>"I don't know off-hand what you would you would like. I could perhaps perform some task for you, or attempt to acquire something you'd be interested in, if you could tell me what it is."
>"As for how I would react to your manor's presence in Bhava-Agra, I certainly would ask you why and how you had come there. And perhaps ask you to leave, depending on the circumstances. I would make no effort to claim it as our own."
>"We do intend to return it to its proper place, once we learn how."

>"Hmmm," says Patchouli. She grins just a little."Yes. I think there just might be. But you wouldn't be satisfied with the task, I think."
>"So you say," says Patchouli, "But I wonder if the reality would be a little different? Regardless, Mistress may be unhappy with you deciding to take her mountain."

>"That it is," says Patchouli.
>"There's been a couple of new magicians coming to Gensokyo over the past couple years," says Patchouli. "With this in mind, it seems like there may be some benefit in establishing a proper circle for us to meet and share information. Of course, busy as I am, I cannot just go and ask them all personally without any semblance of haste. As such, I would like you to do so for me.

>Patchouli chuckles.
>"Very well. The people I wish you to deliver this message to are: Alice Margatroid, Marisa Kirisame, Byakuren Hijiri, Eirin Yagokoro, Maribel Hearn and Renko Usami. I would like to us to gather and discuss the various aspects of the craft, and perhaps arrange to help each other as necessary. For the first date, hmm... The Hunter's Moon is coming up, that should serve nicely."

>You make your way out of the mansion, passing by the still weeping Juniper and her associates. The other faeries seem to have decided this is break time.
>Approaching Alice's cabin again, you find she hasn't moved. "That was quick," she says. "I assume Patchouli showed you the door?"

[...]Would you be interested in this?"

Whilst politeness is a virtue, we are, first and foremost, a messenger, and must deliver the message in its entirety regardless of conditionals imposed by the addressee. In this case, it probably won't be an issue, but certain other magicians have the attention span of a three-year-old in a candy store.

In short - we will have to just shout all the information without asking if she's interested at Marisa whilst she shoots at us.

Well, I figure getting a response from them to return to Patchouli would be appreciated, above and beyond simply delivering the message (which is already done)
For that matter, I'd like to hope that the fact that we have a message for her from Patchouli will be enough to convince Marisa not to shoot at us, at least for as long as it takes us to say it. Frankly, I'm surprised Patchouli hadn't mentioned it to her already, considering it looked like Marisa just came from there.
In any event, I'm planning to return to the island and get Tenshi's clothes to bring to Patchouli before we track down the harder to reach targets (ie: Marisa / Eirin) unless an obvious opportunity presents itself. Finding Tenshi is more time-sensitive than this meeting of hers.

>You make your way back through the forest,  keeping a careful eye on the the skies and staying close to the edge of the forest in case Marisa shows up.
>You aerial vigilance is rewarded as make your way down the road, and see a red figure flying in your general direction from the north, periodically flinging danmaku at what you imagine to be faeries too distant to be seen.

>You decide that discretion is the better part of faith in others on the warpath, and duck into the forest.
>You push through the foliage, and find yourself face to face with a five faeries, sitting in a circle. "Vweep, vweep! Intruder alert!" cries one of them, thankfully nowhere near loud enough that Reimu would hear.

>"Am I not allowed in here?"

>You frown and inquire.
>"Enemy unit is attempting to make contact!" cries the talking faerie, a green-haired one barely knee-high to you.
>"Don't fall for that swindler!" says brown-skinned, brown-haired faerie.

>"And where'd that intruder go?"

>"Enemy unit is attempting misdirection!" says the tiny green-haired faerie, as the rest take to the air. "Recommending pattern lambda!"
>"Which one's lambda?" asks one.
>"What's a lambda?!" cries the brown-skinned faerie.

> Do we happen to know anyone in Gensokyo with a less-than-favorable reputation? Aside from Yukari.

>Tenshi and Yuka come to mind. Kisume, too. In fact, most of the people Underground.

>Do we, or Heaven, have a reason not to endorse a magician's convent, aside from the part about having to figure out why Alice is reluctant and getting beaten up by Marisa?

>In theory, Magicians tend not to have a great deal of interest in following the basic ways of enlightenment. Obviously, this varies from individual to individual. But when one of the features of a craft is the ability to meddle with darker powers... Of course, the wise remember to that there is a forest and there are trees.
