Mamizou defeated (took way longer than it should be - I had most of the spells down pat, but I kept on dying two or three times on something). That's the last extra boss on the windows series.

Come to think of it, I beat my first extra boss on Christmas too two years ago. Christmas must be good for Touhou for me.

derp Stage 3 when I meant to activate trance but I didn't see a bullet hit me, perfect Yoshika

perfect Stage 5 (didn't trance the end of stage)
perfect Stage 6 until the final transition of the final spell card when I died with full trance because hey why not go for all bosses perfect in the same run since I don't have a NDNB run to protect

Considering I never used trance for survival it's essentially the same run without the derp as it was because I was watching a life piece fade to time my trance better, and thus a 1DNB run would have been what I had, so I really don't see a point to NBNT.

And since you start with one trance gauge full you need to do it without ever dying.  :V

I don't feel like grinding out a perfect at all at the moment, Suwako took a lot out of me in terms of perfecting.

So I went and uploaded that perfect Miko run I mentioned earlier, but also a no-bombs Normal 1CC. Looking at it, NDNB (but with trance) seems pretty doable.

Just tried another VoWG capture, and failed.
So after I died I went to try to time out the rest.
Best string was dodging everything from 68 seconds left to 35 seconds left.
I can totally capture this thing.

Good to know I haven't atrophied completely.

Random run of Flansocks.  Capped Royal Flare, Laevateinn, Four of a Kind, Kagome, Kagome, Maze of Love and Counter Clock.  Actually ran the maze for the first time ever!  Finished 1/3, including two deaths with full bombs on ATWTBN and QED.  Surprisingly good!

Captured Embers of Love on my 3rd try (And at 2 power!), and did pretty well on Genetics (1 bomb).

Then proceeded to get owned by the 2nd and 3rd phases of Philosophy of a Hated Person...

I'll get used to this spell...

EDIT: Had a half-awesome-half-fail run on EoSD Extra just now. On the bright side, captured Royal Flare, Cranberry Trap (Speedkill makes this so much easier), Maze of Love, and some others while getting my first capture of Catadioptric. Counter Clock is also a lot better now, as is Starbow Break and ATTWBN (which I still died to). On the fail side, I DIED TWICE to LAVATEIN (And once to Four of a Kind).

EDIT2: SCREW ALL OF THAT. I BEAT FLANDRE! (7 spellcard bonuses too, though I really should bomb more)

Two extra clears two days in a row! And that just leaves Koishi and Mamizou

This is what you meant right? I pacified the stage portion on Normal. It was pretty wild, I have to say, and fun too. Didn't try Hard or Lunatic yet. Switching from lasers to fairies wasn't too bad, but the raw fairy swarm after that is a little, uh, dense.

So I decided to try this.
fairies-->lasers completed once
all lasers completed twice
lasers-->fairies done once
end fairies-->reversed the swarm of bullets successfully once
perfect pacifist Stage 6 is possible, I'm debating if TASing it is worth the time.

EDIT: attempt 3 tries failing to the dense part and one to the lasers, I'm taking a break from TASing this.  I'm going to get it though.

I only bothered pacifying the kunai part. The rest is too boring, though I did do some TAS stupidity on Kyouku's last card as well.

I survived that Kunai Hell until the bomb fragment fairies came along and shot me back in the trial version, but maybe it was easier then? Tried just now and only the part when they come from both sides is really hard, I don't think you should need to TAS this.

On Lunatic? I nearly failed at 15 fps (though on the other hand, it took only one try). If you think you can do it without TAS then go for it, but I certainly don't see myself pulling it off, unless there's some trick like misdirection or something that I'm not seeing. I'll give it another try anyway. Yeah, I can't do it.

I tried a bunch of stuff pacifist yesterday without TAS then tried TASing it.  I was able to dodge the kunai until the dense part once, and I could do the dense part at 15 FPS except I didn't want to grind the stage (because I already had been grinding the extra stage for the red rings of death)

Also, I got a full trance in spell practice.  You still can't use it though.

and I captured Miko's Overdrive no horizontal.  (First with TAS, then I really 'wow that was beyond trivial' and did it at 60 FPS)

EDIT:watched the replay, and that is why you are better than me, even with TAS.  Either that or the RNG kept screwing me over, but probably both.  The replay crashed the game too due to how epic it was.

I suppose I can reach Yumemi in PoDD pretty consistently now, though I always seem to do myself in right before victory. I'm putting this here instead of the rage thread because this actually feels like an accomplishment. When I started I could barely even reach the decisive match.

So I decided to use TD Spell Practice to brush up on the cards that were really costing me runs against Mamizou, Tanuki's Monstrous School and Wild Deserted Island.

I attempted Wild Deserted Island and...captured it on my first try.

Then I attempted Tanuki's Monstrous School and...captured it on my first try. How about that.

Anyway, time to go and practice some more so I can turn a pair of 1/1 into something like 2/30.
