One of my friends insists that I play Touhou well because of memorization, even if they see something that is obviously random.

Even random cards get a lot easier when you know what to expect of it.

Does anyone know any examples of a game that DOESN'T need memorization to play well?

Acoustic test. You put on a headset and then, in random intervals, get a noise on either the left or the right side. You have to press the correct respective button in as little time as possible.

Other than that, well...

Only, that's not a game *facepalm*

This question usually brings on the flood - how much memorization is involved or needed in Touhou has caused endless, pointless, facepalm-inducing arguments in the past.

Here's hoping that doesn't happen in this thread.

Well, this means it would technically be on topic, wouldn't it?  :yukkuri:

Still not a good idea, though.  :derp:

Russian roulette. :ohdear:

That made me facepalm. In a good way, while chuckling.
See, it's kind of like how negative numbers are still numbers, despite being the complete opposite of normal numbers.

Topics getting off-topic so fast/easily. Since 99% of my communication is computer-related, I consider that 'talking', yes.
Not in a bad way like some of the things earlier, it's kind of funny, but also facepalm worthy because of, well, yeah.

On otherforumhere someone just said on my Touhou topic:
Quote
I'm just going to come out and say it,
No one gives a shit about your Touhou shit.
(After like 5 other posters asking me questions and giving comments on it.)
I then proceeded to link him to a few members lists on a few forums, totaling over maybe.... 100,000 registered users or so? I remember one was 30 per page with over 3,000 pages. Took me a while. >_<
Then I did a paragraph or so on how the Touhou fanbase was larger than X, Y, and Z combined, and more popular than whatever music or games you like.
Then I told him how it's also full of weeaboos who will flame him to death on comments like that. (I said I was somewhat less likely to do so. >_>) (And theeen put "Trolololo... >_<" in the shoutbox.)  [/ontopic]

Pffffffff- XD
One of my friends, strangely enough named Alice, once said
"Oh, Touhou?  Is that that Marisa Stole the Precious Thing anime?"
I laughed, then explained it, but she still didn't completely understand.

Honestly, I don't have a clue Htf people come across those popular joeys, cool and create, whatever music videos without having any knowledge of touhou first! WTF do people even like hat stuff without knowing the characters anyway (not that I like em AFTER knowing the characters). Like how do they see mcrolled first? Do they voluntarily decide to try and rickroll themselves and bother checking related videos after (is it even considered related?). Do they try watching Ronald McDonald stuff (that's just creepy...). I don't get it.

Random encounters can go suck it. Thats how I first know about Touhou. Through the McRoll and others.  I'm a good example of a person who was influenced by the fandom first. And then starts spamming them :(
