain far away in the distance behind you now that the village has vanished. You're pretty sure you can see a big building in that direction too; looks like that mansion you went to for that party. As poor a choice as it might be, it might be worth it to try to find Higan again to try and squeeze info about Hartmann and such from Komachi and the Yama. We DID encounter a shinigami, after all, though going straight to the source might be unpleasant...
