Not that it will stop Strafe from spawning one in the multiplayer world one day
Yep, he would. :V

Better yet, put a few dragon spawners around, especially in the planned sphere world. Have to keep the game from becoming too easy!
No. No. No. No. and No. I know my limits, and I do not wish to cross that line. Notch would have to tremendously nerf them before I even THINK of spawning them in the main world.

The only way that I would spawn a dragon is if it was in a controlled realm completely separate from the main world. Anarchy Sphere World, for example. Perhaps even the Nether..

Some of us plan to use the Nether for various things, so I wouldn't do the latter.

BUT, Anarchy Sphere Enderdragon madness? OH YES

The world came to a sudden end after a dozen Ender Dragons were spawned by Strafe...

I hope this won't happen :D

It is not.
Notch said the Enderdragon could destroy "everything" (even Bedrock?).

I can't seem to notice anything new in this pre-release, I'll have to read the changelog.
However, I found a pretty interesting abandoned mineshaft, lots of iron ores, gold ores, and even diamond ores.

On another note, did anyone else notice the huge fps drop compared to 1.7.3? I think it's even worse than 1.8 is... time to change my laptop

I heard not even adminium can stop it. Well, heard it. Not sure. Enderdrakes are not meant to appear in the overworld, as we all know. Who knows how The End looks like...

Yeah the fps is much worse now but they'll probably fix that during their optimization time period.

So it seems not too much has been changed as of now.  Also, I still can't find the villages  :V  I swear they have to be hiding or something.

The new realm is called "The End", and is not finished yet.

The new Splash Potion created with gunpowder are grenades.

Yeah, it's getting quite ridiculous. Java's been taking up 700MB on start and increasing with every update and pre-release ever since 1.8.

grenades.

Oh god. I am going to burn everything, all of Herobrine's precious Minecraftia, to the ground. It's not about building anymore, and Notch seems to want things to go that way. Nades? Creepers and Endermen just f*cked with the wrong Steve.

At this point I am seriously considering starting a new world on hardcore mode (because I just don't give a s...) come 1.9 release just for the sake of devastation, and see how far I can get and how much the landscape near the spawn area deteriorates and becomes demolished by explosions caused as a side effect of my fight against Herobrine's pawns.
Well, I'd gladly watch someone else do it on YouTube. Means I can very well do it myself if no one's doing that yet, right?

Also: dispenser. A 1-clock. A handful of grenades loaded into it. Some enemy mobs trapped in a ditch. Is it messed up that I become excided at the mere thought of doing that? There's no kill like overkill indeed.

Oh. About the villagers. I'd say they can live. So long as they remain always passive. (You know, going postal for fun, you'd want to seek a fight with someone who fights back.) Unless their small village just happens to be nearby when I wreak havoc. In this case, all I can say is they're out of luck. It will become part of the battlefield.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one that will continue calling "the end" the ender because "the end" sounds stupid.

I never really got what the "ender" thing means anyway. To me, it sounds like a taunt. Cause, you know, an enderman, the man who ends... Who do they end? Me? Look at my hand. What's in my hand? It's a diamond sword. Look away. Now look back. Your enderman is now  a nice pile of pitch-black gibs. Anything is possible when the very meaning of your very existence is to freak out and scare away players. I'm on a mob grinder.

And The End sounds like the ultimate taunt. Or the journey's end. Either way, the name of this place just screams "kick me!" to me. I shall end The End when I'm done with the overworld. Here's to hoping the enderdrake actually puts up a fight. Because all other mobs are pushovers right now.

Oh yes, I will sooo make the Enderpeople wish Notch had yielded to the fanbase and renamed them to farlanders.

Honestly I think the Ender sounds more stupid than the End. It's like broker. It's just wrong.
The End, while unoriginal, doesn't sound logically stupid. So yeah, it's The End for me.

Meh I thought farlander was just thrown out there. Endermen least give props to the slenderman which the mob is based on.
Besides can't have  farlander and creeper. Too many 'er' ending mobs.

Guess you're right. The "farlander" thing came from, if memory serves, Notch failing to make some lore behind endermen, and stating that they came from the far lands (which, if you're not familiar with them, are the mythical lands approximately two and a half to five times Earth's diameter away from the center of the map.

Or, uh, thirty something million blocks away from the center. I really don't remember.

So, at that point the game just fails to generate any more chunks. The light fails to work and the areas are pitch-black, and the dropped items have serious troble to update in regards to players' position, whatever that means.

Oh, and the far lands got supposedly fixed. That means more or less that the terrain generation of the chunks past the boundary is pretty much fine as always. However other funny phenomena still ocur.

Just go there and see the screenshots to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
Yeah, it's supposedly the past. The freaky landscapes are gone.

A question to everyone getting excited about grenades: will there be explosive grenades?
As of now, what I understood is that any potion could be thrown when turned into a grenade, and its effect would spread over several blocks, but if there is no explosive potion, then no hand grenade, right?
Well, there are some poison potions that could be used for that, though.
