>"Indeed. There was also a humanoid ghost spotted near that tree around the time its shadow vanished. Apparently it simply sat in a bush, reading a book, and then left several hours later. The fairies who saw it say it hasn't returned since."

>She nods. "Huh."

>"That does sound like it would be nice. Um, I've not seen any ghosts. But, it's just, that doesn't sound like a ghost, what you said there. More like, um, a poltergeist? Or something else, like Murasa."

>"It's just that, some people call everything a ghost," says Lunasa.
>She nods as you describe the ghost. "Um..." She looks away. "Maybe I saw someone like that..."

>"Lunasa... whatever has been stealing shadows has done far more harm than sending the islands beneath the clouds. Someone is gravely unwell as a result of their shadow being taken from them. More people may follow. More may already exist. It is imperative that we find out what is responsible and put things right. This person is one of our only clues."

But these are far from ordinary, and I was not exaggerating when I said how important I believe it is that we resolve this incident quickly. I can barely hazard a guess as to why this topic is so uncomfortable for you; is there anything I do to reassure you that what you say to me is private and safe, if you wish it to be?"

Lunasa chews her lower lip for a moment, then nods. "i saw her a few hours ago, I think. She was over around the west. It's just, she's not a ghost, she's a poltergeist like me. So I was curious. But, uh, she didn't want to talk or anything at all. She's not very good at danmaku, either."
