and now, I demand to be put back in for the fact of I must get back at those rat alien bastards.

(not really but then it's your choice if you want someone raeging through an alien base with a HWP I'm always available :VV:)

If there's no living quarters available, personnel cannot be stationed there. Pacific Watch was attacked during the gap of time between when construction started and when we were able to send people to handle security.

Our radar detected another alien ship over North Africa. It was quickly dispatched by an interceptor; the damage was so severe that nothing was left of the craft.

We've hired a few more engineers for the armor project at the engineering division. Everything should be completed in about two weeks.

Another UFO was spotted in the Middle East, where it landed a short while later. The Skyranger was sent to the site to neutralize the aliens there. Hanzo is temporarily replacing Anthony as our remote operator for the heavy weapons platform.

PURVIS: Okay, we're at the site.
CHAORE: I'm setting out a flare.

CHAORE: Area immediately outside looks clear.
HANZO: I'm sending the HWP out to scout.

HANZO: It's hard to tell at this distance, but I think I've spotted the craft.
CHAORE: Throwing out another flare.

HANZO: Okay, it's definitely the ship.
?MUSCLES?: Using some incendiary rounds to light the surrounding area.

?MUSCLES?: Looks clear.

MADNESS CHASER: Me and a few other agents are moving out toward the ship.
PURVIS: Confirmed. Advance with caution.

CHAORE: Hey, where'd that Gray come from? Hang on, I've got this!

?GOOD SHOOTIN'?: We've got another Gray up here.

MADNESS CHASER: Okay, we're ready to move in on the ship.
?TWITCH?: All right, I'm going in.

?TWITCH?: Okay, all clear.

MADNESS CHASER: Good Shootin' and I will take the right, you and Good Enough take the left.

?GOOD ENOUGH?: We're ready to move into position here.

MADNESS CHASER: We're ready to move into position here.

?GOOD SHOOTIN'?: Okay, going in and ? SON OF A ?

MADNESS CHASER: Damn it, they got Good Shootin'. I'm seeing three Grays in the cockpit area.

MADNESS CHASER: That's one!

MADNESS CHASER: That's TWO!

MADNESS CHASER: THAT'S THREE!

?TWITCH?: There's another Gray here, I've got the shot.

?TWITCH?: I'm pretty close to this Gray, I'm going to try and stun it... Damn, didn't work!
?GOOD ENOUGH?: I'm coming in to back you up... damn it, can't get a clear shot!

[the transmission cuts out at this point; we determined during the debriefing that there was a firefight, in which both ?Twitch? and the Gray were killed. Another Gray, which was in the engine room, ambushed and fatally shot ?Good Enough?. That alien was neutralized by Madness Chaser.]

Following up on our performance at Novosibirsk, this is dismal in comparison. We had a record number of casualties during this operation. The armor we have developed has been shown to be grossly insufficient for protecting our operatives; this does not bode well for our plans for an assault on the recently-discovered alien base.

There is good news, however. The research team has completed work on the analysis of the ?Elerium?. While we cannot replicate it like we could with the alien metals, its unique physical properties make it ideal for powering weapons and equipment made from reverse-engineered alien technology.

I have but a single, minor complaint.

MY LINES AREN'T HOTBLOODED ENOUGH.
I'm the kinda guy that gets into what he does, and loves it. Ya know?

Of course, they have to have liberal doses of Snark too, for example.......

>Upon Engaging a Grey: "Well, I always knew they looked like that."
>Upon downing a Grey: "Looks like it really IS only Black and White.
>Upon Engaging an Indigo: "Well, aren't you just a vision of loveliness?" (Meant to be sarcasm, obviously.)
>Upon downing an Indigo: "Hmm....It looks like the boys back at the base'll have to do some assembly. Hope they like jigsaw puzzles!" (Think TF2's Demoman.)
>Upon engaging a Bull: "Oh-ho! You wanna tangle with me? I'll show you who's got the harder head here, BRING IT ON!"
>Upon downing a Bull: "Hah! That'll teach ya!"
>Upon Defeat: "Outta credits eh...?"
>Injured: "Damn, they're pretty good!"

But yeah, the armor's crap, I'm lucky i had that HWP to protect me.

We've lost too many field agents lately from botched missions. There isn't enough in the budget to hire replacements until next month, and I've gotten to know the current ones too well to risk their lives recklessly.

Radar detected two alien craft; one above Scandinavia heading south at a high rate of speed, and one in Northern Africa. We were able to send one interceptor to immediately pursue the smaller craft; the second, which had been on patrol over Asia, was forced to return due to low fuel.

We were able to bring the small craft down in Cameroon. However, the second, larger craft escaped pursuit. It was last seen heading eastward over Asia; we believe it is somehow related to the base in the Phillipines.

With our limited resources, we can not risk further casualties in the field. Until our situation improves, night missions will not be carried out unless absolutely necessary. A recovery team will be deployed at daylight to examine the crash site.

No more night missions eh?
Best course of action that.

I see nothing wrong with that, as it's quite sound.

The Skyranger arrived at the crash site shortly after dawn.

PURVIS: We're at the crash site.

HANZO: We've got a Gray inside that farmhouse.

HANZO: I hope they're insured.

HANZO: We're also fairly close to the ship.

CHAORE: I'm spotting a Gray off in the distance. I'm firing at it, but it's hard to hit at this range.
HANZO: I'll take a shot as well.

HANZO: Missed and hit the side of the ship. What's that thing made out of, anyway?

CHAORE: I can see it clearly now, I've got the shot!

?NOT ACIDUS?: I'm in the ship, there's a single Gray. Opening fire!

[END TRANSMISSION]

This operation went well. We were able to retrieve the craft in pristine condition and without casualties. While not the most impressive victory we've had, its importance for morale right now can not be overstated.

Another month has passed, and we've received over half a million of additional funding per month, bringing the total to over seven million.

We've used some of this funding to begin reconstruction of Pacific Watch. This time, we're using an expedited construction plan to get personnel and equipment to the base as soon as possible for security.

We have also begun construction on a base in Central America in order to provide intercept capability to the Western hemisphere. This base should be online at approximately the same time as Pacific Watch.

After a difficult month, it appears things are finally starting to improve.

Those lines were more me, good job on everything.
Though I would've said something like...."Damn, missed that one......Just what the hell's that ship made of anyhow?"

Just make sure you keep me at Firstlight, Jungles and me don't mix, nor does the idea of being on an island out in the ocean.
Maybe when you get around to putting a base somewhere in Europe?
Preferably in Greece, or Italy.

The food from that region is so damn good...

Our research division has had their first success in a few weeks, and it's a fairly impressive one. They have managed to reverse-engineer the alien explosives. They appear to use a small Elerium core, which creates an antimatter detonation when set off by internal timing and triggering mechanisms. Their use is not significantly different from human-made grenades, apart from the explosive yield.

We can reproduce these grenades using our own Elerium stockpile. In addition, we have several of these recovered from field operations.

Radar spotted an alien craft above the Middle East.

Both interceptors were sent to try and shoot it down, but were forced to return to base due to severe damage.

Despite our best attempts, the craft landed in Ankara. Although our current tactical doctrine is to avoid night missions to reduce casualties, we have no choice here. Leaving the aliens unchecked in a major populated area will lead to mass civilian casualties and severe political consequences.

We have prepared our best available agents out of the few we have available for deployment. The utmost care will be required during this mission; we must balance the lives of our agents against protecting the civilian population.
