Hello Artists,
look at the monthly art challenge,
now back to me,
now back to the challenge,
now back to me.

Yeah, that one ran dry. But let's not worry, because something new is coming up right here right now.
The problem with the old challenge was likely that it required a lot of work, which didn't easily fit into busy schedules. So we thought of something new to bring some fresh air into AAA, something that will require much less time from the participants and can therefore be run more frequently.
For now I'm thinking either weekly or biweekly depending on how many entries we get.

The Periodic Artist Challenge - 10-Minute Drawings | 1-Minute Music

Actually this isn't a single contest.
It is two contests, one for music, one for drawings.
If you wish so, you can submit entries for both contests.

Rules

10-Minute Speed-Drawings

Your goal is to draw a picture according to a given theme
To draw your picture you have exactly ten minutes. _{(We can't check that of course, so we will rely on your fairness and honesty. If you need a minute or two more, that's alright, but try not to go over the limit much more than that )}
You submit an entry by posting it here in the thread, or posting a link to the picture
Entries will be judged on how well they meet the theme and on creativity, not on the quality of the art

1-Minute Music-Arrangements

Your goal is to arrange a given piece of music according to a certain theme. Both remixing a piece and playing it from scratch on an instrument of your choice are valid.
The maximum length of the arranged piece is 1 minute
You submit an entry by attaching it to a post here or posting a link to it
Entries will be judged on how well they meet the theme and on creativity

Prize
The winners of each category will be given Special Member as a prize, plus bragging rights.

Drawings: Show us how you think Hina Kagiyama spends her Valentine's Day
Music: Arrange one minute of Hina's theme Dark Side of Fate in a light and happy mood. A happy Hina is a good Hina.

The deadline is February 21st, one week from now.

On another note, since the music entry can't be more than 1 minute long, is there a minimum length requirement?

Hmmm i'm just tryin to get as close as possible I guess. Couple seconds either side of 60 is the goal, but I reckon anything over 45 seconds or so should be alright?

Yeah. If you are confident you can pull off a good entry with only 30 seconds then feel free to, but it shouldn't be shorter than that. Around 60 sec +/- some is the goal. I won't disqualify anyone for a 70 seconds entry :V

Definitely no problems with that. Entries by proxy are unusual, but there is no reason why not~

That's because crafters are obviously inferior and crafts are not art enough.

Well puitting the indivual parts together shouldn't take me that long. Because the time it takes to sharpen pencils and set your medium doesn't count :V

I think we can allow that as long as the main work was within the ten-minute frame

My hand was shaking after this. Having only 10 minutes to draw is intense.

Textures were added outside of the 10 minute time frame.

I don't want to share the concept of the pic, since if I did it right, you guys should get it. Hopefully, I didn't fail. Serious concept is serious. orz

Speed vector drawing isn't too fast D:
Took 11 minutes so i didn't really have time to add the last laces on her ribbon[attach=1]
(oh and 5 minutes planning, though i think time on that doesn't count right?)

I forgot how much time it takes to get vector curves right so it ended up funky lol
