I...don't actually think blood has anything to do with it, last I checked. I could be remembering wrong, but I don't recall any line stating blood was the reason for their powers. If there is, mind pointing me at it? :V

I don't think that was mentioned anywhere, it's just an observation from a bunch of lower-caste people (Sollux, Vriska, Tavros, Aradia) having them and none of the higher-caste people having them (instead relying on sheer physical prowess/genius/laser guns/magic/whatever the fuck feferi does).
