EoSD and PCB are the only windows games without talismans

Remilia Scarlet is the only Windows boss to not use any other color but red, except her opener, which uses blue 02s

Well, talismans got introduced in IN.

Butterflies got introduced in PCB.

Glowing droplets got introduced in MoF.

They all got used ever since.

Most of the glowing bullets like Kogasa second card in extra were introduced in StB.

PCB introduced arrowheads, butterflies, curvy lasers, music notes, and curved daggers.
IN introduced amulets, stars, literal bullets, oval pellets, inverted bullets, and additive blend fireballs.
PoFV introduced some more bullet types, but I don't think any of them carried over into the other games except Komachi's coins.
StB introduced the new additive blend fireballs.
MoF introduced tiny spinner bullets.
SA introduced explosions and hearts (not just Utsuho's explosions either, Orin, Satori-Alice and Suwako have used them as well)
UFO introduced droplets, umbrellas, brofists, anchors, runic lasers, curvy laser the revenge, and purple fire (many of these could be seen as familiars though)
DS introduced minipellets, and has additive blend versions of many other bullets, some of which are used instead of lasers for the spark attacks.

That's probably most-ish of them :V

Spell circles. Allow me to give you an example.

Here are the spell circles of twenty characters playable since Hisotensoku.

Can you guess which one is Meiling's spell circle? It's the bottom row of the middle column. It is a spiral of rainbow color. Why would she have this spell circle?
Rainbow is a type of dragon god (refer to DS 3-5). China has a character "dragon" "(龍) on her hat. She uses rainbow danmaku, and often makes names of her special moves and spell cards belated to dragon.

If we can accept her manipulation of Qi ~ use the power of the dragon god, we establish the fact that China is a symbolism of the dragon, the highest diety of Gensokyo. This is reflected upon the fact that her Vs. fight dialog with Sakuya and Remilia. I remember in one of the doujin I read, China is actually the dragon itself.

Lots of other interesting things can be found through analyzing the character's spell cards.

May I add for an extra food for thought that Remilia is the mistress of people whose abilities are natural weakness to the vampire?

That's Tenshi. Interestingly, the sequence of colors is reversed in comparison to Meiling.

You know, I am a little confused that Sakuya didn't get clock imagery in her circle somewhere.
Also, even though the majority of circles are obvious, I am not sure which one is Suika's...

Touhou 12.3.

The circles of the characters that appear in the 12.3 story mode can be seen during the credits roll. I am not sure where you can see the other ones, though. Possibly during a spell declare, I would have to check...

Ah, they appear in the background if you select a character in vs. mode.

I just noticed that the red one with eyes is Remilia's, and the bright red one without eyes is Reisen's. I would've suspected it would be the other way round...

Thank you! I looked at the spell card declarations too as it seemed the most obvious place, but there was nothing there... and it's amazing just how detailed those circles are when they're only seen once in game, and it's hard to make out the details then (or you just miss them, if you're half blind like me).

Embodiment of Scarlet Devil had the Stage 4 boss (Patchouli) as the EX-midboss.
Perfect Cherry Blossom has the Stage 2 boss (Chen) as the EX-midboss.
Imperishable Night had the Stage 3 boss (Keine) as the EX-midboss.
Mountain of Faith has the Stage 6 boss (Kanako) as the EX-midboss.
Subterranean Animism had the Stage 5 boss of the previous game (Sanae) as the EX-midboss.
Undefined Fantastic Object had the Stage 2 boss (Kogasa) as the EX-midboss.

We need the Stage 1 boss of a future game to come back as the EX-midboss.

Actually, that's Suika's. Sakuya's the fifith column on the first row.

The only one that, for me, Doesn't fit is Youmu's (First of the second row)

Sakuya's red circle must have something to do with that red magic thing she had on her clothes on EoSD?
