Currently, you don't even need airs.  Vanguard has 17 wlk without really having a way to up that without tuning, extremely low tgh, and an even lower average lifespan.  Sure he hurts like hell if he catches you, but you can easily troll him with even a Lily with float dash.

Thus, he's the Glass Glacier, as my observations noted repeatedly.
But still, don't know just HOW tuned it is, better safe than sorry.

But if you want to troll him from maximum safety, use an air, preferably the fastest you can get your hands on.
Then proceed to buzz juuuuust outside his range.
You get to troll, and nail 'im down.
It's a Win-Win-Lose situation. (Win-Win for you, Lose for the poor sap rolling VF.)

Did some surveys and got myself 23 RT or so. Maybe I'll download that Fiesta game (used to play it when I first started playing MMOs) and I'll probably get enough for that Misty Hollow. I am not good at math :derp:
They think I'll think that they'll do (A) so they'll do (B) because I wouldn't think they'd think of that but then because they might think I know what they're thinking they'll do (A) after all because I wouldn't think they'd think that way.

If the Vanguard is dumb enough, he'll try to hit you with his sword from a mile away hoping the sword is long enough to reach you. I was backpedalling with Patty and the guy was just eating my bullets.

I''ll use a friend's Vanguard as an example:

What most people see:
High str
Giant-ass sword
Giant-ass sword with 42 force
GIANT-ass sword

What I see:
Lowish wlk even after partial tuning
No guns
No shields
Low HP
1 tec = near-useless wonderbit that'll end almost instantly
Giant-ass sword is more like a giant "please kill me" sign that you can beat people over the head with
High-priority target that will attract a LOT of attention
Zero anti-air capacity
Horrible tgh = stunlock trolling

It's more fun messing with them than it is Ouka. It's seems like he has a bigger hitbox. Also, if you could tune STR that high, why not put it into Walk or toughness? Or is his Strength naturally that high.

Between his core and his arms you're already at 26 str from those two parts alone.  You can get his str higher a lot easier than you can get his wlk higher, especially since wlk tunes neuter his already bad fly.

So then most players figure to play to the strengths, and leave the weaker stuff as-is.
Pitiful.
At least Ouka actually has some form of ranged.
All this bloke has in the way of range? His sword's massive size.
Ouka? Semi-decent speed, and at least SOME form of ranged combat.

The way I see it, Ouka was meant as a land-based fighter, able to zip around fairly well without flight.
This guy? There's ARTILLERY faster.

I'm not sure, but I think that Vanguard's sword swing might be slow enough for another melee bot to fight back. I got attacked by a Vanguard and I was able to hit him with my Kamui Staff before he could do the second swing.

Well, the Netflix and Fiesta Online offers for RT didn't work, and when I tried to complete a survey, an error occurred at the very end and I didn't get the RT.

My experiences with Ouka vs Vanguard disagree. :c

But Ouka can dash backwards while trolling with slash waves, so.

Couldn't you just...use the 12-use subweapon?
That Iai move that's really badass and useful in her story mode.
It wasn't all that useful on the boss, but consider that vanguard has low TGH, that would mean that you can lead off with Iai, and follow up with a barrage of swings.
Since Iai is very close to being hitscan.

Is that what the weapon's called?
If so then yes.

As I've experimented with the one owned by the story mission model, and it can't be TOO different than the one owned by the limited edition.
It has a fairly good range of effect, and is near-instant.

A vanguard would have no choice but to try to tank their way through it, but the attack hits hard.
And would leave them vulnerable to a followup attack, either lolswordbeams, or slice'n'dice, depending on how quick you are with the controls.
Or just repeated uses of it, and hope you snag some collateral.

Ouka Raisen's pretty terrible due to startup and end lag, it's just asking to get killed.

Also, tried out reV's lv0 Vanguard.  I'm starting to realize I underestimated him, it's just yet another case of people not knowing how the hell to play him.

After years a day of grueling survey spamming, I finally got enough RT to buy me a Misty Hollow. Just used her in an Epoch battle, such a fun bot to use.
I now have 3 RT left.

What should I tune my 2s Drill Knuckle with? Here's the stats and details:

COST 70
STR +1
WLK -1

SUB
DRILL
FORCE 35
AMMO -
RANGE 29
SPEED 55
INTERVAL 840

DETAILS
Standing: Drill (three hits) => Drill (three hits), finishing hit pushes back
Running: Forward Drill (three hits), finishing hit pushes back
Boosting: Homing Drill (three hits), aims straight at the nearest target

Well, I never said that you should use it exclusively, merely as an opener/finisher.
Sure there's a delay at startup and finish, but if you have fast enough reflexes you can zip away with minimal effort.
It's all dependent on catching the vanguard off guard, or launching it right before the swing.
Then relying on the damage dealt by ouka raisen to temporarily stun.
Since most bots with TGH below 20 tend to get hung up when attacked.

And it's entirely possible that it's folks not knowing how to play it.

As for the drill knucks, lemme think....force is usually a good pick isn't it?
Could always boost STR too though, but either one would work for me.

But of course, you aren't me.

If it was me though, I'd tune for a bit more force, and use homing drill often.
I need to get my hands on one of those really, my jikun hu would benefit from it.

Oh, on a union wars related matter...
I jumped into one after a while of semi-inactivity, and decided to equip a halberd on my jikun hu.
Cue me dragooning the first sap i came across.

That map "Temple Site" is hated by many players, but I myself love it. It's fun to count how many people die from falling off the platforms.

I would assume it has a set damage threshold, once it's exceeded, you gotta wait before bringing it back online.

Look at it in star trek terms.
Deflector Shields only can take a set level of damage before they fail.
The baltheon shield is likely the same.
