Well I captured QED for the first time. Also cleared Imperishable Night on Lunatic for the first time. I didn't even try to capture Hourai Jewel. I just spent resources until it ended. It's amazing how that spell does that to me.

I tried out TD Extra No Horizontal, and it occured to me that Mamizou (apart from her non-spells) is like made for no horizontal. I think it might be possible to if not beat the stage at least get pretty far. I got to fourth non-spell, but that was with spending way too much resources on the stage, which (apart from Nue) can be NDNB as far as I can tell.

I think there are a few spells later than would be near impossible, and the survival would be death on a pogo-stick. With trance and all though... maybe.

The last spell is impossible no horizontal, and so is the last nonspell (2 bombs) and Shrine Maiden (1B1T), forcing a capture of the survival to have still no trance for the final spell. This doesn't exactly seem feasible if you think about the end.

Do you have a replay of you reaching Shrine Maiden no horizontal? The final spell can be probably be brought to the final phase I think, but yeah, probably impossible to beat.

No, but from normal runs with Reimu I know the final nonspell takes 2 bombs if you bombspam it, and for Shrine Maiden that was a guess, it would probably take more than that but I don't know.

Well, almost just cleared LLS extra on my second ever attempt at it. Got to the phase with the pellet walls and the bouncing 'metal' bullets.
Perfect orb midboss, some 290 million score. I can conceivably clear this stage.

It certainly feels like I'm getting better at some parts of Eirin. Had another attempt where I captured Omoikane's Brain and Apollo 13 in the same run, plus a Hourai Elixir capture, which is always nice. I've also been having trouble with Game of Rising lately, strange as it may seem, so capturing that too is restoring a bit of confidence (along with me switching back to Border Team instead of using Youmu).

Oh man, this is beyond frustrating. And a unique kind of frustration that I haven't feel before but its something that I was able to calm down from surprisingly fast. Wait, I actually know this feeling. Its incredibly familiar to back when I lost my No-bombs attempt ((the run was a 1-miss only up to the Stage 5 boss). in MoF because Sanae had to be a douche and kill me five times. However the fuck that happened.

Today as I wanted to unlock Stage 6 with SanaeA, which i apparently hadn't done, i made it to Byakuren with 6 lives without using continues. And I still lost the run by dying three times with bombs in stock to LFO. Man... i hate overconfidence. It never wins.

But as with that failed no-bombs attempt I put it here since I still consider it an accomplishment that I was able to get to Byakuren with 6 lives. As far as I'm concerned, its better than my first two 1cc's of this game.

It's been a little while since I've posted something, so goes a little something.

I've unlocked the Extra Stage on Great Fairy Wars. I'm happy even though I used Easy Mode to do that. It seems fairly tricky to me no matter how I look at it, though. :derp:

This Extra looks like it'll take quite a lot of practice to get anywhere. :ohdear:

That's true, but once you've learned it there's almost no dodging involved. Just freeze things at the right time.

So I manage to beat Flandre in less than 10 attempts (here defining an "attempt" as "getting as far as Flandre", though, since I restart a lot.)

And on this run where I pull it off, how many spell card bonuses do I acquire? ONE. And I finish three bombs to spare. And that's despite bombing one of Flandre's nonspells.

Why is Flandre considered a hard EX boss, again? Mamizou and Koishi were much harder. And don't even get me started on Nue.

Wow damn, I still haven't beaten her after many more tries. Probably due to wasted bombs.

I agree that Koishi and Mamizou are definitely harder. But Nue? Nue's probably the easiest boss if not for the stage and midboss.

And Flandre gives really few resources

Yeah, Nue's the only Ex Boss I've managed to perfect so far, so she's pretty easy I'd say. (Though Mokou and Suwako are easier.) It doesn't stop her from being the most fun though.
On a related note, just managed a 3 death run of Fairy Wars extra. If I had bombed intelligently, it could've been no deaths. Much better than my original though, which had over 10 or something.

A Subterranean Animism 90 FPS normal 1cc. I've been trying it for weeks (actually, on and off for months), and now, with no warm-up, no practice, no nothing other than open game and go for it because hey, VPatch says 90 FPS, and I got it.

I've only played two Extra stages but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Ran as being easy. Well, apart from Unilateral Contract and her survival. And possibly her final card. But I can just beat her all the time while with Flandre I've only defeated her like 5 times since I first unlocked the stage which was...like 7 months ago? Freaking stage.
Anyway I managed to unlock Yukari again after having to re-install PCB (screwed some of the stuff up in the folder, this proves I suck at computers) and I think I've managed to work out the safespot for BoLaD. Maybe. I'll need some practice on this one.

More TD extra no horizontal, reached non-spell after frolicking animals after using the maxed trance to clear that card, 3 pieces way from another extend and generally wasting a ton of resources due to not being chill enough. Captured amphibian danmaku but tranced the carnivorous danmaku card.

That was much easier than I anticipated; Devil's Recitation was the only thing standing in my way. Just three more bosses to go! I think I'll aim to perfect EX Alice by the end of the year, leaving only Mamizou and Byakuren left.

Ran is quite easy, but I found Yukari even easier (in fact she's the easiest bonus boss for me). Unilateral Contact can be trivialized if you move to where the crystal bullets are moving almost vertically. Her survival just requires a lot of focus (which I don't have because IT'S SO SLOW). Her final attack also has a safe spot similar to Border of Life and Death.

For the Border of Life and Death safespot, minimizing your movement near the beginning will make the safespot more apparent.

I have to ask... are you counting the HRtP bosses in this list? I'm not saying you should if you aren't, but I'm wondering if you've actually perfected those things.
Anyway good luck with Alice. I think she's the hardest Ex boss.

Picked up GFW again after ragequitting it several months ago. Managed to 1CC the regular game on Normal, clear the stage portion of the Extra Stage without dying, and made it to Marisa's 6th spell card, for the first time, before biting the dust.

Why did I ragequit it all those months ago? Cuz back then, I couldn't even come close to taking down Marisa, the last Windows Extra Boss I have yet to conquer, to save my life. But now, I think my body is ready....

I wouldn't group them together, since my aim is to perfect every boss in the standard shmups (discounting Fairy Wars too), but, in fact, I've done them anyway.

I even have all of them perfected on camera and in video form on my channel. For example!

Two bosses left...I'm torn between feeling giddy that my ultimate goal of the series is so close at hand, and horrified that now I have to turn my attention to Mamizou and especially Byakuren. Byakuren is truly me saving the worst for last. T_T I only hope I can resist throwing away my entire winter break into this ordeal.
