Another day of not being productive. Still at the beginning of the story. Generally angry at myself for wasting a day...but hey, I guess my house really DID need cleaning.

Will say that I'm a little happy of how I had pig loli uncover the plot point of the story.
Spoiler:
She walked in on two teachers doing it in the classroom.

Came up a bit short today, but I got stuck for a little while.  Now I've got the story moving again.  I'm also introducing characters at I suspect far too high a rate, but...I'll figure it out.

The (most likely) final word count for today is 3,082. Hot damn where does this writing come from and how the hell did I manage so much so fast.  :V

Missed another deadline, what with yesterday being too exhausting for any constructive writing, meaning I'll have to play 7-page catchup today. Oh boy.

Wrote 3.2k words in a little over an hour, I may add more to that later.

Trying to aim for 20k, but I might not make it.

20k get!

AND MY AXE

I'm actually supposed to go meet with my Municipal Liason today, because she seriously works like a ten minute walk from my place.  And then I'm going to a three-hour meetup/write-in on Saturday afternoon at some cafe, at which point I should hopefully churn out a tonne.

I have three words of my novel, Shoot the Tengu.

They are "Shoot the Tengu".

This is why I was reluctant to join this.

I haven't done shit else for writing, and I'm wasting time doing other shit on the internet. This is frustrating and I swear I'm going to destroy my DSL box if I slack off again.

I start to become like my main character: At first with a lot enthusiasm, but my ideas slowly run out. All I need is somebody telling me about some weird ritual and stuff would get even weirder than it already is.

The Bechdel Writing Test is a simple test usually applied both to paper and film writing, and is as follows:
Quote
1. It has to have at least two women in it,
2. Who talk to each other,
3. About something besides a man.

Nope, I didn't fail it, consider that I have two independently strong female protagonists and the male characters are just sidekicks.

I have discovered a problem.

When I'm trying to make characters smarter than I am, and they're supposed to come up with brilliant plans, and oh crap I can't think of anything...

The opposite is coming up with a stupid alternative to a smart plan because none of your characters are smart enough (or vocal enough) to come up with something like what you originally intended.

...Actually I've realised my main character is an idiot and it's bothering me.  *Cracks knuckles* Time to... fix that.

I'm having the exact same problem. The answer is to come up with a half-baked non-solution that only makes things worse.

I would wager that MotK, being what it is, would actually be quite strong on the Bechdel coefficient. A more interesting question would then be to pose is how many fail the Inverse Bechdel Test?

Well, I already failed the test. As for now, there is only one female character in my story, and she's only there for writing discussions with the main character.

I think I'm gonna stand in that corner for a while...

えっと...日本語はOKですか?

Just kidding, anyway, I'm gonna slack a bit, I won't go the full 5k/day, I will probably settle for 3k+. Or I might, depending on my mood.
