> That said, if we've lost our celestial, then retreat away from the group, and start to pace in a lazy circle around them, forcing them to reorient.

>That would have been much more physically possible.
>You start to circle around, and it is a good thing too. The other Celestials have not just be standing there during your antics, and have been moving to try to maintain an advantageous position on you. Your circling brings you close to one.

There was something here once. Wonder what...

>No sense in fighting fairly if they don't.
>The road doesn't seem to have much in the way of loose stuff to kick; at least not enough to really get in someone's eyes.
>You jab at the the celestial's wrists. She, in turn, swings at your trident and bats the head away to the sidea bit, enough to go past her by few inches. You recover before going too far out, while she is left in a poor position following her parry. You can sense the others are starting to close around you again.

>If so, do this, and as we strike, leap upwards into the air
>Quick assessment behind/around us

>You bring the trident around and nail the celestial firmly in the head, sending her stagger away.
>You take to the air and look around. Two celestials are closing in behind you, to the left and right, and another is circling in toward you. The one you had used as a shield is mostly recovered now, and is joining the group from behind you and to the right, likely intending to close off your right side.

>Thrust out with our trident as we fly towards her
>If she parries the blow aside in a way that positions us to strike with the back of the trident, do so
>If she sidesteps the blow as we charge, swing our path wide in the opposite direction that she sidestepped and quickly circle around - attempt to strike from the back
>If she swings as we pass, try to grab the blow with our tines and disarm
>In each case, if an actual trident trust would make direct contact, hold back the full force of the blow, and upon imminent contact, call: "Yield."

>Can we release clouds of darkness normally, or is that restricted to spellcard use? And can we see clearly in said clouds of darkness?

>You can, but it takes a fair amount of time to recover from the lost power. You cannot see through them any better than anyone else.

>Turn around and face the one moving to our left
>Thrust out with our trident as we fly towards her
>If she parries the blow aside in a way that positions us to strike with the back of the trident, do so

>In each case, if an actual trident trust would make direct contact, hold back the full force of the blow, and upon imminent contact, call: "Yield."

>You go toward the Celestial to the left. She stops, and prepares to strike. You catch her weapon between your trident tines, and with the momentum you've built up you easily disarm her.
>She bows her head as you tell her to yield.

>Quickly drop altitude below the height of her attack, thrust trident up from below her guard, towards torso. Hold off on real damage, as before

>You pull back your trident and move right; well in time, as the two pursuing celestials catch up wit h you from the left; you just barely avoid them as you move around the recently parried celestial's attack.
>There are now two in front of you, and a third to the front and you right correcting herself after her prior attack. You can see the one you already beat on trying to circle around from the left.

>You fly toward the one off guard as the celestials do not respond to your taunt. The celestial to the right moves to knock your trident away again, when you ascend. The celestial in the middle strikes out as you do, but your sudden direction change throws her off and the wooden blade passes harmless underneath you. Thrusting down at the rightmost celestial, you force her down to the ground again and in a poor position.

>You pass over her and thrust at her side as she turns. It's not difficult to catch her, and call for her to yield as you draw the attack short. She drops her weapon and bows her head.
>"You could have taken that!" Tenshi shouts as the other two celestials approach and fan out to your right and left, the left one slashing with the right one stabs. "You should've have whapped her right then!

Or, y'know, we could just take flight.

That'll just give us two more blind spots to contend with. As long as everyone's on the ground, everything is predictable.

> How's that dizzied celestial doing?

> Dodge just to the side, overhead smash to the wrists.
> If it connects, slip past, wrap left arm around their neck from behind and dash down and backwards until our feet are touching the ground, keeping our grappled celestial between us and any active ones.

[edit] Follow up Draco's command with this.

>Hard to tell at this exact moment, but she was circling around before.
>The smash to the wrists is unnecessary, you grab the other celestial around her and use her as a shield. This nice forestalls the other from stabbing you in the back, as she was about to do.

>"So, what, does that mean you're just gonna thrash them if I don't?"
