Hmm, well hyperventilation seems pretty good, but I'll wait for the rest of the guys to choose.

>Twelve Fin Slaps has a much easier time with the automatic fire attacks. She only blocks the attacks going for her eyes, while ignoring the rest.
"This shot type need no charge, yes? It not very good in grand scale of things. Can take out little fishes, but not much else. Don't think me can help you much with this - would need to start tweaking at whistle, and bad things happen if I break it."
She looks away, acting innocent. She's probably talking from experience here...

>"Airdashing!"
>"...Oooooh."
Twelve Fin Slaps widens her eyes, and puts a hand to her chin. She nods to herself, then looks upwards into the sky.
"Let me try something."
She brings herself upright, at a right angle to the surface, and closes her eyes again. You see her tap her feet together before she bursts upwards into the air, making an impressive splash on the way out. She returns a few seconds later, dashing back into the water with impressive speed.
"Yeah, me think Blinking Tide can be tweaked a little for that! Can't move so far as in water, though.

Ability Updated.
Blinking Tide:
- (Water) Cross fifty feet in the space of 1 second. 50 OP/charge
- (Air) Cross twenty feet in the space of 1 second. 60 OP/charge

>"How about something of a quick close range attack, like making a jet of air in a short burst, like a spear of air to use at our opponents gills?"
>Twelve Fin Slaps ponders.
"Making jet hard, but me can do this."
She takes the flute from you for a moment, and puffs it up with one breath. Releasing it, the bubbles don't come out as they should - instead they come together to form a transparent but brilliantly sharp edge. Twelve Fin Slaps swings it around to make the point - it lets out a trail of bubbles, and the edge wears away after a few swipes.
"This will do? Swing it at fish and his gills no like, but swing it into his chest and he like it even less!"

Ability: Bubble Blade - Turn your whistle into a close-range melee weapon. can be used both for straight damage and to choke a water-breathing opponent. Must be recast after 5 swings. - Requires 30% Whistle Charge

So guys, What do you think? Unless there's some sort of godly "Bubble Armour" ability,  we should get Hyperventilation, Bubble Blade, And the dash. Right?

>"Hm...me have a few ideas for you to work with..."

Abilities:
Bubble Sword - A full-blown sword for melee combat. Better range than Bubble Blade. Lasts 12 swings until recharge. - Needs 65% Whistle Charge
Bubble Whip - Another whistle extension with the longest range of all. Doesn't do direct damage, but leaves large bubble streams that leave water-breathers struggling. Lasts 8 swings until recharge. - Needs 80% Whistle Charge

I'm leaning towards hyperventilation, bubble whip, and the dash right now but just in case...

Rou, Just to clarify, Do we get the whip AND the sword, along with two other things, or just one.
I'm going to say Hyperventilation, the Dash, and both weapons. If not both, Then the Sword. We'll need close range in case, right?

Close range really doesn't matter when all of your attacks come from the whistle. The rapid fire shoud be enough to make someone who's close back off. Also, of the sword and the whip, the whip sounds more fun and interesting.

The three weapons - the Blade, the Sword, and the Whip - are all separate upgrades.

Well, you should probably start putting the abilities to a vote, so that Rou can keep this moving. The three abilities that get the most votes are the ones that Sango learns. I'll go ahead and put down some votes, so that there's a format to follow.

> Learn Blinking Tide.
> Learn Hyperventilate.
> Learn Cool Bubble Whip.

OK, since there's a majority for three options in particular and I want to get things moving, I'm gonna hurry up and move things on.

-----

> First and foremost, you really like the look of that dash move. Twelve Fin Slaps runs you through it step by step. Thankfully there are only three steps - look in direction you want to move, imagine yourself flying there, and tap your feet together.

New Ability: Blinking Tide

> You need to work on your charge times, you think. Twelve Fin Slaps teaches you how to better call upon your air, filling up your whistle much fast than usual.

New Ability: Hyperventilate

> For all the awesome your whistle is currently capable of, you think it could use some more versatility. The whip sounds useful - it has range, but it also has some interesting abilities. You can't hurt with it, but holding someone in place with it could be useful, and it seems like the easiest way to take enemies out without killing them - block the gills, make them pass out, then bring them back to the surface for the Breath of Life.
Also, it looks pretty damn cool. That helps.

New Ability: Bubble Whip

> "You fast student!" Twelve Fin Slaps says, impressed. "Though you look like you run out of magic for now."
You're not sure how she figured this out, until you look down and see the dolphin's eye on your chest has dimmed. It must be a sign of how much untapped power you have left, or something like that.

