Touhou Accomplishments - Unlucky 13th?

I'm very worried about getting Marisa's unlocked, considering how long it's taken me to 1cc Hard on other games in the past. And with Reimu Solo, one of the weakest shot types. Remilia's will probably come next since I have more Last Spells to capture now I've played through Lunatic.

I had to unlock that card by starting with more starting lives :<

You didn't see it as cruise control to begin with? It's not that difficult to dodge through a wall. (Namely one that could fit three and a half Reimu hitboxes/two Marisa hitboxes in those gaps.

It means you're close. Think of it this way: starting with max lives means you have 14 lives to work with instead of 10.

Prism Flash: Place yourself around 2/3 of the screen and uh, pray that the gaps line up nicely enough. Don't even bother
Diamond Ring is also luck-dependent. I guess you could read the bubble ring, see how much it offsets from the fireball ring, and determine a gap that goes through both.
Blue Deflection: Tight as hell. What is Cave-style misdirection ?

Triple Meteor is pretty possible to both capture and timeout. Streaming slowly at the corners should keep the screen relatively clear.

By quickly moving to the edge of the screen while also moving a bit up. What you do when you are phased with more trickily aimed stuff. Its a technique that I often find useful in stuff like Mushi Futari with those fast aimed shots on Original. Its different to Touhou where its usually enough just to dash a bit to the side and turn the stream that way. But you should now all this stuff really.

Ah, you mean making dat upward flick at the end of a stream ? I use it a lot in DOJ too, but I'm not sure if it's something exclusive to Cave games. Good luck with it though.

Actually did something, it's been awhile.

Shoot the Bullet Ultra
What I had before:
Level 1-5 complete
Level 6 everything except for Youmu's first (6-5 was annoying... hey guess what guys, remember when we talked about how Mamizou's overdrive was special for having bullets from two directions? Have them from 4 directions then! Replay doesn't even look like something, just me having luck [... I admit: that was my general strategy...])
Level 8-3 (loved the original, didn't live up to it though)
NEW:
- 7-5 (easier than the original, the path of the knives was easier to read), 7-6
- 8-8
- 9-3, 9-4, 9-5 (good to see that they kept true to the StB-Spirit: weird difficulty curves, ya gotta love them)
- 10-1 (wasn't too different; everything else on this level except for maybe 10-8 is ridiculous though)

52 scenes complete - 10 (silly me) 14 more to go - maybe I'll at least get to see the ultra-version of the extra scenes (since beating them is out of question for me). But... by now I've gotten rid of most of the easier stuff: the last 10 will be painful.

Kinkaku-Ji Ultra, someday... I've got a replay with your name on it, someday I'll beat you (... maybe)!

I have just done it. I have just done the unthinkable.

I HAVE PERFECTED AN EXTRA STAGE. And I'm still shaking.

So many places where the run could have been ruined, but everything just worked. Even when I was watching my own replay it still didn't sink in until the last card that I had just perfected an Extra Stage.

And when it did sink in? Tears. Of pure joy. I am not even kidding. And fuck I'm getting choked up again.

Perfect "stage portion" of SA stage 3. (which makes no-deathing Yugi very reasonable)
Also no-deaths stage 4.
Both at 90fps in practice mode, but I think the stage 3 strategy will work regardless of starting power.
The pieces are gradually falling into place. Before the weekend is through, I hope to have this 1cc.

A little background here to explain my relative absence this past month, and the point of the replays below.

A few of you from #Ijiyatsu have heard parts of this story by now, but back in mid-December my hard drive started malfunctioning, and of course the computer as a whole became inoperable. The warranty for repairs comes from a place in NJ, so I sent it in to their tech guys over break. Naturally the repairs took much longer than the amount of time I was staying in NJ (visiting my parents for the holiday), and I needed to have this mailed back to me. When the repairs were finished, I learned that the HDD was completely fried, and I lost all my stuff (no backups, very stupidly ). After having no access to the games for so long, and having to reinstall them, I decided I'd go through all the modes again (for the games I still play, that is) to help get my skills back on track. Here's what I have so far:

PCB Lunatic 1cc, Extra clear, and Phantasm clear.

IN Lunatic 1cc and Extra clear.

The rustiness, the rustiness. :V
