Did we manage to get anyone sent to relieve Parsee or have we forgotten about that already/want her to get Yuugi on our case?
I don't think it's a pressing issue considering we haven't been topside for too long and the temple crew is currently preoccupied.  We haven't talked to Murasa yet, so feel free to ask her.

Ran appears to be doing her best to insult our intelligence, giving me reason to suspect that she knows more about the incident than she is letting on, but that's a personal thing. I can try pulling information out of her, but if you folks don't want to, then I won't bother, it's not that big a deal.

If you want to please do, I'm not a fan of asking questions; I much prefer just going out and doing things.

Could you give examples of this? I never got that impression.

Ran said the feeling was akin to the two sensory things she described, not that it actually was those things. Nue's dialogue is asking her to describe the two sensory things as if they actually happened when they had only been used as metaphors. I think this is where the confusion is coming from.

This sensation is worth asking others about, I think. Maybe super fox youkai lady with her supremely good senses was the only one to notice it, or maybe it happened to everyone? Could be an important distinction.

It also sounds like she told us off, so I'm pretty much done with her for now.  I'm also gonna head to bed soon, but I'll be around for the night shift again tomorrow.

Could you give examples of this? I never got that impression.

What she basically told is is "hay gaize something weird happened when the money got nicked lol!" She literally told us nothing we don't know or could have deduced with half a brain, and what she told us was so vague that it could easily send us on the wrong track, especially if she isn't providing her own interpretation of it. It is, indeed, better if she hadn't said anything at all.

The thing is, this is Ran we're talking about, and I'm pretty certain she's plenty smart enough to understand the above, meaning that either she's being intentionally stupid or intentionally secretive. Both are cause to wonder.

This sensation is worth asking others about, I think. Maybe super fox youkai lady with her supremely good senses was the only one to notice it, or maybe it happened to everyone? Could be an important distinction.

That's an idea worth following up on. That said, do we interrogate Ran further or continue on straight with this?

I don't think interrogating her further is going to do anything if she isn't able to elaborate on this sensation.

I think I also will place a little bit more stock in this info, since Ran's the first person to say something about the sensation happening. We couldn't have deduced that some people felt something when this happened because it had yet to come up, and we've talked to at least one person that was both awake the entire time and smart enough to think to give us any info they had (Nazrin) who didn't say anything. Why Ran felt this and Nazrin apparently didn't is curious enough on its own.

Also worth noting is that Ran is telling us this individually and is not saying anything about anyone else claiming to feel it. She's been here the whole time and we've clearly demonstrated that we're, at the very least, well acquainted with Byakuren. This strongly suggests Byakuren didn't feel this sensation, because surely she would have said something and Ran would have pointed this out to us since we arrived late. (It's a good bet Ichirin didn't feel it either, given what she's said.)

Beyond that, it gives us something new about which to ask, and depending who gives us yes or no answers we can narrow down who may be more or less helpful or possibly even draw a correlation between those affected and those not. That Ran got this sensation when none of our friends apparently did is quite bizarre, and actually gives me even stronger feelings about heading to Eientei so we can check on another topside animal youkai. There's also the big and obvious option of asking people on the mountain, with the Moriya Shrine given special attention since Kanako is demonstrably Perceptive Of And Good With Bizarre Things.

I think it was silly of you to snap at her for giving us extra information freely, Fightest. It'll be good to ask other magical types if they noticed something. It does imply it was a wave of energy. It doesn't sound like it was technological, so the kappa probably can't help much. It can't be a Moriya Shrine Conspiracy right? :ohdear:

That's the thing, though. I thought it was blatantly clear that the gem-swap was not perpetrated by a single individual that was present at all locations, nor, indeed, by a group of individuals present at all locations, therefore some McGuffin Magic had to have been involved. Ran gave us no additional information on said McGuffin Magic.

There's also the big and obvious option of asking people on the mountain, with the Moriya Shrine given special attention since Kanako is demonstrably Perceptive Of And Good With Bizarre Things.

She is? Then that's a good place to go.

Kanako first spotted the shadow problem in IkQ, and she's known to be able to use the wind to be able to keep very loose track of locations of people (she found Renko and Koishi in MariQ). She's also not cryptic for the sake of amusement like Suwako can be sometimes.

I can't guarantee Nue will even be able to get past the tengu borders up to the Moriya Shrine, but if she can, Kanako is a very good person to ask just about anything, and we have the added bonus of knowing who Kanako is, if Sanae liked our ability so much.

Oh yeah. It's too bad we didn't bring a miko outfit, we could easily get to the shrine as Sanae. You think Sanae would come with us to help solve the incident? This is not an attempt to ship Nue x Sanae at all!

Pretty sure we can just do it as a fairy. Nobody pays attention to fairies.

>It depends on the disguise. You could probably pass as Hatate or Sanae around them, if you had the right clothes. Or you could pass yourself off as a tengu in general, if you could get some of that ridiculous footwear they like and no one asked you to prove who you were.

Yeah I think if anything, It's Eientei or Moriya that'll give us some more answers. We should probably check both places out.

Don't suppose you have any idea if we might be able to track down what it was, more than just a vague sense?"

>"Typically, I am quite sensitive to magic," says Ran. "I agree that a lot of power would be needed, but I don't think it was using magic in any sense that we understand it. I suspect it might have come close enough for me to get a brief glimpse at it, but...obviously too brief to be very useful. However, this only my feeling."

So, we were going to hang around here for the crowds to disperse, and then try to talk to Keine/Mokou? Even if Nue doesn't know what Ran was referring to when she looked at her, she has enough to suspect there might be something there worth subtly looking into, and there's the issue of getting a guide to Eientei in Mokou.

Or were we heading elsewhere in the meantime, and coming back later? We did get Ichirin to look into sending Shou down to replace Parsee, right?
