Haha, neat shrine. I think Jes built his own and posted it on the MC server thread. Also impressive.

Holding out on 1.7 until the server is updated as well.

They postponed the Adventure Update to 1.8 because it's too huge, they didn't wanted to wait more than a month to release the Pistons when those were already done with it.

Also, from what I get, it's not a separate Adventure Mode, but an Adventure Update, aka no new modes, but refining the core gameplay.

What, no, mine was terrible. Wasn't even a shrine. Just that red thing that I don't know the name of. And you posted that.

So yeah, pistons. Time to make some hidden stuff that I may or may not make apparent to others.

He doesn't specify exactly, but it seems like it will be a separate mode. Otherwise, why would he phrase it like that and make the different modes in the same version as the adventure update?

Also, pistons are pretty sweet. I managed to make a perfectly hidden (flush with the ground) 2 block wide collapsible stairway. I'll probably actually post a video of it, even though I usually don't do Minecraft videos. I think it came out perfectly and it looks really cool.
By the way, "redstone/fire necessary to activate TNT" is a good thing - no more ruining everything if you misclick while loading a cannon. Just carry around flint and steel with you, it's a single inventory space.

The Aether. The videos an hour long, sure, But god damn the Aether looks like it has potential to become the next big minecraft mod. Hell, If Notch could, He would most likely implement this in the game. Just watch the video to see how amazing it is.

I've just started wondering, how do you revert to an earlier version? 1.7 obvously broke both BTW and HD textures so I feel like reverting until they're updated.

now you need an item to get wool from sheep
Good.

Btw, am I the only one sticking to 1.6.5 to this day?

You don't really need the shears to get wool, as you still get one piece of wool whenever you kill a sheep. The shears allow you to get 2-4 pieces per sheep. I'm not sure if the wool grows back yet.. Yes, it's annoying, but it allows a more reliable way to get multiple pieces of wool.

Regarding pistons: I was messing around with them, and found that a single piston can push a row of up to 12 blocks at the same time. Sticky piston can only pull one back, obviously. I'm definitely liking that they can regulate the flow of both water and lava. Now to emulate the hidden base entrance from the promo video.... That is going to take a little more complicated redstone setup than I originally thought.

And I'm fine with the new TNT safeguards. It was too easy to detonate that crap anyway.

Seems like it. I'm staying with 1.6.6 for now.

Don't mind the shears at all, pistons will be fun to play with, and the new TNT detonation method is welcomed greatly.

Holding off on 1.7_whatevernumber until my mods are updated.

Probably going to hold off on MC altogether until the Adventure Update is out...

...which, knowing the Notch-ist method of coding, will not be in playable form until v2.9876543. It'll be released much earlier than that but be full of bugs (especially in SMP), which Notch won't bother fixing since he'll be busy adding in sky world, cheese-crafting recipes, silver, oil deposits, and Lua script support, among other things, each with their own bumper crop of bugs.

Post a reaction image depicting your face when you realize that a large portion of the Adventure Update includes the Aether in its entirety?

Six hours later, I finally remember to hit "Post."

Oh boy, is this the same Aether Collab mod three people were working on, KingBDogz, Kodaichi and Shockah ?

Edit: HOLY SHIT it is! Haven't heard from then since they closed their main thread!

"Official" OST out.
I'd HIGHLY recommend getting it in FLAC, and then using Audacity or another audio conversion program to batch convert to MP3, M4A/AAC, what have you. Lossless is best.

Now I have a legitimate reason to kill Ghasts. :V Bonus points if you could somehow replace the sounds with yukkuri ones.

Yukkuri Reimu ghasts. I never thought that one could make the ghasts even more frightening than they already are.

Im glad people like them. I only need more ideas on things to replace with other things( which basically means: gief suggestions) and to get better at making them. Also, does anyone know how to change the colors of the leaves? Since in the terrain.png they are gray while in-game they are green. I want to make 'em pink, you see.

They're in a separate file that determines biome colours.

Look for "foliagecolor.png" inside the Misc folder of your texture pack. It handles the color of the leaves.

Looking good. The leaves could be a little brighter though. They look more purple to me.

As far as suggestions go...
-Okuu/Mystia chickens
-Eirin skeleton archers
-Touhou themed paintings
-Armor styled after character's outfits (good luck on this one)
-Weapons styled after character's items. ie: Mima's staff or Reimu's gohei
-perhaps Yukkuri slimes instead of ghasts. Slimes come in different sizes!
Spoiler:
and go *splat* too

Now the blocks are a different story. If you try to "Touhou-ify" the blocks based on Minecraft's standards, you'll run out of ideas quick. If you want to change many of these blocks, you'd be better off creating your own "feel" for the world. Think the Legend of Zelda texture pack. Each block was stylized after it's Zelda counterpart. It felt like you're really in a Zelda game.
You could also just change blocks to suit your whims..(ie: one texture pack changed the colored wool to have more complicated patterns - such as a tiled floor, a woven rug, or even an electrical box)

It's really up to you how much you want to "change" the world.

About those suggestions, i have been thinking about making mystia chickens (along with making Yamame spiders somehow) bbut my only problem is that the default textures confuse me as hell, i can't really see what is what.
And about the weapons, did you look at the first picture? It's ( supposed to be ) Reimu's gohei ( although it's crappy ). And another thing, the paintings. I won't be able to draw them myself (since i have zero artistic talent) so if anyone finds a good picture / can draw, let me know or something.

And another thing. When changing the blocks i could try to find pictures of the background from the games and try to copy them as best as i can.
