>"I'm normally not a wall, but I apologize for acting as one."
>"Are you alright?"

>"I... I think I'm ok." The fairy taps herself on the side of the head a few times, as if to confirm it's still in the right place. Then she frowns at you. "Wait, why were you pretending to be a wall?" There's a pause, then her eyes suddenly widen in panic.
>"Ack!" she cries, getting to her feet again. "Spy! Intruder!" She barrels on down the alleyway ahead of you, still awkwardly clutching the box in front of her face.

> "Lemon.  You want some?  I'm willing to share."
> Present the pie.

>You present the pie to the fairy and offer her some. She slowly, almost hesitantly, turns her head to look. The expression on her face is pained, like one wrestling with a major internal conflict.
>"That looks delicious..." she says, gliding a few inches backwards, almost unconsciously. "And you'd really just let me have some? I wanted to get a lemon pie this morning, but Mint Blossom said we were-"
>"No!" she suddenly declares, putting on a resolute face. "I'm on an important mission! If I let myself be defeated by pie, the plan will be ruined. The others are counting on me!" With that, she resumes flying off down the alley, but you note her stealing glances back over her shoulder at the pie. From the look on her face, you almost wonder if she's about to break into tears.

> Sigh.
> After she goes out of sight head down after her.

>You sigh and let the fairy go, watching her duck around another corner and nearly smack into a real wall this time.
>Once she's out of sight, you follow her trail down the alleyway, and turn left into another narrow pathway between the row buildings you'd previously been walking behind, and a new one, mostly concealed from your previous vantage. It is a two-story warehouse, smaller than the previous three, and certainly not in the best repair. A row of windows ring the upper floor, most of them boarded up, a couple broken, and one or two missing entirely, you think. Generic graffiti is scrawled along parts of the wall, as well as a few rather more playful doodles in brightly colored chalk, extending all the way to the second story. Further along the wall you see a door, also boarded tight. You think you can sounds of animated conversation issuing from the building's interior.

> Check around for a potential entryway into the warehouse.
> Check for mice as well.

>You circle around the building, looking for a way in. Aside from the small side door, there is a larger entrance at the front, but this too is boarded over. You don't see any other entrances.
>You don't see any mice on your circuit, but you do note several gaps in the building's stonework that a mouse could use to slip in and out. It's possible there could be some living in it.

>They're not especially large, but you think you could fit through them without a problem.
>You scan around for a way to climb up. While the quality of the stoneworking is not particularly good, the warehouse walls are still essentially flat. There is the occasional split in the mortar, but not much that could serve as a decent handhold.

>You return to the small door, standing somewhat off to the side of it, and try to see if you can make out what's being said inside. There are definitely multiple voices - at least 4, you think - chatting animatedly and often over each other. It's hard to tell exactly what they're saying - you think they're some distance away from the door - but you make out snatches of what seems to be an argument over... boxes?

What do you think, gang? I'm thinking...we just knock on the door and play innocent.

Alternately, we could look for mice to help out, but if there's a cat around I imagine they won't be cooperative.

I would suggest trying to open the door a smidge, to better hear first. Either that, or take a page out of Jack Burton's book and grab a telephone.

Think I'm with Sect on this one. Crack the door a little and have a listen. If nothing else, be amusing to hear a fairy argument over boxes. And if that yields nothing beyond a chuckle, we go with purvis' idea.
Just one thing, though. That door's boarded shut. What good would knocking do us?

>Make a quick trip around the warehouse, to see if there are any other ways in.

>You make another trip around the warehouse, but do not note any additional doors that you missed the first time. There is a larger one at the front, and a smaller one along the side, but both are boarded over. The only obvious open ways in are the windows, but they're out of reach.

>Indeed you did.
>Being boarded up, there isn't really much you can do to open this door without at least attempting to remove the boards.

>Look around for something solid we can stand on to access the windows above us.

>The alleyway itself is fairly bare, aside from a couple loose pieces of wood and scattered bits of trash. You did note some crates back by the earlier three warehouses; they may or may not be empty at the moment, and they're certainly someone else's property, but you'd only have to borrow them briefly. There's certainly bound to be more than a few things outside in the district that could serve as a step-up, if you're willing to go further afield.

>Do our kunai seem sturdy enough to pry at the boards a bit, in case we can't find a good thing to stand on.

>Although they're not an ideal tool for this, it may be possible. Due to how they taper, you think the risk of damaging them would depend on how far you could wedge the kunai in behind the boards. The middle section is certainly sturdy enough, but if you apply too much force to the narrow tip, it might snap off.

>Assuming no one objects, go back and have a look at those crates, see if one of them will serve as a stool.

>You walk back towards the first warehouse and have a closer look at the crates you saw earlier. Many of them are large shipping containers, too big for you to move even if they were empty. Walking around the buildings, you note a couple barrels in the alley between the first and second warehouses. An experimental pull suggests they're at least partially full of... something; although too heavy to really lift, you could probably roll them without too much trouble. Completing a circuit, you also see a couple smaller crates strewn between the row buildings along the back. They're open-topped, like milk crates, and you suspect they're actually trash, rather than inventory; they're strewn about carelessly, and you note damage to a couple of them. You'd be a touch nervous about bearing your weight on some of them, but they're probably usable

>You don't see anyone walking around the alleyway at the moment, although you think at least some of the buildings in the strip next to you are occupied, and it's hard to tell if there's anyone inside the warehouses or not.
