Hey, JT, have you tried something like this:

This way, you don't have to update manually.

Excerpts, huh? Well, I'm not unhappy with how this one turned out:

Quote
?The King?s words were not ones of confidence; he was not boasting or gloating. If anything, he looked to me like he was expecting such a result, and, his expectation being proven true, was almost disappointed. I realized then what is now, in hindsight, obvious ? I was looking at a man who wished to die. I could no longer hold in the questions, for nothing else remained in my thoughts. I asked the question at the forefront of my mind, the one from which the rest emerged, like cracks on ice ? had he done this before? The King?s answer led to another question, the answer to that led to another, and another, and another, and for nearly two days I spoke with the King face to face, as a priest would talk to a confessor in one of the sacred churches in the northern kingdom. After all these many years, I still do not have all the answers, but my conclusion then was as it remains now ? the King of the kingdom of stone and steel was, as far as I can comprehend it, immortal. Yet he did not seem to me like a man who felt himself blessed. He had a resignation in him that I had never seen in the most wretched of drunkards and vagrants, whom life had chewed up and swallowed whole, merely shells of men, already dead without knowing it. He felt bound by a purpose that he could not throw away, he told me, forcing him along a path of life beyond his choosing. I believed him then, and I have all the more reason to believe him now, that he remained living for a purpose that he was destined to carry out ? whether he wished it or not.?

I'll probably just start pasting information from wikipedia and claim it to be character monologues directed towards the audience.

Trance can finish in 10 days at this pace. Make 2 more NaNoWriMo accounts and lap us.

For me, this is a real grind. But it's fun; a marathon test of writing diligence. I haven't been motivated like this in a while. Just taking it one step at a time.

10,016 words GET. Breaking 10k feels fucking fantastic. Current Trend: 3 days ahead of schedule. Now as long as this trend doesn't break into a million pieces later on.

Quote from: The Dreaming
My eyes close and open. I have begun the dreaming. It has been said that dreams are a window to the unconscious, the part of one's mind that cannot be easily seen. It is to better understand myself that I have begun this sojourn into my mind. Perhaps I will "have a jolly good show" as the stereotype of the gentleman would have me say. Why, people will ask, why have you begun a journey into the depths of your mind? Surely you could go to an expert and see these things with greater ease.

That is true. An expert would surely be able to see the images and phantasms that I will perceive on this path. But it is for that very reason that I must do this alone. Surely, the person who understands me the best is myself, right?

My eyes close as I fall into the world of my mind. Thus has begun the first of my dreams...

:(   Mine opening part  of my novel. Curse ye people with too much time on yer hands. How you can pull out such powerful stuff is beyond me.

I have every member of MotK on my writing buddies list, plus like 10-15 other people I know, that I'm competing against tracking.  So I am not having a problem following it; I'm just amused that the opening post isn't even trying anymore 8D
(not that I can't blame them)

EDIT: 22,222 GET

6,593 words. Meaning...2.4K today. HOLY SHIT.

Least I'm starting to get closer to where I need to be.

....

And no, I'm not posting an excerpt. I doubt anyone would be interested, anyway.

32k+ seems a reasonable goal for tomorrow, and maybe I can go past that

Progress is good.

Now that I introduced romance, word padding is now far easier!

...Damn.  I did not get enough writing done today.  Didn't even do the requisite 1667; so much for maintaining a 4k average.

Mostly because I had to sleep through most of the day and have to work what little of it remains away.  Damnit.

Meanwhile, another friend of mine happily informed me today that she started over yesterday, and hit 15k words in a single day when her muse hit her like a brick.  Damnit.
