I feel your pain.

For the billionth time, what are all of those numbers?
At least you didn't clip 3 times in a row with all your bombs on stage 4 because you wanted to graze.
WTF you bombed 11 times more than me O_o
Hey it's Lunatic for you, not the same thing, at all LLS Hard = PCB Normal

I got one that tops both of those.

Stage 6 Yuka was exploding, fffff- (I've gotten revenge on her since that, though)

And the 3 below your score are, in order; Deaths, Bombs, Completion Percentage

The others I don't remember, but there is a topic around here explaining them. Stuff like % of time focused, % of items collected, % slowdown (I think that Slowdown is last before that spaced out %age thing)

I did 99.99% with RAN once !
It is the most frustrating thing I my touhou experience...
Anyway, Stage 4 is bad...very very bad...
But LLS is funny, the familiars are harder to dodge than the danmaku.

Thank god if you bomb that, the 2 stage 4 midbosses are easy as hell.

But if you want to actually do it/have no bombs, use Reimu's hair bow as your hitbox. Its almost exactly the same size/spot as your hitbox in PC-98, right?

This.

After the initial excitement of completing the UFO Easy run it boils down to nitpicking again.  Damn it, why did I destroy the blue UFO in stage four so early?  Why didn't I practice Hawk's techniques for that stage?  Why didn't I graze out Shou's lasers?  Unzan's eye, too, so much graze lost.

I die on Elly, die again as she clears.  Getting into stage 4 4/3, personal best.  This has been a great run so far.

DIE TWICE WITH TWO BOMBS IN STOCK

MARISA SITS HALFWAY DOWN THE SCREEN THE ENTIRE TIME

DIE TWICE ON STAGE 5, WAY BEFORE THE CIRCLES

Apparently my PCB folder is corrupted. Apparently so are the WAV files for PCB. Apparently so is my score data for PCB. Apparently I'm going to have to reinstall the game. Apparently I'm going to have to unlock Extra for all the characters again... Goddammit, laptop. Atleast the replays still work, I hope.

Also game over'd during Shinki's last phase.
Yup, still lurking.

If you want, I have a score.DAT that has Extra unlocked for all characters and almost every stage on all difficulties (no SakuyaB Stage 6 Lunatic, and no Marisa Lunatic at all in stage practice, though).

Also, today I tried PCB Extra after not playing it for about a month. I picked ReimuB by accident, decided "eh i'll stick with it, let's do no-focus just for fun."

I proceeded to get through the entire Extra stage without a single death, and only two bombs (one on Kokuri-san's Contract and another on one of her midspells).
Then I lost all six lives on Ran's last spellcard.

Holy shit what, I usually capture that card.

2 CC'd PCB Normal with Marisa A
2 CC'd EoSD Normal with Marisa A

I never finished a game with Marisa, and this was actually the first time i seriously attempted playing as her.

But it's damn frustrating to Game Over on the last spell card in two different games and have to settle for a 2CC =(
Current Goal: PCB Lunatic 1cc

FFFFFFFFFFF

After most of what was my best scoring attempt at EoSD yet by quite a lot, I die to the end of Q.E.D., predictably enough. Grr... having to beat Flan on two lives is pretty harsh, especially seeing as I've convinced myself that I can capture everything consistently and as such don't bomb on any of her cards. <_< That would have been at least 350-360 million... damnit. To be honest the death at Q.E.D. was fair enough, but what annoys me more is that I also died on Catadioptric, which I can capture consistently.

...On all these runs so far it's always been Q.E.D. and one other completely random card I mess up. :V

Actually, PC 98 Deathbomb times are longer then the PC ones(barring INs stupidly long times). It's just that there's no death sound.

The basic pattern to Catadioptric is three quarters of the way to the right of the screen, all the way to the right, three quarters of the way, all the way, etc, so that you avoid most of the big clusters. Other than that, the most important thing is to be looking at the huge-hitbox'd fat bullets as early as you possibly can; most of my deaths to Catadioptric are clipdeaths from a big bullet that was off to the side of the cluster. Finally, there are a load of really slow small bullets that will stay there to annoy you from previous waves, so, err, watch out for those, I guess. :V Here's a video of a capture; at 4:04 there's one of the nasty outlying fat bullets which will get you killed, so pay attention to those as your top priority.

And my scoreruns so far are with MarisaB; I don't really have any particular preference, but I'm participating in the tournament thingybob which forces MarisaB, so yeah. At any rate, Master Spark is very useful for collecting a load of point items you'd have no chance at otherwise, so I'd probably end up sticking with this shot type.
Let's fight.

PoDD lunatic is evil. EEEEVIL. As in, I'm lucky if I make it past stage two and even that is requiring some supernatural spazzing.

Then again I didn't give it more than half a dozen tries, but repeatedly getting crushed so badly isn't exactly motivating.

20 attempts at EoSD Extra tonight.  Out of those 20 attempts: I got to Flandre 0 times.  I got to Patchy 5 times.  I Game Overed to Royal Flare 3 times.  I Game Overed to Selene 2 times.  I died on the first part 15 times.

I'm not exactly sure why I failed so bad.

Tip: The first two parts are streaming. It should be easy to survive those if you're careful (...As in, to the point that it's tough to get power items =/ ) and then you can probably just bomb the rest of everything before Patchouli if you fail it that badly. And yeah, Riyal Flare is utter hell, while Silent Selene is pretty nasty too... Then so is Philosopher's Stone if you get to it. Overall though, it shouldn't be at all difficult to at least get past Patchouli if you actually bomb.

When scoring goes wrong...  :V

...you can lose up to about 20% of your theoretical score within seconds.

Stupid sneezing. Stupid me forgetting when and where to bomb. Stupid me for not being practiced enough at supergrazing, etc.

However, UFO is more or less lenient on that kind of thing. But there's only a limit that I'll take before actually forfeiting.

And my Point Item Value should be somewhere in the high 50k's or 60k's...

Should probably supergraze.

Nue's survival card is giving me fits. It's ALL EASY until the last three seconds, when it turns into animated bullet hitbox nonsense.

4...3...2...1..death...zero.

I know it's streaming.  It's just stupid, stupid clipdeaths.  To the most random bullets ever.  Hell, the only death that wasn't a stupid death was to the fairy right before Patchy, but that was only to figure out how to dodge it properly...  :(
Silent Selene is actually fairly easy once you realize that you don't need to follow Patchy everywhere to capture it before the time out.  Royal Flare is easy now that I know how to do it.  Philosopher's Stone is just painful though.  I think it's pretty much an autobomb for me.

Seventh PoFV lunatic 1cc in a row to fail to save the replay: Mystia (four times already), Cirno, and now for the second time with Marisa.

I really, really want to get one good replay for youtube, and the Reimu 1cc which the PoFV bug spared simply isn't nearly good enough. Oh well, at least I like PoFV a lot.

edit: yet another mystia replay lost. I guess it's time I stopped trying.

It works like Danmaku Chimera. It made sense after watching my replay like 20 times.
There is only 1 gap per wall IIRC, so just go for example left, then up, then left, then up again :V

Probably one of the easiest survivals.
