>Continue to the Underground

>You continue toward the entrance to the Underground. Thankfully, there isn't much further to go. Sanae follows behind you, and you get the distinct impression that she's just waiting for you to do something.
>You reach the entrance to the Underground. It is a large, but fairly unobtrusive cavern in the side of the a mountain. A fair amount of greenery; now more of an autumnal brown, surrounds it.
>Flying inside, you descend into the area you know as Yamame's haunt. It is a large chamber filled will stalactites and stalagmites. As well, there is a copious amount of spiderweb, some of it formed into words advertising various businesses in the Ancient City, as well as Kourindou. It is fairly clean for a cavern, as well. Sanae looks around with some interest, though glancing back at you every few moments.

>You continue past Yamame's haunt. Soon, you come to a place where the path branches. One of the branches continues northward and downward, leading toward the Ancient City. Another inclines upward and toward the west. Obvious exits are North, Southeast, and West

>She nods as you warn her about Kisume. "Okay, I'll keep that in mind."
>You continue onward, passing into a chamber whose floor is covered with fissures that would easier catch someone's ankle and break it. You floatover them, and continue onward to a chamber filled with rocky shelves, forming a sort of Byakuren-sized stairway toward to the Ancient City.
>As you descend, you hear Sanae cry out, as something slams hard into the rock behind you.

>... what is standard etiquette when dealing with Kisume, anyway?

>As far as you know, oni generally consider humans kind of flaky, but also kind of fascinating. They tend not to like admitting the latter part. You know they have a reputation for kidnapping humans that catch their interest. Sanae might well fall under that.
>Try to see her coming.

>You could easily imagine any such attempt ending in failure, or possibly a riot.
>Sanae nods. "I see. It's just...a little surprising.
>"Let's."
>You continue onward, reaching the bottom of the shelf chamber, which flares out to an immense cavern. Ahead, you can see the bridge leading toward the city, a long immaculately kept wooden span. There doesn't seem to be anyone on it at the moment. Up ahead, you can see the city, and hear it as well. Glancing up, you can see some clouds gathered around the shadowy roof of the cavern. Obvious exits are North and South.
>"That's a cool song," says Sanae, as she looks around.

>"May I ask what details you know about the oni? There might be a few more important warnings to give you..."

>"I kinda know a bit about them from Suika," she says. "And I've heard lots of stories from the tengu and the kappa. So I know to be careful. But...aside from Suika, I've never met one."

>What song is this, and where is it coming from?
>"Good, that helps a little. You know about the usual interest in humans, then, right?"

>It was honestly a bit scary. You had a few clashes with some oni, but nothing particularly serious. You also got a bit lost trying to find your way.
>You don't think oni name their songs. Or really plan them out ahead of time. You know there's musicians around, though. The provide music in exchange for pretty much whatever nearby people will pay. You're pretty sure they have some kind of arrangement with the Devas.
>Sanae nods.

>What sort of raport or lack thereof do we have with notable inhabitants in the Ancient City?
>How have the oni tended to treat us?

>You are on pretty good terms with Yuugi, though you'd consider her an acquaintance at most.  You've never met the other Deva here. You have had some brief, friendly encounters with Utsuho. You've also met Parsee on many occasions, especially here, which were usually not pleasant encounters.
>About like they treat anyone. Usually quite friendly, but occasionally wanting to test your strength.
