>You have no idea! But presumably, they take care of it.
>"I suppose..." says the first faerie, dragging out the last syllable.
>The three faeries begin to fly eastward.
>"We got all kinds of neat rocks!" says the second faerie.
>"The neatest!" says the first.

>Follow along

>You follow the trio eastward. They lead you through various bits of brush and bramble, thing that they can easily fly through or around, but someone of your height has difficulty with. Still, you manage to keep up, more or less; periodically discovering more leaves in annoying places after you time in the leaf pit. After a few minutes, the faeries lead you across the main road into the eastern forest.
>You can hear the activity before you see it, faeries shouting and laughing. Then you come a small clearing with a couple dozen faeries of practically every description, gathered closely together in a half-circle. In the center of this chaos, standing on a stump, is a small faerie in a blue dress, her blonde hair a mass of ringlets. Laying on the ground beside her, her hands and feet bound and looking decidedly bored and annoyed, is the familiar face of Yamame.
>"Do I hear seven thimbles? Seven?" says the ringlet-bearing faerie.
>"One saw-horse!" shouts a faerie in the crowd.
>"We're late!" cries one of your guides.

>See if we can make eye contact with Yamame without disturbing the gathering, yet. Concerned and curious expression.

>You give Tenshi a rather incredulous look. She shrugs.
>You start to make your way around the circle and do not need to take any especial action to catch her attention; few people stand out as much among a gathering of faeries as you do. She tries to say something, but you can't hear her very well over the faeries shouting and bidding. Taking a closer look, though, the damage on her clothing and the marks she bears suggests she was on the wrong end of a danmaku battle.

>You are not close enough that kneeling down would help. As it stands, you are near the edge of the crowd and still a few yards from her.

>Listen for the current bid.

>Perhaps faeries in Gensokyo have a particular appreciation for fine footwear?
>You try to get closer to Yamame. "Hey!" shouts a faerie near you. "She's trying to make off with the goods!"
>The mood of the crowd darkens considerably as the cries for bids change to shouts of outrage.

I'm wondering if whipping out a spellcard might not be such a bad idea right now. Use it to threaten - or to bid.

I'm not sure they'll listen to anything we have to say. Or even literally be able to hear it over their own noise, if past posts are an indication

>What are the effects of our present spellcards?
>Do the fairies seem to be getting ready to surge, or did that one just cry out a suggestion?
