TPWEvo Reform Advice please
« on: December 01, 2010, 11:46:01 PM »
It took me awhile, but I am finally able to beat some of the characters reform contacts. I've tried reforming multiple times but it seems to me that the benefits are miniscule. Is there a strategy to getting a good bonus? Can there be multiple reforms? If so how many?

I typically get a total benefit of 20-25 pts for HIT ATT and DOD and 120-140 HP. Is this a "normal" amount?

The stats you roll are added towards your character's base stats. After reforming a few times, your character begins to grow monstrously powerful (AKA 2200+ Yuka). The best strategy is to save before you reform your character so you get the most of your desired stat. I normally go all out in a single stat for each reform so a good amount of the stat goes towards my character's base stat. I don't know how many times you can reform though.

And this should've been posted in the Touhou Pocket Wars discussion.

IMO the best way to reform is also the most boring.
It's fun to just hop about the board getting random stats, but the most efficient way is as follows
1: do not reform until your exp is capped (9999999 or something)
2: save and reform, try to get 12-18%+ of your highest stat. Rec,SP, etc should only be taken if your rolls do not offer that stat as a possibility.
3: after reforming, spend all your exp on 1 stat, yes your character will be pretty awful with only 50 up, no did, etc. Note that even with 9999999 exp you probably will NOT be able to reach level 500 with it.
4: repeat, be sure that you get 12ish+ for the stat you spent 500 levels on, feel free to pick a new stat between reforms.

This method is quite boring, and makes your characters hard to use in difficult battles. But offers the largest benefits between reforms. Obviously the benefits will start to outweigh the drawbacks after reform #4 or so.

Because of how boring this method is, you may want to do it to only some of your characters.

So you can reform any number of times?

Oh. Sorry about that... I'll look more carefully next time.  :ohdear:

Thanks for the help you guys.

I'd agree with most of that.
Don't settle for reforms as bad as 12% though, go for 18-25% on the big stat. You will need to retry a lot, but it's less bad than the grind for all the love (exp) again.
For attackers If you do hit first that will help, one reforms worth of hit bonus (about 200) is decent for most S rank fights, so you'll be able to use the character a bit whilst grinding them.