> You offer the master your thanks as your training session ends. You've been here for a couple of hours now, and the dolphins who had surrounded you before are now spreading out to guard the coast.
"No problem!" Twelve Fin Slaps says, saluting. "You make sure to come back when you beat down Champions! Me will come up with new ideas for you and your cute whistle!"
Cute is really not the impression you wanted to give across, but whatever. You return to the surface.

>"Oh, hello again," Shujinko says, sitting on the beach and writing what's probably poetry into the sand. "What did the river dolphin teach you? I assume those boots of yours don't have laces, so she didn't have to teach you how to tie them."
Harami is at his side, glaring him down again before turning to you. "That was fast. I thought you had the look of a quick learner about you. So, what're you capable of now?"

>SHOW HIM YO MOVES
>You give him a taste of your Blinking Tide technique, tapping your feet together and shifting from several feet away to right behind him. You nudge his glasses off into the sand, and the look of sheer horror on his face is totally worth it.
"W-Well! At least you have a trick or two. You might be able to fluke your way to victory, if we're lucky."

>Harami is impressed in a more genuine sense, nodding towards you.
"You already seem a lot more powerful than you were before. Perhaps we can walk around the streets safely now. Take the fight to the enemy, as you put it."
She looks backwards, towards her backpack. "Though we should try to do something about my...appearance, first. Shujinko gave me more than enough of your currency to purchase some clothes, so could you direct me to a local store?"

>"Sure, Let's go."
>Whisper to Shujinko "I'll finish showing you what I can do later~"
>evil grin
>Shujinko seems slightly disturbed, but maintains his composure for the most part. "Perhaps by that point you'll have found a weapon more dignified than that damned whistle."
He walks casually back into the water, dipping beneath the surface and re-emerging as a dolphin.

>"Ganges Reefed!"
You return to your normal form, drying yourself off and changing back into your ordinary clothes. Harami is keen to take your hand as you walk back into town together.
"I must apologise for Shujinko's behaviour. He is an excellent advisor, but his personality has even some of Odonto's finest shaking their heads."

>Figure out how to work Blinking Tide into a bitchin' flamenco.
>Consider shopping locals that aren't too pricy. And hopefully not too crowded at this hour.
>You'll get back to this when you figure out how to flamenco without ground to stand on.
>There are a few clothing stores in close proximity to you right now. You've got Kageyama's, who specialise in long exotic dresses at undercut prices, Fujiwara's, who are into more practical clothing (especially jackets, hoodies and trenchcoats), and if all else fails there's the Yakumo Multimart, Gensoushima's chain of the biggest supermarket in Japan. That might be crowded at this hour, though.
(Your personal favourite store, Kawashiro's Dive Shop and Swimsuit Emporium, is presumably not a viable option at this point.)

>Hit up Fujiwara's. We need Harami to blend in, and low key stuff is the way.
>"He is egotistical, I will admit. I am ashamed of him, but the fact remains that no-one in Odonto could hope to take his place. I will have to deal with him.

>Fujiwara's is about five minutes walking distance from the coast. As you enter the musty store, filled with the smell of dust and the strumming of some guitar song you've never heard of, you see Harami's face turn a little pale.
"...I suppose it's about time I gave up something for the cause, isn't it?" she says, glaring without much love at the jackets and coats running along the lines of clotheshangers. The shopkeeper comes up to you (the only customers in the store) and gives the usual salesman rant, tightening her suspenders to look official.
"Mornin', ladies. Welcome to Fujiwara's, where our clothes will keep you warmer than a phoenix on your lap. Now, as a warning, I can't take any payments by card right now - the electronic transfer system is acting up. Apparently that's happening all over Gensoushima right now, so there's not much I can do about it. Now, cold hard cash..."
>What are you looking to have Harami wear? She doesn't seem to have any personal preferences, disliking all the outfits equally.

>Look around for something that fits the current weather. Are there at least any designs that she likes?
>You're well into spring now, so you look at the lighter jackets. You find some hooded jackets that aren't likely to make the poor girl melt, with appropriately kiddy designs. They don't seem to offer any big trenchcoats or anything for kids Harami's age.
>Harami examines some of the patterns. By the time she's looked at the third dolphin-design, she glares at you. She probably wants something less blatantly aquatic so she doesn't give herself away.

>About how much do we have, and how much are the different sorts of clothes available?
>Would we be able to say anything to Harami without anyone else hearing?
>Harami has enough money from Shujinko to make payment more or less a non-issue. If you want it, you can have it.
>If you walk into a distant corner of the store, you should be able to talk to Harami without the shopkeeper hearing you.
