Overalls != pants. They are more akin to trousers than anything else. Then again, the word pants can describe a variety of garments worn. I guess it really depends on what region you live in.

Despite being drawn as a boy, Mokou is one of the most feminine characters in my Touhouverse. But yes, she's tough and the trousers help her perform better kicks.

Wriggle technically beat her before that with shorts, and before her was classic Yuuka and before her was Orange. Meira may or may not have also worn pants.

Edit: And before Wriggle and Mokou but after Yuuka/Orange/Meira Yuyuko and Meiling were wearing pants in IaMP.

I think about 70-90% of non-Japanese Touhou community don't know about PC-98. Even I who's seriously researching on Touhou, I barely touched them because the information from EoSD+ are already too much to handle. Also the lack of doujin on them is one big reason. (Hardly seen artwork for others than Mima, and heck, the best Shinki is made by fuantei. I wanna kill him.)

Generally ZUN has retconned most of the PC98 series aside from referencing them here and there. Yuuka and Reimu apparently having fought before (also mentioned in PMiSS), Reimu/Marisa and Alice having fought before, Shinkipatterns, Makai music sounding like other Makai music, Marisa keeping Orreries Sun, Master/Dual Spark as a whole, etc. However, even though they're referenced, PC98 doesn't really add much to the canon that doesn't also exist later on.

Well, actually Suppa Tenko was some stupid meme that the people on 2ch came out with and has stuck on to Ran (Just because she was the poor victim of random AA nudity)
So it wouldn't be quite right to say that the spell card was the reason to her exhibitionist interpretation.
Since it's quite old, quite random, and since people -especially Ran fans- aren't quite fond of it, I think people are free to forget about thejoke.jpg

Something that appeared out of nowhere on the 45th Touhou thread. It immediately became popular, so popular that it became a template for the thread, and a manga was drawn for it. This instantaneously labeled Ran as an Exhibitionist.
Furthermore, this joke is far obsolete and if you use it now, you'll be looked upon weirdly.

It is strongly disliked by a certain handful of Ran believers.

Even though Ran is only a boss in two games and has never been a playable character, she's a fairly popular character and is often seen in fan comics partly because of her master Yukari, who is another popular character.
Ran is often depicted as Yukari's "voice of reason" in fan comics.

Apparently this page (images on page defunct; archived here) is where the "Suppatenko" (literally, "Naked Heaven-Fox") trend started. [NSFW; Not recommended for pure Ran fans.] Since then, in many fan works, she's been pictured as a flasher.
In many fanworks Ran is portrayed as highly-excessive nosebleeding whenever she sees Chen.

Honestly, a lot of the character pages could use a good clean-up. But that requires people who know a fair bit about the characters to put some effort into editing the pages...I normally wouldn't touch the fun facts/fandom section because I have no way of knowing which statements are "valid" and which ones are bull.

According to Ran's spellcard, "Princess Tenko", and the phrase on the first scene of EX stage of PCB, "A mysterious occurrence on the crossing to three countries", some fans of Ran think her as Tamamo no Mae, rather than White-faced Golden Fox of Nine Tails, or that being showed above.

To be honest, my personal feelings are that Touhou fandom in general puts far too much emphasis on memes, in-jokes and fan-created characterizations. The wiki in particular is over-saturated with meaningless trivia. While I do make heavy use of the wiki and find it extremely useful, the trivia sections have always been kinda pointless. Things like "fandom does this" and "fandom says that" doesn't really have much place in things like that. Personally, I think it would be better to create a separate page entirely for fandom-based trivia, but this is really all just me being pointlessly nitpicky.

What is infinitely more useful than the Fun Facts section is the section at the bottom which links to PMiSS and BAiJR articles. The character profiles are good to show progression and how they relate to a story, including finding info you might not otherwise notice.
